Dad had to move out of the borough to find a home that could meet his needs. Thankfully, he moved to Dean Wood Manor. The manager and her team are excellent. Nothing is too much trouble, everyone is always friendly and welcoming. We are 100% happy with the care that Dad is receiving. If we were offered the opportunity to move Dad into another home, within the borough, I would refuse. He is getting the best care available at Dean Wood Manor. Thanks to the manager and her team.
Thank you very much for your wonderful comments, the team will be so pleased that you are pleased with the care and your dad is '100% happy'. We do appreciate you writing a review, it will do so much to reassure those searching for dementia nursing care, which can be a daunting task. Kind regards
My sister-in-law was well cared for at Dean Wood Manor for five years before she passed away recently. She had been suffering from dementia for the duration of her stay and received excellent care throughout this time. Due to her condition, there was no opportunity for me to communicate with her directly but it was always evident that she was well cared for: always clean, tidy and well hydrated. The manager and staff took a personal interest in her and made every effort to make her comfortable. During the pandemic, I made regular telephone calls to check up on how my sister-in-law was. Every member of staff I spoke to was polite and helpful and made sure that I had up to the minute information. During the last year, there were many times that we were close to losing my sister-in-law but everyone took time to spend with her and keep her as comfortable as possible. Thank you to the manager and all the staff. You have been a source of support and comfort throughout.
Thank you very much for writing a review for Dean Wood Manor and we send our condolences to you and your family for your loss. Your comments will certainly be reassuring for other families who take the difficult decision to place their loved ones within a care home, especially when the care...
The majority of the staff seem to relate with the residents in a caring manner with affection. I am very confident that my wife is cared for which makes me feel warmth towards the staff. They tend to my wife's needs and show genuine affection.
Thank you very much for taking the time and trouble to review our home. The team work so hard to ensure that residents feel happy, safe and well. There is no doubt that it is a very challenging job at times and your kind comments about their 'genuine affection' will, I'm sure, give them a real 'boost'. Kind regards
My husband had dementia and various medical problems; he also had frequent falls. He became too much for me to cope with, so I had no choice but let him go. I chose Dean Wood Manor because one of my old friends was in this one, and I visited her and watched the staff. I have been happy for him to be under their care.
Thank you very much for taking the time and trouble to review Dean Wood Manor; we do appreciate it. Kind regards.
Fantastic help when we needed it from the staff with Mum's passing. Also, Dad is looking very well, not seen him like this for a while.
Many thanks for taking the time and trouble to review Dean Wood Manor. We very much appreciate your comments and ratings, as they will reassure all of those families who are searching for dementia nursing care. Kind regards.
There has been a vast improvement in the care home since new management took over. All the staff are loving and caring towards all the residents, which elevates a huge pressure from the families. I would have no hesitation in recommending this care home.
Thank you for your wonderful 5* review. Your comments will be passed on to the team at Dean Wood who will be so pleased to know that you are happy with the care provided. Many thanks for taking the trouble to submit your review. Kind regards.
Since the manager took over, Dean Wood Manor Care Home has improved 100%. The staffing levels have vastly improved, so too has staff morale making the care home and its residents a lovely place to be. All the staff now work together as a team providing the best care any family could wish for, for their loved ones. I would recommend this care home to anyone.
Many thanks for your wonderful 5* review, the manager and her team will be so pleased to know that you would recommend the home to other families searching for care for a loved one. The team work so hard and appear to have so much fun with residents. We are always so pleased to hear family feedback. Thank you for yours. Kind regards
Overall excellent care. The staff very pleasant and caring, and helpful. Rooms always clean and tidy, My wife is always clean and tidy and well presented. When you enter these premises your made welcome, also the home is in beautiful surroundings. Very pleasant indeed. Overall very satisfied and pleased.
Thank you very much for taking the trouble to review Dean Wood Manor. Your comments are very much appreciated and the team at the home will be glad to know that you are 'satisfied and pleased'. Kind regards
I can't express how much I appreciate the staff at Dean Wood for coming to my aid after my mam had a serious fall resulting in a broken hip! Both myself and mam was looking after my elderly dad with dementia and we were both struggling before she had her fall. I rang Social Services and after a stressful weekend. The social worker found Dean Wood and the manager rang me within five minutes, I was so impressed. They listened to me and gave me time to give my dad his tea and when we got there, they welcomed him straight away. Staff helped me take the things out of the car, clothes, medication, personal bathing stuff etc. The communication was excellent, they didn't mind me ringing asking about him. They had a pod set up so I could visit and see how he was, and he joined in with activities and staff took photos and sent them to me. He was there for respite but I would recommend Dean Wood to anyone needing a home for people suffering from dementia and or other nursing problems.
Thank you for your review. Your kind comments are very much appreciated by all. The whole team works hard to ensure that every resident receives the very best of care and attention. We also hope to extend that same kindness to family members as well. Kind regards.
Mum was admitted to Dean Wood Manor from the hospital during Covid, so as a family we were unable to choose a home that we deemed most suitable for her. However, we are more than satisfied and happy that Mum was placed at Dean Wood Manor. Mum is currently in Woodlands Unit. Her principal carer is a role model for the rest of the team and nothing is ever too much trouble, always going above and beyond. The care is second to none, Mum is always well presented, clothed, showered, nails and hair done. It often takes longer to do tasks with Mum such as at mealtimes but this is never too much trouble for the entire team on Woodlands Unit. She is treated with respect and love. I feel like Mum is treated as a family member and it is such a relief knowing that Mum is being looked after so well, especially in the current circumstances. Thank you to the team at Deanwood Manor especially Woodlands Unit for their care and support shown to our loved ones.
Thank you for your 5* review, it is very much appreciated by the whole team. Your words will do much to reassure others about bringing their loved ones to a care home at this time. Kind regards.
Thank you so much to the team at Dean Wood Manor, especially the Woodlands Unit, for their care, love and support shown to my Grandma. Grandma entered Dean Wood during the Covid pandemic which was unsettling for her and us as a family as we did not know much about the home and could not view it beforehand. However, we were quick to realise that the staff are fantastic, treating our relative like their own, with complete dignity and respect. Recent new management has changed ways of working and this has only served to enhance the care and support my grandma receives. Special mention to the Woodlands Unit for everything you do for our loved ones whilst they are in your care.
What a wonderful, touching review. Thank you for rating us 5 stars, it means so much to the team to be recognised for all that they do for residents. A special 'well done' to the Woodlands of course. Kind regards.
My mum was moved to Dean Wood Manor last July, during COVID. I had to move her quick and I was aware this home had bad reviews over the last so many years. Various people I know advised me not to send my mum there! I believe everything can improve with the right company and manager and Deanwood definitely has, management and staff have worked so hard these last 12 months throughout Covid. My mum arrived at Deanwood in July, due to Covid I had to leave her on the doorstep with people who didn’t know her and she didn’t know them, it broke my heart. I would like to thank everyone from the bottom of my heart for looking after my mum so well, the last home made her move ASAP as they couldn’t cope with her! She is so settled at Deanwood. Her behaviours have calmed so much, she doesn’t take hardly any of the meds she was taking to calm her at the last home. She is happy, comfortable and enjoying her life.
We want to thank you for your wonderful review. To know that after all of the uncertainty and worry, your mum is 'happy, comfortable and enjoying her life' is all we need to know. Thank you for sharing your experience of how the home is today, how the team's dedication and care is making all of the difference in the world to residents and their families. Kind regards.
I have always found Dean Wood Manor care home to be a friendly and welcoming place to visit over a period of two years. I have visited at least four times a week over this period and have always found everything quite good. The staff have always been helpful with my wife and I have been very pleased with the care she has received.
Thank you so much for your kind words. We at Dean Wood Manor really appreciate your comments.
My husband only went to Deanwood a few weeks ago so I didn't get a chance to see much before the virus lockdown. Everyone has been very good and kind, especially one of the carers doing video chats to us.
Thank you for your kind words, we at Dean Wood Manor really appreciate it.
I live over 100 miles away from the home so visiting is often difficult. However, on every occasion I have found Mum in good spirits and well cared for. The staff have an excellent attitude and are always helpful and supportive. They maintain regular contact with me by phone and I feel part of Mum's care. I have no concerns leaving Mum in their care. During the COVID-19 lockdown they have been excellent.
Thank you for your kind words, our residents well being and happiness is essential. We really appreciate your review.
