I have found that, without exception, the very professional, dedicated and caring staff have maintained and, where necessary, adapted their excellent and dignified care of my wife, something for which I am, and always will be, truly grateful.
Thank you for your kind feedback. We're pleased to hear you've been happy with the care and support your wife has received over the years. Your comments will be shared with the team, who will appreciate your recognition.
My husband has been a resident for the past 4 years. During his time there he has always been treated with care & dignity. It is not the best looking care home but the staff & management make up for this. A new manager has recently been appointed and is giving the home a complete makeover. You can see day by day the improvements she is making.
Thank you for your thoughtful feedback. We're delighted your husband has always been treated with care and dignity. It's wonderful to hear you've noticed the positive changes, and we appreciate your kind words about our dedicated team and new manager.
I have found all the staff extremely helpful. If something happens to my Dad ie a fall or something, you would get a phone call advising you what happened. All staff are truly dedicated to the residents, from the cleaners to management.
Thank you for your kind words. We're delighted to hear you feel well informed and supported. Your feedback means a great deal to our whole team, and we'll be sure to share it with everyone.
Brilliant staff and management honest and caring. my Dad has been moved about in the past due to not being able to settle in other homes and not connecting with the staff and staff not being able to cope with my dad but this care home has been amazing with my Dad and his needs . staff go out of there way to help him and also help me with feel very at ease that he is being looked after well and is in good hands .
Thank you for your kind words. We're so pleased your dad has settled well and that our team has been able to meet his needs. It means a lot to know you feel reassured that he's in good hands.
Excellent, Compassionate Care
My dad has been a resident at Evergreen Lodge for nearly a year, and I am extremely grateful for the care he receives. The staff are incredibly patient with him, even on days when his moods and aggression are challenging. They always treat him with dignity and understanding.
They consistently make sure he takes his mental-health and diabetic medication, even when he resists it, which gives me real peace of mind. He has regular meals, plenty to drink throughout the day, and the staff check on him frequently to ensure he's comfortable and safe.
What stands out most is how the team go out of their way to give him what he needs, whether that's reassurance, attention, or practical help. It's clear they genuinely care about his wellbeing.
I'm very happy with the staff and the support my dad receives at Evergreen Lodge. I would highly recommend this care home to anyone looking for compassionate, reliable care for a loved one.
Thank you for your kind words and for taking the time to share your experience. We're so glad to hear that you & your dad feel supported and cared for at Evergreen Lodge. Our team works hard to ensure his comfort, safety, and wellbeing each day, and your feedback means a great deal to us.

My relative has been here nearly 4 years and has always been very well cared for. Any health issues are spotted quickly and I am kept well informed. Other issues are also quickly resolved. The staff are always friendly and helpful. I have no complaints at all.
Thank you for taking the time to write your review. I am delighted that you are pleased with care your relative has received whilst they have been living at Evergreen Lodge. Our team pride themselves at offering excellent care and ensuring relatives and friends are kept well informed as to changes...
Building interior looks tired. Staff were very friendly. Our daughter went into Evergreen Lodge a really severe alcoholic. The care and attention given by staff and the planning to turn her around were very good. They seem to have a very good system to work with the residents to get the job done and to educate them to aim for a positive future.
Thank for taking the time to write such positive feedback about your experience of care you and your daughter have received at Evergreen Nursing Home. I wish to reassure you that we are working at updating the interior to bring it up to the same high standards of the care provided. I will certainly pass your feedback to the team who I am sure will appreciate receiving it.
My son has only been at Evergreen a month and we have been very pleased with the service they are very welcoming and helpful really getting to know my son and very kind and engaging. Rooms are very clean and the decor is in need of an update. The meals are lovely plenty of choice.
Hi, Thank you for taking the time to write such kind words. We are delighted to hear that your son has settled in nicely and is comfortable at Evergreen Lodge. It will be my pleasure to pass your feedback to the team who I am sure will appreciate hearing your feedback.
Prior to my wife coming to Evergreen Lodge the manager spent some time explaining all about the home and arranged for a time to visit. I was happy that he spent the time showing me around the home and answering all my questions. Although maybe the decoration of some areas is looking a bit tired my first impression was that all the staff take great pride in the care they provide. My wife has been a resident here now for nearly a year and my initial impressions have been proved well founded. Her room is well furnished and we have decorated it with personal pictures and a tv that was installed for us. The home is well-maintained, cleaned and her bedroom is always spotlessly clean and tidy. I am more than pleased with the care she receives as she is always clean and the carers take time to do her hair and make sure she is dressed nice. All the carers are in my opinion people who genuinely care about the residents wellbeing showing kindness and respect at all times.
Thank you for your kind comments and positive feedback. We do take pride in the care and support we provide so it's really valued to hear the staff are providing the care your wife needs.
My brother waited for six months to find a suitable placement. When my sister and myself came to visit Evergreen our first impressions honestly were not very good as we were looking at the furnishings and decoration. Do not judge a book by its cover. The staff are amazing, so patient and approachable. They have asked about my brother's past and his interests. They are honestly the best staff I have met.
We thank you for your open and honest feedback and value it greatly.
My husband joined Evergreen Lodge in May, my family met the Manager who gave us good information and showed us around the various rooms accommodating various types and mental problems. The rooms are adequate, and families were given the choice to make them more homely, so they decorated the room as we asked, put up family photos, and as my husband likes watching the birds, they put a feeder up outside his bedroom for him, there are familiar pictures on the walls and a TV. They have done everything to make him feel comfortable and treat him with respect. The staff are amazing, and treat all residents with care and respect, and know all their individual needs, as you would your own parents, nothing is any trouble to them, they have a calming influence when the residents are stressed and sometimes aggressive.
Thank you for your lovely kind words and you are very welcome. Rest assured we will continue to work with you and your family to provide the best care possible.
My husband has been looked after incredibly well since he moved to the home just over a year ago. I was unable to visit it beforehand due to covid 19. Had I seen it, I may have not admitted my husband. It is in need of some refurbishment and maintenance and new furniture. However, the home is always clean and smells clean. My husband is always clean. The carers have all been amazing and the manager has been kind, caring, and very supportive. I would highly recommend it. In my opinion, the carers at Evergreen Lodge go above and beyond in all that they do.
Thank you, Julie, for your kind words. We have loved having you both here as part of our family and we will miss you both very much. You are always welcome here to visit. Take care.
I will be forever grateful to the manager and staff for being prepared to give Dad a place at Evergreen Lodge after his discharge from the hospital and failed placement into another home because of the complexity of his dementia. At all times the staff showed him kindness and compassion and treated him with dignity as his illness progressed during the last ten months of his life. The knowledge that Dad was being well looked after and safe gave me great comfort. I can honestly say the staff are a special group of people who welcomed Dad into their family at one of the most difficult times with the ongoing covid - 19 pandemic. The friendship, kindness and support the staff gave as Dad's illness progressed and during his final days and hours will forever be a source of comfort to me.
Thank you for your lovely feedback it is very much appreciated, and it has been our complete honour to care for your father and yourselves during this time. He will certainly be missed and we will also miss you who we have developed such a lovely relationship and friendship with.
Mum had to go into care for assessment and due to Corona restrictions, we didn’t get to choose, initially, where she landed. We are so happy that she arrived at Evergreen Lodge. The staff and management are top-notch, communicating clearly and keeping family informed at all times. Mum was so settled within a week or two that she was quite happy and content to be there. The team also bent over backwards to ensure that she could be visited by a family member in line with covid restrictions. Despite having many needs, mum was well cared for and even started gain weight again. She was singing again and even though we had restricted visits, she was always brought the telephone when we rang several times a week and chatted away quite happily. Unfortunately, her many illnesses didn’t allow her long at Evergreen Lodge, but we gratefully thank the team for their loving care.
All the staff at Evergreen Lodge take such good care of my Dad. Words fail me - I can’t tell you how much of a comfort that has been these last 12 months. I know my Dad is very well taken care of. He is very happy as evidenced by how his health has improved. Thank you so much from all the family.
I can come any time to see Dad.
The strength of this home is in the staff. They are truly very caring and dedicated. They make the home a happy environment which is quite a feat in this type of work.
I find the home to be full of kind and friendly staff. The care my wife has is one of only help and love. I have been with her not only in the day but at night, also night staff are very friendly. My wife is very well looked after. The room is clean and tidy. The food is of a good standard. For my wife, her food has to be blended. I can go home at night and sleep knowing she is well looked after.
My dad spent the last 3 years of his life in Evergreen Lodge and I have to say the care he received during this time was, in my opinion, second to none. I must admit when visiting Evergreen for the first time I did have my reservations, it wasn't the newest or best-looking home I'd visited, however, it soon became apparent that what it lacked in appearance it more than made up for with the care and attentiveness showed to my dad by the care, nursing and management staff. In my opinion, staff often went 'above and beyond' what was expected of them and would often put themselves out to make my dad as happy and comfortable as possible. I cannot thank or praise the staff at Evergreen enough. If you are looking for somewhere for a loved one to stay take my advice 'don't judge a book by its cover', good care is far more important than freshly painted walls and hotel style bedrooms.
