My aunty has spent over 20 years living there and the staff are just incredible. For my aunt, the staff were additional family and for me they are friends.
I honestly can't thank them enough for the care given for so long and for the additional moving support shown recently, it won't be forgotten.
The home manager Rachel, goes above and beyond to make all the residents have the best experiences during their stay, relatives are also always included in the fun!
Manchester House will always hold a special place in my heart. Always grateful to Rachel, Tomasz, Vasi, Jenny, Elena, Lucy, Kay and all the staff (sorry I don't have everyone's names x) and in the words of my Aunty Eileen, Thank you very much x x
Thank you for such a lovely review. Reading your words, it's clear just how much Manchester House meant to your aunty and your family, and we're so grateful you took the time to share them. 20 years is an incredible journey, and it's a privilege to know our team became not just carers, but part of...
I was admitted to Manchester House 6 days ago for end of life/palliative care. The prospect of coming into care was daunting - but on entering I immediately felt good vibes - the staff were so welcoming, cheerful and professional. I'm very pleased with my room, I'm relaxed because I feel safe and supported by such caring and professional staff - I admire them and I'm grateful.I am lucky that I am still of sound mind and able to write a review for Manchester House. I worked in the profession for the majority of my working life and recognise high standards of person centred care. I would recommend this nursing home.
Thank you so much for sharing this. It's lovely to hear that you felt welcomed, safe and supported from the moment you arrived. Your kind words about the team and the standard of care mean a great deal, especially coming from someone with professional experience. We're glad you feel comfortable at Manchester House and truly appreciate your recommendation.
I would indeed recommend this cafe home, and as a resident, I feel extremely SAFE and SOUND. These two words are very important to me and express my feelings. The manager, Rachel, is fabulous in her leadership and management of both her residents and team alike.
Thank you for your lovely review, its great to hear that you feel safe at Manchester House and that Rachel and the team are looking after you.
Our son has settled very well into Manchester House and his health has improved.
Staff seem to have got to know him and his likes and dislikes and are very good at attending to his complex medical needs.

The residents are enjoying sitting in the garden with ice cream on a sunny day. We've had a lovely afternoon to cheer up the wet weather. The entertainment officer gets the residents moving and they all look forward to morning exercise. Keep up the good work, such a change for the better.
What a wonderful review and ratings, we do appreciate all feedback. Thank you!
The staff are friendly and create a good environment.
Thank you very much for your comments and ratings of Manchester House. Kind regards.
During the final days of our mother's passing, the head nurses on duty were showing so much compassion that it really helped the whole family feel at peace. Too many other wonderful staff to name but with heartfelt thanks to all of those working at Manchester House.
Firstly, we want to pass on our condolences following the loss of your Mum from all of us in Dovehaven. Thank you very much for taking the time to write such a heartfelt review of Manchester House, it will be appreciated by the team. Kind regards.
One carer is a good loving lady, she only works weekends. She always gives me a shower and takes her time I trust her a lot. I do have a shower in the week but can't wait for her, she a good listener. Very caring.
Thank you for this feedback and we will share it with the staff member concerned and see if she can share her expertise with other staff. Thank you once again.
Very friendly and helpful staff who made me feel welcome at a very difficult time. The room was clean, with plenty of room for an electric wheelchair and a lovely view of Blackpool! Set in lovely grounds.
Thank you very much for your review; your comments and ratings are very much appreciated. Kind regards.
My aunt's room is lovely and has a private patio door into a garden.
My aunt is very happy here.
Thank you for taking the time to write this review. I have passed your comments on to the manager and staff, who appreciate the feedback.
My mum has always been happy here. The staff are caring and friendly. The activities that are put on are always fun and as inclusive as possible. Never had any concerns about my mum being cared for here.
Thank you for writing this 5* review. I have passed on your positive comments to the HM and her staff team. I am pleased that the care in the home is meeting your mother's needs and she is enjoying the activities.
During my visit to Manchester House for my friend I observed a big improvement in general conditions for my friend. He has a brain injury and Manchester House is his second placement. In Manchester House, he looks nice and happy, looked after well. He was able to sit independently in a chair. He told me that the staff are very caring for him and helped him to get physiotherapy. He told me that since he came to Manchester House his condition is very stable. I notice that it is very friendly in Manchester House.
Thank you for taking the time to write this review. I have passed your comments on to the HM and staff team. I am pleased your friend has continued to improve whilst in the home. Thank you once again.
My time at Manchester House was enjoyable and I was well cared for. Below the knee left leg amputee, I got on well with all the nurses and care staff.
Thank you for taking the time to post this 5* review.
No problems, the staff are great and I've always been well looked after. I've been happy during my stay here.
Thank you for you taking the time to write this review. I hope you are settling well back into your own home. I have passed your comments on to the home manager and her staff team. We wish you well at home.
After an accident at the home, Mum wasn't well cared for and her medical records surrounding the care she received were minimal at best. The home could not accurately state what care she received during the time of the accident and the ambulance arriving many hours later.
Management of the home falsely informed me that medical reports had been returned to them and indicated Mum was absolutely fine by email. When later challenged this turned out this medical check and subsequent report never happened.
The staff do not use person-centred language when dealing with residents.
The COVID-19 mask-wearing policy was not followed with staff either not wearing masks or wearing them under their chins even during an outbreak.
I would not recommend this home to anyone thinking of placing a loved one here.
How saddened we were to read your review. We must agree to differ on some of the facts you give above, but as you know her reasons for leaving were nothing to do with the details you give. We wish your Mum well in her new home.
I felt all my aunty's needs were cared for.
Thank you for taking the time to complete this survey. Should there be any further information you would like to pass on to the home manager to improve our service then please let us know.
What impressed me the most was the kindness shown, and that was evident from everyone I met there. To see my mum's face light up was lovely - whether it be from a simple smile, a cheerful conversation, a passing 'hello, how are you?' or times where the staff would patiently sit with Mum or help stimulate conversations or engage her with subjects and activities she is interested in - such as birds and nature programs, musicals etc. Thank you.
Thank you for taking the time to write this review for the home. I have passed your positive comments on to the home manager and her team. It is good to hear that your mum enjoyed her stay at the home and she gained pleasure from the staff interactions. Thank you once again
My stay in Manchester House so far has been ok. I made some great friends with other residents and staff. While I have been here for the last two and a half years I was able to continue my normal life like still playing football for my hometown club and socialising with my family. Although I like this home looking forward to the day when I will be able to have my own place.
Thank you for taking the time to write this positive review. I have passed your comments onto the HM and staff team
I have been in this home for about five years and feel settled and made some good friends in this home. Sometimes it can be challenging with agency staff but permanent staff are ok and friendly. I just returned from a short hospital stay and am glad to be back.
We are working hard to resolve the agency staff situation and thank you for your understanding.
