Inability to safeguard residents. Inability to treat injured resident, especially those who have been injured by the lack of safety precautions on site.
Getting registered vulnerable people, with safeguarding concerns registered against the residents, to take the injured resident in hospital is just beyond inappropriate, illegal and wrong on every single level.
Since the previous manager left as Manager this care home has gone through the floor.
The team take no action, no accountability, and leave someone on a section 3 unwell from Friday night to midnight on Tuesday / Wednesday evening.
Where is the duty of care.

I am in contact with Social Care and both MPs.

The staff are amazing. My father has vascular dementia and is very well looked after . When we visit him we see how the staff are with all the residents and they are very caring and helpful to them all . Stacy gave my father a haircut, shave and cleaned him up he was very pleased with it and had us take photos of him . Also they have entertainment on sometimes including singers which my father used to do in clubs when he was younger . The home is always clean and is very secure.

I found some disruption due to changing the agency staff recently, and the new staff having to get used to the residents' needs, hopefully this has been resolved.

My dad has recently moved to Deanwood Manor. He has settled really well and is enjoining the many activities arranged in the home and has even been out on a trip which he really enjoyed. The staff are wonderful and show respect, dignity whenever I have visited.
My dad has a good appetite and the meals are lovely, it's nice to see plenty cups of tea and biscuits being brought round.

I feel very happy he is supported, well cared for. As a family my dads care is of the up most importance . To all Deanwood Manor staff, please keep up the great work , it is most appreciated, thank you .

I would just like to say a massive thank you to Jane and all her team at Dean Wood Manor who cared for mum and supported us as a family through mums final journey. We were unable to meet the staff or view the home due to covid, however it was the best decision we could have made. The staff from cleaners to management always go over and above. They really are a second family. They are extremely experienced and knowledgeable about the residents needs, constantly reviewing and recording.
The atmosphere is loving, welcoming and calm.
At the end of my dad's life, they asked for him to transfer from hospital so they could provide palliative care. Staff sat and had their break with him so he wouldn't be alone, he was truly loved.
They treated him with respect at all times and made a difficult time that bit easier.
On the day of his funeral, staff lined up to pay respects as the hearse took him from his home one last time.

They are an absolutely amazing, dedicated team, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them. Thank you Deanwood for everything you have done.

Thank you all at Dean Wood Manor, now and into the future, from the bottom of our hearts.
Mum was officially diagnosed with Vascular Dementia in October 2022. In February 2023, she was placed in the first of 4 different Care Homes, all of which failed, due to Mum's physical and mental attitudes. Mum finally moved into Dean Wood Manor in October 2023.
The care and attention at Dean Wood Manor has led to Mum being the happiest she's ever been, since getting diagnosed with this awful disease.
Mum's general attitude can often be confrontational and difficult. All the staff at the home are so patient and kind with Mum and they can pre-empt her moods and actions and make her life more bearable. We really could not be happier with the care she's received over the past two years.

James and I are so very grateful that Mum has finally found a home at Dean Wood Manor, where she is content, with such wonderful, caring and dedicated staff, who really have her best interest at heart.

Both of my parents have been residents in other care homes in the Wigan area but nothing has compared to Dean Wood Manor. My Mum has been there for many years and my Dad was there until his passing in June. The staff are amazing and they really care for the welfare, health and wellbeing of the residents. They plan and monitor meticulously and I saw a marked improvement in Dad especially from the first few weeks of being there. They really are exceptional and communicate effectively with loved ones which is especially important for me and my brother as both live abroad. I can't recommend Dean Wood enough.

My mother has been resident at this home since December 2023 and a member of our family has visited almost every day. The whole family is very happy with the level of care she has received during this time it has exceeded any of her previous placements and Mum seems happy and settled. The staff are caring, attentive to the resident's needs and requirements, and always welcoming to myself and other family members.

My only criticism would be the standard of the tea beverage served at some meals. I understand that it cannot be overly hot due to health and safety reasons but sometimes it is very weak and insipid.

My wife has been a resident for 9 months and I am very pleased with her care, she is settled in the home and is calm and relaxed in her surroundings. Everywhere is very clean, all the staff are diligent, welcoming and especially caring. I just want to say thank you to all the staff for looking after my mum for ten years.

The home is excellent, staff always kind, and they treat everyone like family. Mum's room was always clean, but most importantly, Mum was looked after from day one. Even at the end, they stood outside when Mum made her final journey; I will never forget what they did for us from the beginning to the end. Thank you, Dean Wood Manor.

My partner was accepted into the home on the understanding he couldn't walk, the wonderful staff within two days had him walking, which was wonderful to see. The level of care he receives is outstanding, all the lovely staff go way above and beyond to help him even when his behaviour is difficult. He is always dressed, clean and tidy. The manager does an exceptional job always helpful and goes out of her way for her residents and also the visitors. I am so grateful my partner was able to go to this wonderful home. Would definitely recommend.

Grandma has been a resident for several weeks now and she settled in so well and we can tell she is well looked after.
At first we, as a family, were worried that this move wouldn’t be for her as she has had issues in a previous home but we have had no concerns at all. She spends time in the communal areas and engages in activities with the other residents.

We are thankful for all the staff's support in making this such a smooth transition.
