Please inform the Home before bringing any pets into the home; necessary arrangements will subsequently be made. Visitors are welcome to make use of the beverage facilities and help themselves. For the safety of the residents, please avoid visiting the Home if you have symptoms of flu; however, do stay in touch so that communications, updates and possible visits can be facilitated.

I have been so impressed with the care & friendly attitude all the members of staff have shown to both my husband & also myself. It has been greatly appreciated.
during his last weeks has made his passing easier to bear.
Thank you for your kind words and for trusting us with your husband's care. We are grateful to know our team was able to provide comfort, kindness, and support during such a difficult time.
A happy atmosphere in the home everywhere.
Wonderful events and outings organised, catering for all tastes.
I would like an email of the events sent out early or in advance of the week as I don't always see them at the rear entrance and miss some things.
Thank you for your kind words and for helping us improve our service. We look forward to seeing you at many more wonderful events!
Mum has remained at Oaklands and feels very at home. The rooms are spotless and can be how the resident wants them, so its nice to have personal ornaments and photos around mum.
Food can't be faulted. Always a choice and if the choice is not suitable the chef will do something to order.
Care is fantastic, what ever time of day we visit there is always plenty of staff available and all are very caring. It's lovely to see the relationships building
There is a great social programme available every afternoon plus trips. We have participated in a few, sadly mum is unable to take part in a lot, but she loves to sit and watch.
Overall as a family we can't fault Oaklands and the care and support we receive which really does lift a very heavy worry burden from when our parents struggled to try and live independently
We were honoured to care for your dad during such a precious and tender time, and we're grateful that we could provide him with the exceptional care and comfort he deserved. We're equally delighted that...
Mum has been at the oaklands for three months now and has chalengeing behavior issues, we are extremely happy with all aspect of her care. All staff realy caring and friendly and go above and beyond. Cleanliness is excellent and mum always looks clean and tidy, food always looks apatizing and smells delicious. The leadership team are ways available and ready to help. We would recommend this home to anyone looking for nursing care, to us it is one of the best
Thank you for this wonderful review. We're delighted that your mum is receiving excellent care and that our team's compassionate approach is making a real difference. Your confidence in us means everything, and we're committed to maintaining these high standards. We truly appreciate your recommendation and look forward to continuing to support your mum's wellbeing.
From the request to enter as a palliative care resident, we found Oaklands to be really focused on the needs of my mother. In a very difficult situation they provided support and care throughout her stay. The staff were always attentive to us on visits and very kind. The transition to a nursing home from your own home can be traumatic and the staff at Oaklands completely dispelled these concerns. The staff were always concerned that my mum's time at Oaklands was the best it could be given her circumstance. They treated her as if she was part of their own family. There were several occasions when we arrived to find a staff member sitting and engaging with my mum, showing concern for her and human warmth on a simple and personal level. In the last few weeks of her life she was surrounded by care. We were also sensitively supported at this difficult time.
Thank you so much for taking the time to share such a heartfelt and generous review. We are truly honoured that you entrusted us with your mother's care at such a profoundly important time in her life. From the very first conversation, our intention is always to see the person before the condition,...
all her laundry is done perfectly.
Wonderful attention by some of the care staff and some of the staff spoke with genuine affection for Mum and knew all the little things important for her.
Mum appreciates the visiting hairdresser -
Lots of outings organized which is a lot of work no doubt to organize. Zoo coming up.
The meals are always lovely and good quality -
We are able to take Mum out quite a lot into town - staff very understanding on getting Mum ready in time.
With many thanks to all the staff for the loving touch - we can see how hard you are working and the demands are not easy.
Excellent cleanliness at Oaklands.
You all showed such warmth and dedication, and it really touched our hearts.
Thank you so much for everything you did. We will never forget your care and support.
We are grateful for the time and care you showed towards Bill and will not hesitate to recommend the home to others requiring the same, excellent care.
It has been a relief for our family to know that Dad is being so well looked after and we can now enjoy the time we have to spend with him as opposed to worrying about his mental and physical deterioration.
We would have no hesitation recommending Oaklands to other families.
Thank you for such wonderful feedback - we are so pleased that you can feel the dedication and care of our team!
The care my father-in-law received at Oaklands was gentle, kind and exceptionally patient! We are very grateful. It was really good to know he was in such good hands. The building is a lovely old-fashioned one in a good way, for elderly people. It was very clean and fresh, his room was kept really nicely. The manager is very kind and helpful, and the nurses are readily available to chat and help either in person or on the phone. The carers are so gentle and incredibly patient and respectful. Thank you.
Thank You so much for taking the time to leave such a wonderful review! We are thrilled to hear that you have appreciated our love for your dad. Your kind words serve as a great testament to the hard work and dedication we invest in our passion for care. Again thank you!
Mum has very poor mobility and moderate dementia and went into Oaklands on the 12th of December. After 4.5 years we could no longer care for her at home as she needed 24/7 care. We visited many care homes in the Chester area and decided on Oaklands because of the homely atmosphere, supportive attitude of management and the CQC grading of ‘Good’. It was also relevant that my Mum’s next-door neighbour had been at Oaklands for 3 years and was settled there. Mum is doing well and receives a high standard of care from some lovely nursing and care staff. The Sun Lounge at Oaklands where activities take place is a real highlight. I visit regularly with my Dad (90 years old) and we are made to feel most welcome and part of the Oaklands family.
Thank you for appreciating us! The care staff are so happy to hear your appreciation. There can be nothing to make us feel proud than having your appreciation. We will continue to strive hard to deliver the best quality care to your mum and to all residents who are living in Oaklands. Please always reach out to us if there are anymore support we could extend for you and your Dad. Thanks again.
I'm more than happy with the care my wife gets from the care home. I would be happy to recommend this to anyone. Thank you for your help, and I want to thank the staff for their help, so thanks very much from me and my family.
You are very most welcome, Cyril! We take pride in what we do, and we will continue to strive for outstanding care. Your wife is a lovely person and has been treating our staff as her family. Thanks for your feedback; I will share this with all staff!
My mum has been a resident now for three years. She is settled and content. I visit regularly. The staff are caring, welcoming and hard-working. My mum went into Oaklands 3 months before the lockdown and I was grateful I had seen her settle in before that commenced. When she first went in it was lovely as I could just pop in and out easily and frequently at any time. Lockdown was hard, peering through her bedroom window in all weathers. However, things are more back to normal now and I'm really pleased with the variety of activities going on. The staff ring me if they have any concerns and I ask Mum how she is when I visit and if anything is worrying her and she always reassures me she is ok. Overall, she and I are happy with Oaklands Nursing Home.
Thank you for your feedback! We are really proud of our team of staff - we ourselves have noticed how well they are working together and how much they care - I am so pleased to see that you share that view. Nidhi
My dad enjoys the activities and has made really good friends with another of the residents.
My sister and I wish everyone at the home a lovely Christmas and a restful New Year.
Thank you for your comments. We strive to provide outstanding care at our home and Oaklands Nursing Home is so pleased to hear about your experience with us. We will pass on your kind words to our team.
My dad has been at Oaklands for the last four years and is very happy here. He had a stroke and at first, was unable to communicate or walk, but with the care and encouragement of the staff, he has improved to the point where he is able to hold conversation and get around with the help of a frame, which has given him some of his independence back. He is encouraged to join in socially and has made a few good friends with other residents too. When I visit, I feel like I am seeing him in his own home and am welcomed by other residents and staff alike. Nothing is too much trouble for them and they are considerate of everyone's pride and dignity. Activities are constant and relatives are invited along to join in, which makes for a great atmosphere. Thank you!
We felt humbled by your review! Thank You! We take pride in the way we do. We treat your Dad as our own and he does treat us his children and we love him for that. Most of us find that we found a family in the Home. Treating everyone as their Mum and Dad. Family members like yourselves, who are...
Mum has been in the home coming up for four years. It is her home from home. The staff are amazing in every way. They care for Mum as though she is family. It is such a great comfort to know how safe and happy she is.
Thank you for such lovely feedback, It is heartening for us to know that you feel this way. And you are right, she really is part of the family. Kind regards, Nidhi
The recent appointment of a new and fantastic activities organiser has been brilliant. She goes above and beyond and she raises the mood of the whole home. The nurses work extremely hard and are very knowledgeable. It's a first class home.
Thanks! Your mum and of course your Dad has been a big part of Oaklands family. We are always grateful with the support you give. My team from carers, activities coordinator and the nurses would love to hear your review. This means a lot to them!
My mum recently passed away. She had spent the last 6-years of her life at Oaklands Nursing Home. She received amazing care and tolerance for her strong character, making her feel cared for, safe and respected. The staff were efficient, tentative and responded well to my mum's needs. Over the last month, Mum began to lose her spark, and in the last 8-days had begun to weaken. She was attended to with tenderness and dignity by the staff until she passed away and was at peace. Forever grateful.
Your mum will be greatly missed, and we are very honoured that we had the opportunity to celebrate her 100th birthday with us! It was an honour and a privilege to care for your mother here at Oaklands!
My husband has been here for four weeks. He is always clean and tidy, as his room. When I come to visit, the staff treat him with dignity and are so caring. He doesn't hear very well; I'm sure that's making caring a lot more difficult. He tells me the food is very good, and I'm nearly always invited to have a drink of tea. Covid is making things difficult regarding visiting, but it won't last too much longer - here's hoping. We are really happy and grateful for the care he is receiving.

Beth has over 20 years experience as a Registered General Nurse (Management, ICU, CCU, and surgical wards in various settings) and over 10 years experience in Management. Beth has added a number of improvements and we are positive that these will continue for the benefit of the staff and residents.

Following her degree in Modern Languages (French, German, Russian), Nidhi pursued a career at Deloitte where she qualified as a Chartered Accountant. Nidhi officially joined the family at Oaklands Nursing Home in November 2008, initially focusing on business development, quality assurance, day-to-day administration, contracts, billing and purchasing.
Her knowledge of the Home and its processes were paramount during the Home’s changes in Management in 2018. She worked closely with new Management, Social Services, and the Clinical Commissioning Group to assist in a smooth transition.
Since then, with a stable Management structure in place, Nidhi has been able to concentrate on Governance and oversight of the home, including her favourite part of all - talking to the residents!

After her Master's in Cognitive Science (studying the brain from birth to old age), Vidhi committed her time to Oaklands in September 2006, introducing quality assurance systems to the home, setting out and sharing the business plans and vision, and connecting the Home with the community and volunteers. Her Dutch family took her to the Netherlands in 2011, where she pursued a degree in Nutrition and Dietetics and worked as a Community Dietitian for five years in Amsterdam, specialising in Diabetes, Irritable Bowel Syndrome and Underweight. Vidhi brought this knowledge and her person-centred driven practices back with her on her happy return to Oaklands in 2022. Now, as well as Governance, she enjoys getting involved in clinical discussions at the Home, ensuring Nutrition is brought to the forefront of practices, to optimise health and quality of life.

Having worked in the Care Home environment for almost 20 years, Purity has worked with other providers, thereby bringing a great deal of experience and insight to the team. Purity has vast experience as a Clinical Lead. Focused and determined, Purity will ensure that “things get done”, and done so in the right way: she enjoys guiding staff to achieve and maintain excellent standards of care. Purity is innately caring and therefore a fitting addition to the Home that is Oaklands.
