Overall Experience
My mum has been in pennine view since last June and although upset and distressing for the family we feel we have made the right choice for her care and needs . She always seems happy and content when visit and the staff are lovely, friendly and caring .
Very attentive and alert even when busy they still have time to chat with you if any concerns or questions.
The food is very nutritious and always have lots of homemade cakes and treats for the residents for their afternoon tea/ coffee .
I'm happy she is settled as I can't visit as often as I'd like due to being a full time carer for dad who no longer could look after mum due to his mobility problems. I know she is being cared for and doesn't feel alone . All the staff love my mum

I'd recommend pennine view for your loved ones .

I am the sister of a resident and am happy she is happy in your nursing home. The carers seem to be happy in their workplace and this comes through in their care. The physical building is great e.g. separate room for privacy/fresh air and a lovely back garden (secure) for residents and visitors. My sister's room has an en suite toilet and sink and is quite large with a lovely view. Overall, well done Pennine View. Thank you.

The staff are very helpful and attentive even though he can be very obstinate at times. The only problem I can comment upon is we are still waiting for his eyes looking at with a view to treatment which would give him more quality of life.

My visiting experience has been good however I have only visited around 6 times. My Auntie has always been happy with the care. My Auntie seems to be ok. However some other residents seem to have to wait a long time for help! eg going to toilet etc. Good reception rooms not seen bedrooms. Could be better TV programmes/videos.

Without exception, laundry, maintenance, care and nursing staff, were all excellent. Could not ask for more.
Never once saw a resident treated with other than the greatest kindness and consideration, even in the most difficult circumstances.
A happy and bright environment.

The manager was extremely helpful and answered all our queries simply and efficiently.

My sister-in-law was admitted yesterday and the welcome was incredible. Made to feel welcome immediately and all staff were brilliant. It made a very stressful situation so much easier. My relative remained calm throughout and gave us a smile when we left.

If this care continues we will have no concerns at all.

This is my second review of the Care Home and follows the recent passing of my mother-in-law after just over two years in their care. Whilst my wife and I have always been happy with the care provided, the love and help provided over the last weeks have been exceptional with the staff going above and beyond to ensure that her final days were peaceful and she was not left alone. We always maintained a two-way dialogue with the staff and felt able to discuss any concerns that we had as they arose and received positive responses. Would I recommend Pennine View? Absolutely.

Pennine View is a lovely home. I knew it was going to be the home for my dad as soon as I walked in. In the short time my dad has been there, all the staff are warm and welcoming. They treat my dad with kindness, consideration and compassion. There is always someone available and the manager is always available also. They take their time to learn what my dad's likes and dislikes are and respect his wishes. The lounge/dining room is open and welcoming, always staff available, nothing is too much trouble. He is now receiving the love, care and support he deserves. Thank you all at Pennine View.

Mum was admitted on 31.12.2023 in a very distressed state following an appalling experience in a previous care home (admitted there on 08.12.2023). As a family, we have all noticed that in less than two weeks, Mum has improved tremendously. The care she is being given is second to none, and medication has been greatly reduced. Previous care homes were quite happy to keep Mum heavily sedated. All the carers at Pennie Vire treat Mum with respect, dignity and an understanding of her condition. Finally, as a family, we can rest knowing Mum is very well cared for.

This care home is just okay, the staff is okay, and the activities are poor. Not much going on in the home. Also, clothes and possessions seem to get lost. My wife was only in 5 weeks and she lost her watch and slippers. The room is okay and the food is also okay. Didn't see much of the management.

Pennine View should be the role model, the flagship of care homes. Absolutely cannot find fault with Pennine View. You gave my aunty the best quality of life you could for her short time in your care. I only wish we could have found you sooner!

What an amazing staff team from the manager right down to the cleaning staff. You run and keep an amazing home. You feel happiness when you walk into the building. A credit to all involved. Keep up the excellent, above-and-beyond work. Thank you for looking after my aunty.

Mum needed temporary care when Dad was taken into hospital. The home came recommended and it's lived up to expectations. It's always clean, the staff are kind and go the extra mile and Mum has settled surprisingly well there, given the circumstances.

Pennine View's staff have made a heartbreaking period much easier - thank you to all the team there.

Went to see my mum at Pennie View on 5th June 2023. She has dementia and Alzheimer's disease. Every time we go to visit, she's always smiling. She doesn't remember many family names, but facial recognition is good. She's so happy and has improved such a lot since she went to Pennine View. The staff are so good and understanding and stimulate all the residents so well. It feels like a restaurant but with homely decor and nice cosy touches. Mum was 92 years old on Tuesday. The staff had organised a birthday cake and singing. So lovely. We asked the staff if they would put a scarf round her neck as she always liked to look smart. So every time we visit now, she is wearing one and looks, and probably still feels, like the lady she always was. We are so impressed and happy with Pennine View. I have even told my children that if, and when, the time comes, I would be very happy to live in Pennine View, even though it is 19 miles from where they all live.
