I cannot speak too highly of Birch Abbey. Mum was treated with respect and dignity at all times. From the minute Mum arrived I saw the genuine & caring interest from all staff, and everyone was committed to providing excellent and appropriate care, tailored to Mums health needs, personality and interests.
Mum was only a resident for a few weeks and I was assured & confident in the wonderful care provided to the end. A wonderful team without exception

I really can't express in words how truly thankful I am to all the staff at Dovehaven. My Dad has been cared for with dignity, compassion and kindness. All staff embraced his character and sense of humour, tailoring support to meet his needs. The person-centred approach to the care given was outstanding,
with carers really going the extra mile and being genuinely lovely and caring in nature. He had his favourites, (you know who you all are) who he shared lots of fun and laughter with. We will forever be grateful for the care, tenderness and support given to both my Dad and I at a very difficult time. A massive thank you to you all.

The care my grandma receives in Avonleigh is second to none. She is well looked after, cared for and loved. The food is all home cooked and they have helped her to gained weight whilst being in the home. You can tell the care staff all love each of their residents and help them to feel safe and at
home. As a family member I am so pleased with the care she receives here and would recommend to anyone for a loved one

My father did not want to live in a care home. It took him a while to settle down. With the kindness and patience from the staff on Coniston, my dad settled really well on here and he couldn't be happier. My dad describes Coniston as a 5* hotel. He loves the food and that there is anyways a cup of
tea and biscuits at anytime of the day, carers (all of them), he appreciates the love and the kindness given as do I. He loves that he has been supported in making his room really his home with his belonging. He loves the environment and the surrounding countryside and there is nature on the door step. Staff encourage my dad to pursue his interest and discover new ones. Coniston staff are always encouraging the residents to live their best lives and as a family member I feel that I am welcome and that I have made myself at home.
Reply from Daisy Edmondson, Marketing Executive at Callands Care HomeThank you so much for your lovely review.
We're really pleased to hear that your dad has settled so well at Coniston, and that he now feels at home, well cared for, and supported to enjoy life. It's also great to hear that he enjoys the food, the environment, and the little touches like tea and biscuits throughout the day.
Your kind words about the team's kindness and support mean a lot, and we'll make sure they're shared with everyone at Coniston.

My brother and I visit weekly. Mum always seems happy. The team provide good support to her. The facilities are good. The only matters I would raise are - Since her fall, there is too much equipment in her room, which could be a fall risk - Her hearing aids are always lost (3 pairs at least), no hearing
affects dementia. They should treat hearing aids as meds. Controlled on and off with secure storage. Apart from that, all good.

Visited the Home on 7th May this week, some of the residents were sat in the garden with Mrs N whom I was visiting, They were having a lovely BBQ in the sunshine the Residents where shaded by the lovely trees. The food looked amazing there were plenty of cold drinks on offer. There was music playing
and staff were interacting with everyone.
there was a lovely atmosphere and they were making use of the lovely sunny day, it was so lovely to see. I just thought I would send a review as Sue the Manager Stuart and all the lovely staff deserve the praise for all they do.
Reply from Jan Hunstone, Regional Manager at Westcliffe ManorThank you for taking the time to write this review. The weather certainly makes all the difference and gives the residents time to be able to go outside and enjoy the garden. I have passed your positive comments onto Sue and her team.

Dad has settled in and been really happy from day 1, he has been a resident for a year now. His room is always spotless, there's lots of entertainment and trips out for him to enjoy. There is always a choice of foods and lots of variety.

I have no hesitation in recommending Paradise House.

Avonleigh Gardens

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
My Father recently spent 2 weeks at Avonleigh following an accident involving major trauma and multiple surgical operations. His stay provided a bridge between the hospital and independent living, allowing him to recover and recuperate sufficiently to return home.

His room and the shared facilities

were bright, clean and well maintained, the meals were varied and the team ensured his medical and dietary requirements were met at all times, both day and night.

My Father interacted with a broad cross section of the Avonleigh team, all of whom supported him and ensured that his needs, both medical and pastoral, were met throughout his stay.

During his stay I met with members from the management, day care and night care teams. Each one was professional, helpful and engaged in his ongoing care experience. They demonstrated a dedication to their field of work which provided me with confidence in the care facility.

A big thank you to the Avonleigh team for helping in my Father's recovery.
