We visited Avonleigh Gardens without an appointment and was shown around the different areas everyone we passed was polite. Right away we knew this was the place for mum, when mum was in Avonleigh we couldn't have asked by better care and support (even to ourselves the family). Every member of staff
was polite caring introduced themselves on first meeting. Each one took price in what they did. The home is a credit to the management and all the staff.

This is truly an amazing care home. From the moment they welcomed my mum, we could see how warm, supportive, and attentive the staff are. She has honestly never been happier. The team go above and beyond every single day to make sure she feels safe, comfortable, and included.

They run a wide variety

of activities each day, and they do a fantastic job encouraging all residents to join in, no matter their ability or mood. It's been wonderful to see my mum engaging more, smiling more, and becoming part of the community there.

The staff really deserve praise - they are patient, kind, and incredibly skilled. My mum can be quite challenging at times, especially during bath time, but the carers handle everything with such calmness and professionalism. They always manage to reassure her and help her feel at ease.

I genuinely can't thank them enough for the care and compassion they show. This home has made such a positive difference to my mum's life and to ours as a family.

Mum moved in on June 20th 2025. She took some time to settle, as in her fleeting moments of clarity, she would get upset, not understanding why she needed to be in residential care. Team Brooklands were just wonderful with her during these times, and now, she is settled and happy. The care shown, and
the fun they all have, is beyond heartwarming......and we're all very, very lucky, to have Brooklands in our family

After visiting Paradise House we decided it would be perfect for dad. The staff are all lovely and we feel re assured that he is in a safe place. The only thing we would say is if he is poorly they are not proactive at getting help, we have to request they get a doctor and it has on one occasion been
too late a response and could have been dealt with and managed in a more timely manner before getting too bad. We are in general very happy with the care they provide.

Brooklands Care Home

I cannot express how excellent the care is that mum receives from the team at Brooklands. David always keeps me updated and communicates mums progress frequently. Although mum has no capacity she knows her carers and responds well to them. They all show her warmth and make the environment as near to
home as they can. When a loved one comes into care there is always a fear and apprehension but the team certainly allow all those fears and it's relief to know mum is safe and very well looked after.

I would just like to say a massive thank you to Jane and all her team at Dean Wood Manor who cared for mum and supported us as a family through mums final journey. The kindness, love and support shown to mum will never be forgotten. It truly is a wonderful Care Home and we will be forever grateful that
mum was fast tracked back to the home from hospital to spend her final days surrounded by people who truly cared for her.

The care home is exceptional. Nothing is too much trouble. Staff are friendly and approachable. Though my mum has only been here a short period of time, the care and support shown towards my family is outstanding.

Church View Nursing & Residential Home

My beautiful sister has now passed away at Church View after over 3 years as a resident. I cannot put into words how thankful I am to the brilliant manager and her fantastic team. Everyone has given my sister exceptional care and outstanding attention. Church View had become part of our family.
Even
after my sister's passing, the manager still continued to help our family through a difficult and emotional time. Patience, care, understanding on another level was offered by all the staff. We will miss all our visits and chats. Thank you Church View for everything you did to make my sister happy and contented.

Birch Abbey

On visiting our friend we found her to be sound asleep and we were unable to waken her. Being concerned we called for a nurse and were told they were on a break. We waited for another 20 minutes and being unable to waken our friend we became concerned and called for a nurse to come immediately. The
senior assistant came took her blood pressure which was ok. We were very concerned that our friend was being prescribed 10mg of morphine daily which appeared to be making her drowsy a lot. She was not in pain. She appeared as if she had been overdosed. We have never seen her like this before. We requested an urgent review of her medication with a view to weaning her off morphine. When she entered the home a year ago she was perfectly compos mentos and independent and has since become very lethargic and miserable. We have seen a huge deterioration in her ability to function as a result of new medication and being deskilled.
Reply from Daisy Edmondson, Marketing Executive at Birch AbbeyIn response to your comments, we thank you for taking the time to write this but would like to point out that all medication that is administered to any of our residents is done so under the strict guidance of the medical professionals involved in her care and as such her medication has been reviewed and deemed appropriate. She has also undergone a review by social services who have deemed her to be in the appropriate placement for her level of need, she also has an advocate who is involved to ensure her health and well being are being prioritised.
