Woolton Grange offers a beautiful yet homely environment, ideal for long-term residential care, situated in picturesque surroundings and with award-winning gardens.

Carers offer residents and their families the support they need during what many find some of the most trying times of their lives. Families are truly grateful for the personal support they receive, when faced with one of life's very difficult decisions and the team pride themselves on continuing that support to residents and their families from the moment they contact the home throughout the whole of their stay and beyond.

The approach to care is simple - look after the person and not the ailment/condition alone - Carers want to get to know their residents and their families, thus enabling them to look after the whole person and not just to concentrate on the task in hand. Staff get to know their clients, who they are, who they were and how they have come to be at the home.

Carers get to know their families too and like to understand the dynamics within the family setting and how best they can support these as they build a relationship of trust. My stepdad is well looked after at the care home. He is happy there. The staff are warm and friendly towards each other and the residents. We have recently attended a family meeting and we are very pleased that the management is now able to plan more activities for the residents, including trips out
and plans for a dementia garden and lots more.

The hardest decision we, as a family, had to make was to place Mum into care, made so much harder by the fact covid was about and we couldn't see the care home or meet the staff, in person. Sadly, Mum's dementia progressed very rapidly and she became totally dependant on carers for all her needs and
the staff did not fail her. We could not have asked for better care. The manager and her amazing staff not only went over and above care expected in a residential home to make Mum comfortable, they also took care of us as a family. I cannot recommend them highly enough.

My nan, unfortunately, declined quite rapidly in her dementia and she needed constant care.
Due to Covid, we couldn’t go in. However, the staff are outstanding and comforted my nan and brought us such comfort knowing how well she cared for.

My father had some medical problems (not Covid) during the lockdown and became too frail to care for himself. The hospital transferred him to The Grange, and I was apprehensive as we hadn't been able to look around and choose a care home for ourselves during this pandemic. It was a very worrying time.
I am pleased to say that he is very happy and receiving excellent care - he says it's like a Hotel. My daughters and I Facetime him daily, and he shows us around and tells us of all the wonderful food he is eating and how nice the staff are. I am looking forward to the day when the Virus nightmare is over, and I can go in and meet the staff in person and thank them.

My mother-in-law recently went into Woolton Grange, the staff and management really helped her settle into this new environment for her after being independent for a long time, due to her having been diagnosed with dementia and it was not safe for her to live alone anymore. The manager and staff team
have made her feel at home, at first. it was very upsetting for her and family, but the staff team have done a fantastic job, and she is now quite settled and getting good quality care. Thanks to all at Woolton Grange.

Brilliant care home with brilliant staff. My mum is very happy here. Every time we speak to her, she thinks she's in a hotel. A very good hotel with lovely staff. Just can't wait to see her again once this pandemic has gone.

My mum arrived on the day of lockdown, 23rd March, she was so confused after spending a month in the hospital, but the care team at the care home were fab.
Although we have only seen her room it was cosy, and she liked the furniture.
Mum thinks that she is on holiday with lots of friends and lovely
staff who totally look after her. We have only seen her 3 times and those were socially distanced visits in the garden
The most important thing to us as a family is that Mum feels safe and cared for which she does. The care staff are wonderful, nothing is too much trouble and if we ring to see how Mum is you do feel like the person on the other end really does know your loved one. It's also good to see pictures and videos on Facebook playing bingo, doing crafts and singing. Mum always looks so happy. Spoke to her the other day and she said she had been watching the leaves falling from trees whilst in the conservatory, such beautiful surroundings in and outside. Thanks, Woolton Grange Care Home, which we highly recommend.

The main thing when choosing a home for your loved one; is the staff. Woolton Grange has fantastic staff, very caring and always very helpful. Remember, lush carpets and beautiful decor don't make a good care home, ( it's the staff).

I think the conservatory roof could do with mending, also should the hoist sling be left around the underneath of someone until that person is moved again, or removed straight away? I was visiting one day and 2 carers were sat while I could see a spill on the floor. Bananas and custard, the banana didn't
look too good. Everyone should be involved in activities. I witnessed someone falling in the lounge.

This resident has worsening dementia. She is generally well cared for and in the circumstances of her dementia and advanced age doing well. The carers worked hard to get her walking again after an infection when walking again seemed unlikely. After 18 months residence, her physical health is better
than I could have hoped for. Despite the confusion, she is generally happy.
