Dovehaven Grove

Overall Experience 1.0 out of 5
On entering, we where advised and shown how to log in, then a male, presumed work there as he had no uniform on escorted us to the lift and then to the room, the bedroom did not resemble anything like the photos, did not see any members of staff, our friend asked if we would like a drink, she wasn't
sure where to go, no staff in sight, on leaving a lady who we had been told was a resident escorted us back to the lift and entered a code, had she not been there we would have had no idea, and the person who took us in the lift never explained about needing a code, again no staff about, not a good visit, sad to see residents sat in the passage way, one of which was desperately asking for help, again no one came, its sad to now see our dear friend now living in this environment.
Reply from Lucie Drakeford, Communications & Marketing Manager at Dovehaven GroveThank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We're genuinely sorry to hear that your visit to Dovehaven Grove fell short of what you expected, and we appreciate you raising these concerns. We understand how upsetting it must have been to witness what you describe, particularly when visiting someone you care deeply about. This is not the experience we aim to provide to residents or their visitors.

Your feedback has been shared directly with the home's management team and will be carefully considered as part of our ongoing work to improve communication, visibility of staff, and the overall visiting experience. We are continuously reviewing our practices to ensure our homes feel welcoming, supportive and safe at all times. Thank you again for bringing this to our attention. We are committed to learning from feedback like yours and making improvements where they are needed.

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
My Grandad moved to Hope House after my grandma passed away.
From the very first day, the care home has shown my grandad nothing but kindness, dignity, and genuine compassion. Every member of staff goes above and beyond to ensure he feels safe, comfortable, and truly cared for, not just physically
but emotionally as well.
The staff treat residents like family, taking the time to get to know them as individuals, with patience, respect, and warmth. My grandad is always spoken to with kindness, included in conversations, and encouraged to stay engaged and positive. It gives our whole family immense peace of mind knowing he is in such capable and caring hands.
The home itself is always clean, welcoming, and well-organised, creating a calm and comforting environment. Communication with family members is excellent - we are made to feel part of the team . Thank you
Reply from Lucie Drakeford, Communications & Marketing Manager at Hope HouseThank you for your lovely review and for trusting us with your grandad's care. We're very sorry for the loss of your grandma, and it means so much to hear that your grandad feels safe, valued and genuinely cared for at Hope House.
Your kind words about our team and the peace of mind this gives your family will mean a great deal to everyone here. Thank you for taking the time to share your experience.

Mum moved into Argyle Park 4yrs ago due to a bad fall at home and not managing on her own due to her Alzheimer's, Then covid hit which was hard for everyone, Katie and all the staff are amazing she's so well looked after she was always a fussy eater but she enjoys the lovely food they serve by the
fabulous cooks, The care my mum has been lovely as caring with a person with Dementia can be challenging when she socialises she enjoys herself with the activities in the communal room, the videos on the social media page are great as not living local and having health issues I've not been able to travel to see her as much it's lovely to see her on the social media page, This care home deserves top marks the residents always look happy and well cared for.

I love the home they have looked after my uncle mick and my auntie Nora the activities they do with the residents are great and keeps them on there toes. They don't just sit them all in a room an leave them to rot like other care homes that my boyfriends dad as been in an is in know. The staff are brilliant
always doing stuff to raise money for the residents and they take the residents out for a change of scenery. And the parties they have are also really good thankyou for everything you all do x

My Nan moved into the home in Nov 2025 . It wasn't an easy decision for us to make . David, Danielle and the staff team have been so welcoming , nothing is an issue , always happy to help!!
Before our Nan moved into this home she would sleep a lot of the day - her movements would consist of moving
from her bed to couch each day . Since being her the transformation is incredible . Take takes part in the wonderful activities daily Elaine and the wider staff team are so energetic and thoughtful making sure the days are filled with fun and laughter .
My heart swells when I see my Nan to happy and settled . Each time I visit ( a lot ) there is always activities going on and everyone is so welcoming . I also love that they provide their private social media page . You can see the joy each of our loved ones has . A definite recommendation from me and us as a family ! I've already shared and recommended to some friends and family and will continue to to so ! Thank you for all you do!

Very upsetting when my mother had to go into care as we were not able to look after her the way we should of
It was the best decision as a family we made
My mum has done more in Brooklands in the first 6 weeks
She is so happy there up dancing and singing
And they also take the residents out
Always
something going on to keep residents engaged
Can't recommend Brooklands enough

Granny has been a resident of Dovehaven House for 3 years. During that time she has been very well cared for and all the staff are lovely. The new management team that have been appointed have been wonderful getting to know the families and residents, listening to our concerns plus suggestions and
also putting them into practice. The entertainment over Christmas was lovely and Granny really enjoyed it.

This care home proved to be the best place for my mum to live out her days .She originally arrived for respite but after six weeks she decided that she did not wish to return home. This was due to the wonderful care , friendship, fun and camaraderie that she received from all the staff. It was reassuring
for me that my mum was being cared for in a place that she wanted to be in. She had deep gratitude and appreciation for the genuine care and kindness the devoted staff shown her. Also the location of the home was superb. Rural views and within close proximity to Southport centre and the beach. Being close to Southport hospital was very convenient for appointments etc. I could never thank the staff enough. A marvellous team!
Reply from Daisy Edmondson, Marketing Executive at Dovehaven HouseThank you for such a heartfelt review.
