I have felt confident in the care my husband receives which is a great source of comfort to our family. The staff are always approachable patient and kind. They have taken the time to get to know my husband as an individual, learning the best ways to communicate with him and helping him feel settled, reassured & valued. The food is always good, cakes in particular! I look forward to the arrival of the Activities Co-ordinator.
Thank you for your lovely review. We're so pleased to hear that you're happy with the care your husband receives at Dovehaven House.
He was very apprehensive at first and reluctant to interact with either staff or other residents. This was due to a negative experience he had received at another care home. After a short time we could see the difference in Dad, he was settling in well and communicating well with the staff and several other residents. It is a credit to the staff and management at Dovehaven how they have accepted Dad and made him feel that this is his home were he can relax hopefully enjoy himself.
I have been impressed by the way that the staff interact with the residents and seem to treat them as individuals and try to provide the best care to suit their individual needs
They are always looking for ways to improve the care they offer and to date I would definitely recommend Dovehaven care home to anybody who's looking for residential care for their loved ones
Thank you so much for your kind review. We're thrilled to learn that your Dad has settled in well and is happy at Dovehaven House. We're glad that he feels at home and that the team are taking excellent care of him. It's lovely to hear that the team has made his time at Dovehaven House so far feel enjoyable and that his needs are being met - your words mean so much to everyone at the home.
I can't speak highly enough of the staff at Dovehaven House. The care they provide is exceptional. All of the staff are extremely helpful, kind and patient. Mum is very well looked after and kept happy and stimulated. It's such a weight off our minds knowing that she is safe and well cared for.
Thank you so much for your kind words. We're delighted to hear how well your mum is settling in at Dovehaven House. Our team truly appreciates your recognition of their exceptional care, kindness and patience.
My father-in-law has received good care at Dovehaven. He is settled and happy. His room is clean and neatly kept. He particularly enjoys watching the resident rabbits! He has enjoyed the food. The care home is always warm too. The staff have all been friendly, warm and welcoming. Many thanks to you all.
Thank you for your kind review. We're really pleased to hear that your father in law is settled and happy at Dovehaven House, and that he enjoys the food, the warm atmosphere, and enjoys the resident rabbits.
Granny has been a resident of Dovehaven House for 3 years. During that time she has been very well cared for and all the staff are lovely. The new management team that have been appointed have been wonderful getting to know the families and residents, listening to our concerns plus suggestions and also putting them into practice. The entertainment over Christmas was lovely and Granny really enjoyed it.
Thank you so much for your kind words. We're really pleased to hear that your granny has been well cared for during her time at Dovehaven House and that she enjoyed the Christmas entertainment. It's lovely to know the team listen and work closely with residents and families and are making a positive difference.
This care home proved to be the best place for my mum to live out her days .She originally arrived for respite but after six weeks she decided that she did not wish to return home. This was due to the wonderful care , friendship, fun and camaraderie that she received from all the staff. It was reassuring for me that my mum was being cared for in a place that she wanted to be in. She had deep gratitude and appreciation for the genuine care and kindness the devoted staff shown her. Also the location of the home was superb. Rural views and within close proximity to Southport centre and the beach. Being close to Southport hospital was very convenient for appointments etc. I could never thank the staff enough. A marvellous team!
Thank you for such a heartfelt review. We're delighted your mum has felt so happy and cared for at Dovehaven House, and that the team has made her stay enjoyable and reassuring for your family. Your kind words about our staff and location mean so much to everyone at Dovehaven House.
Senior carer and care staff are excellent. Management is questionable because my MIL should have received palliative care 3 days before her traumatic passing which was accepted by medical examiner.
MIL resident for over 5 yrs. No representation at funeral. No Sympathy card to family.
Senior management and local management leave a lot to be desired.
Suggest not our preference to recommend Moss Rd, but reality is a parent that has dementia cannot be moved after a period of time bcos it has become their home.
Absolutely no entertainment engagement with residents. Looked after dressed , washed etc but sat in front of tv in lounge or room.
Carers and Senior carers run off their feet.
When MIL admitted 5 yrs ago. Always a carer in lounge. Not any more. A resident can kick off in lounge now bcos carers are so reduced. Honest views
Thank you for taking the time to write to us regarding your concerns and would like to offer our condolences regarding the death of your mother-in-law. As the home is a residential home our residents are under the care of the district nurses with regards to end of life care but will relay your...
Very pleased with the staff member who assisted my dad in getting changed when his clothes got messy with his food. Also to the staff member who helped me find a pair of slippers elsewhere when we could not find a pair that matched. Always willing to help.
Thank you so much for sharing your kind words about the care your dad is receiving. We are so pleased to hear how well he is being care for and being supported by our staff at Dovehaven House. Our residents comfort and care is one of our top priorities.
I have been a resident here for 3 weeks and found the staff very friendly. I am going home soon and will miss them. I have been in other homes before but never felt settled like this home.
Ever since my father arrived here at Dovehaven House, the staff have been very helpful and caring towards my father. The food, washing and my father's needs have been met 100%. Nothing is too much trouble to help you and the staff are amazing. I give all 10 out of 10.
We so appreciate your 10/10 score! Thank you for your review and your comments, they are very much appreciated. Kind regards
My mother has settled in very well. Her physical well-being has improved so much this past year. She has never been a joiner, but there is plenty to interact with should she want. She certainly enjoys the meals, all freshly cooked. Plenty of tea and biscuits/cakes.
For myself, the staff are always helpful and engaging.
I’m confident with the knowledge she is safe, healthy and very well looked after.
Thank you for taking the time to write this 5-star review. I have passed your positive comments on to the home manager and his team, especially the catering and activity staff. Thank you once again and am pleased that your mum is enjoying her time in the home.
Many thanks to the whole team at Dovehaven House. The care is consistently excellent. Communication from Dovehaven House to me is also excellent. I am kept informed at all times of any issues surrounding Mum’s well-being. Furthermore, the team go one step further, by marking birthdays and special events, making them that little bit more special.
Thank you for taking the time to complete this review. I have passed your positive comments on to the manager and his team. I am pleased that your mum is enjoying her time within the home.
Nothing is too much trouble for them. I have no problem with Doverhaven House.
Thank you very much for giving Dovehaven House a 5-star review! Your comments are very much appreciated. Kind regards.
My mum has been at Dovehaven House for 6 weeks now. We can't believe how well she is doing and the positive changes we can see in her. She went there as an emergency placement after having a fall. She settled in straight away and the care and attention she got from the staff was amazing. They go 'above and beyond' to ensure her needs are met and have also supported us as a family because we were very worried about how she would cope at first. We can pop in to see her anytime night or day. Nothing is too much trouble and without exception each staff member we have met has been friendly, caring and professional. Mum loves her room and there is no problem with us bringing items in to personalise the space. She enjoys reading her book in their lovely garden. All Mum talks about is how lovely the staff are and how good the food is! We are so pleased that Mum has chosen to stay here on a permanent basis. Dovehaven provides an excellent service and should be very proud of what they do!
Thank you for your kind words, the team at Dovehaven House work tirelessly to ensure each and every resident feels loved, welcomed and cared for and that includes their visitors. We appreciate you taking the time to review the home.
My mum has been at Dovehaven House since June 2020. The care my mum has received has been excellent. The staff have always been very friendly and helpful to me. My mum has been very happy at the home, saying how good the food is and well looked after she was (even suggesting me and my husband book in for a few days because it was so good). I can't praise the staff enough. They are so kind, patient and caring. I would recommend this home to anyone.
Thank you very much for your recommendation, we do appreciate your kind comments about the team in the home, they will be so glad to have been recognised. Kind regards
My mum moved into Dovehaven House last August as an emergency respite case. We had looked around a few other homes and whilst Dovehaven House is not as luxurious as some, we felt the attention and time given by the manager and other staff were excellent. They understood that this was an emotional time for us and supported us throughout the process. After the respite period we felt it was in Mum's best interest to stay as a permanent resident. Mum is extremely well cared for. The staff are friendly, caring and have a good rapport with Mum. I feel they know her personality, likes and dislikes. They never stop working. The food is amazing (particularly the puddings) and the home is spotlessly clean and safe. Mum always looks smart, clean and well cared for. Her en-suite room is lovely and we were encouraged to make it personal with all her own knick nacks from home. Thank you to everyone at Dovehaven House, we really do appreciate all you do.
Thank you very much for your review of Dovehaven House. I am sure that the manager and his team will be really pleased to read your positive comments, as they work so hard to ensure that our residents feel safe, well and cared for. Kind regards
The face to face visits with my lovely dad has been so emotional and amazing, it was just so fantastic to sit next to him and hold his hand. I've been twice so far and both times have absolutely made my day! I just want to thank Dovehaven for making this possible for me and also to thank all the staff for all their constant hard work especially at these difficult times.
We cannot imagine how it must feel to be once again reunited with your father. We are so happy for you and all of our family members and loved ones. Your thanks for the team at Dovehaven House will be greatly appreciated by everyone. Kind regards
Excellent staff management and amazing care. My husband is very settled and comfortable in this home! He is always looking smart and well presented. Would not hesitate in recommending Dovehaven House to anyone!
Thank you for taking the time to write this review. I have passed on your positive comments to the home manager and his team at the home. Thank you once again for your wonderful feedback.
My aunt moved into Dovehaven House just over one year ago. I visited regularlyly until lockdown and observed that the staff are very caring and interact well with the clients. My aunt enjoys her food and is very happy with the meals there. She has a nice comfortable room. I have visited her today for the first time since lockdown in the new pod. I was happy to see her condition has not deteriorated in the last 9 months.
Thank you for taking the time to send this review. I have passed your positive comments onto the staff team within the home. The team always are striving to go above and beyond for all their residents to ensure that this very difficult time is as pleasant as it can be.
Wow, what can I say? The new Pod is amazing, and I can’t praise all the staff enough for what they do, to make each visit with my mum a great experience. Big shout out to team Dovehaven, keep up the excellent work you all do.
Thank you so much for taking the time to write this review. I have passed on your positive comments to the staff team. I am so pleased that the Pod is working as it should.
