Woolton Grange Care Home

Mum spent 4 weeks here and it was 4 weeks too long, her safety was compromised as it took 4 weeks to have a key-coded door that led to her room fixed 2 complaints to the manager fell on deaf ears + finally an email to the CEO got it fixed in the meantime mum has EMI residents come into her room, a gentleman expose himself while trying to use her toilet Mum's anxiety increaded immensely during this stay and not once did the manager apolgise or go see Mum she preferred to deny knowing of the issue in effect blaming the staff Not what I call care, safety or compassion. I would not put a loved one this place.

It feels like a real community whenever we visit, lovely food and alternative choices if she doesn't fancy what is being served that day and always activities going on. The team there sorted out registering her with their local doctor, chiropodist visits and hairdressing as soon as she arrived. My aunt seems so settled and happy and we only wish that she had moved there sooner as she is benefitting so much from the social activities and round the clock care.

On a visit to see my brother in law today i was appalled at the lack of appropriate access for him to have a shower, as his room is on the downstairs floor and the shower room down there was not working. When my wife and I spoke to staff they looked embarrassed at the situation and explained that nobody used the shower, which is the only one on that floor.They told us the only working shower was on the first floor so I had to explain to my brother in law what he needed to do in order for him to receive his shower , and as he has dementia it is not always easy to redirect him.A female member of staff asked if we needed her assistance to help give personal care but my brother in law was already a little agitated I declined the request. The shower room was of poor standard no towels, no shower curtain and very grubby in appearance.This issue as well as others needs to be addressed ASAP .

One downside is the lack of outside space (garden area)

Mum has mixed dementia and had been struggling to care for herself and stay safe at home. A decision was made for mum to spend a few week's respite at Woolton Grange in September 2024. The family were very apprehensive about this as mum was adamant she had no issues at home but agreed to respite as a little break away from home. Mum settled in immediately and after just ten days made the decision herself that she'd like to stay permanently which was a huge surprise to us all. Mum stated that she was happy there, the staff were lovely, she liked most of the other residents, she enjoyed the food and had a laugh. When asked if there was anything she didn't like, she couldn't think of anything. 7 months on and mum is happier than I've ever known her to be. She has a much better appetite, joins in activities, has constant company, is encouraged to remain independent and most of all is safe and well cared for in a friendly environment. We couldn't be happier for her.

Despite my wife and I's apprehension it has to be said that the staff, the property, the care and the ambience pervading the home have been life-changing, Mother is happy, safe and extremely well cared for. The best way that I can describe the satisfaction we have with the home life is to quote Mother when recently asked about if she was happy, replied "I am content here" which is a miracle due in no small part to the marvellous staff.

My mum died on May 8th. The home manager and her amazing staff took so much care of Mum and us during the days leading up to her death and made us feel so comforted and supported. Despite all that they had to do, nothing was too much trouble, from making cups of tea, to talking to us, taking so much care with Mum and making sure we were coping. They all felt like family and were there for us no matter what time of day or night. Our family miss them all and we can't thank them enough for the care and love they showed Mum and us. Love to you all.

The home itself and its rooms are extremely clean.

We honestly cannot fault the care that my father-in-law has received since becoming a resident in September. Nothing is too much trouble, the staff are very friendly and provide an excellent level of care for all of the residents.

I honestly cannot rate the staff and the care that Dad has been given highly enough. The care, concern and dignity that Dad has been treated with since being discharged from hospital in September is exemplary. Nothing is too much trouble. All of the staff are always friendly and approachable and treat all of the residents with care. The staff, led by the manager have taken the time to get to know Dad and ensure that he is always settled, safe and as relaxed as possible. The peace of mind that this gives us as a family is immeasurable.

My dad came to Woolton Grange after being discharged from hospital after a period of declining health after we lost Mum, his wife of 50 years. He has been welcomed with open arms. The staff have taken their time getting to know him and work around his anxieties. I couldn’t possibly thank them enough. The feeling of reassurance that he is safe and well cared for is unmeasurable.

Overall the care is excellent.

Excellent care and compassion given by staff to all residents everytime I have been to visit, good to see fun and varied daily activities offered and enjoyed by many residents. Well run value for money care home.

The staff have made Mother so comfortable nothing is any trouble. They always treat her with dignity and the other residents. The staff always welcome us and are friendly they are so attentive and always able to spend time talking to us as a family about our mum's wellbeing and welfare.

There's always a range of activities available for the residents to participate in too. Thanks to all at Woolton Grange, you do a wonderful job.

The management team are very good at keeping myself and the family fully informed of any issues concerning mums health and well-being.

My mum was made to feel like part of a family, exactly what she needed; coming from the only home she knew. She has received first-class care from all the staff and management of Woolton Grange. Many thanks.

My mum is a resident at Woolton Grange Care Home. She has Alzheimer's and can be very hard work for the carers, but they are amazing with her. They involve her as much as they can and I have no worries over her being there. Her room is always immaculate. They always get in touch with me as soon as there are any concerns about her. She feels like it's her home and is very comfortable.

All the staff at this care home go above and beyond. They are all professional and caring treating residents with dignity. They have a variety of activities each week. My mother and others particularly enjoy the singers that attend weekly and especially the recent trip to the home by the local primary school children who played games and chatted with the residents.
