Care Homes Owned by Dovehaven in Merseyside

Dad has only been in Birch Abbey a few weeks and has struggled settling in. Staff have been caring and supportive with him and ourselves reassuring us that it can take time to settle. All staff are caring and friendly and always have time to discuss any concerns or worries we have had. Also proactive in getting dad seen by a doctor when he became unwell. Rachel the manager has been very supportive with us. She takes time to check we are all ok, offering us support and guidance when needed through this very difficult time as a family.

Facilities would have been better if there were chairs for visitors. Instead the staff very kindly had to drag two armchairs into the room.

Had to ask for chairs for visitors, the staff very kindly brought two armchairs from the lounge. The lady we were visiting was very sleepy, which is unusual!

My sister, brother and family are very happy with Mum's care.

Nice view over garden from bedroom. Resident seems content and happy in her environment.

The person I visit is always well cared for, well dressed & clean. She appears to enjoy her food and the activities she takes part in. The staff are friendly to me and very caring and gentle with my friend.

The food for lunch, dinner and snacks always look and smell very pleasant lots of variety. The activities are numerous and the staff engagement is brilliant. Mum's room is always clean and tidy the cleaning staff always cheerful and helpful. She has continued to have her hair care, nails and dentist whilst there using all facilities. The carers have so much patience, always attentive and cheerful they made mum and us very welcome. The manager has also been supportive and has an open-door approach answering any queries helping us with the transition to mum going into a care home.

I couldn't be happier at the care and love this home is showing my 93 yr old mum who recently became one of their golden girls. It's really hard for the family to make this decision and that was recognised and made much easier by seeing how lovely Jo that works there helped us all feel so much better . My mum is singing again and always clean and fresh , seems very content and we are updated and made to feel included in her final chapter. I cannot thank Jo and the team for the respect at such a transition and the home is clean and tidy in a lovely location . Highly recommended.

The staff are lovely the mannagement is the best the food and activaties are brillant and the cleaners are the best Emma is the best manager the resdiants are lovely and its good to chill in the lounge and watch the TV

My friends mum has recently moved into maple lodge , I find all the staff friendly and very attentive to all her needs ,she is always clean and well presented .the manager has been very helpful and always happy to answer any queries .

Pleasure to visit

Today came to home's summer fayre. Again impressed by involvement of staff with residents & visitors. Lots of fun going on with summer fayre but at same time staff very quick and available to deal with my relatives specific care need. Thank you

Made welcome when visiting my friend. Staff are caring and friendly towards my friend and me.

The Place is filthy. Pine leaves on the lawn. Bird muck in garden. Cigarette butts, not cleared away. Tea Stains on kitchen steps. Patient bed was sodden wet, no water in the bedroom. Complained 3 times to Jan, nothing done. Complained about she should be in a nursing home. No effect. Now she has been taken to hospital. After complaining to Joe 1st and assistant manager end. After leaving this home, I'm now informed, they have ordered an ambulance

Only critisism would be trying to get in or out when visiting. Would be helpful if relatives could have combination codes for access.

The staff are interested, engaged and skilled. They organise plenty of activities, different types, different times. Staff join in with enthusiasm and sensitivity. Residents are well supported and relaxed.

The care delivered by the staff team here is excellent. The range of activities and entertainment is absolutely fantastic too. My mother is very well cared for by a team who don't patronise her but listen to her needs. The home itself is always clean and well kept. Brilliant - well done everyone.
