Ashton View Care Home

My mum had 3 falls in 4 days, after her 2nd fall she should have gone to hospital but that never happened only 111 was phoned. They next morning my mum fell out of bed, she was left all day until 4pm when she became unresponsive. At the hospital we got told she had broken her hip. My mum was left 10hours without any medical attention with a broken hip, she would have been in agony and no one noticed the massive bruising all over her back and bum and nothing got done. The care home say her bed had been lowered and a crash mat was in place but we know they are lying it was never in her room and IF it was how did my mum sustain those injuries because she wouldn't have a broken hip if it had been down, they are a disgrace for how they have treated my mum. She was also dehydrated because they do not give enough fluids during the day and they are all agency staff on at night.

Dad has been resident at Ashton View for a number of years. He has always had excellent care. Staff interact with him, even though in the last few months his condition deteriorated such that he did not respond. They have kept family informed throughout and showed great empathy and respect when he finally passed away this month.

My dad was transferred from hospital and as soon as he arrived he was washed and dressed he was end of life what the staff did for him was amazing so much empathy. As soon as I saw the care home I was relaxed

They did a fantastic job and I would say that I would that this home made me happy

My mum was only in Ashton View Care Home for a matter of weeks before she passed away but for the short time she was there, the care staff and management were excellent. Staff made sure she was supported in all personal care and her appearance, she was offered drinks and snacks frequently. We as a family were looked after brilliantly, which was so appreciated near mum's end of life. Really recommend Ashton View.

The home and staff have provided exceptional care for my dad and support for family members during a very difficult time. They are always welcoming and hospitable. The manager and team keep us well informed and up to date despite their workload, nothing is too much trouble. When informing the home of my mum's passing, they were empathetic and supportive despite having no responsibility for her. Dad has been a resident since 2017, and the home has improved year on year.

They are a credit to them selves and the home .

My mother in law is very happy at Ashton View. She is well cared for by great staff who are caring and empathetic to the residents needs. The overall quality and cleanliness of the building is very good which makes Ashton View a good environment when visiting.

I travel down to visit my best friend and his father. The staff are always welcoming and friendly, even if I visit on my own! I follow the social media page and it is a joy seeing all the activities and trips out that the home provide. You can clearly see the residents are happy and well looked after. My father recently passed from Alzheimer's, and the home community is so important!

Ashton View Care Home is the best. I would recommend Ashton View to anyone. The management and staff are fantastic looking after her care and needs and support me when I need it. I miss her not being at home with me but I am content knowing she is safe and being well looked after and cared for. I cannot thank the staff enough for what they do for her, please accept my heartfelt thanks and gratitude for what you do for her. Thank you so much.

Overall the inside needs improvement and people would be put of by this, but for myself, I looked beyond this, the staff and standard of care is totally outstanding to each and every client. So warm, welcoming, friendly and very educated to each individuals needs, nothing is every to much trouble,a always well staffed and client never left unattended, the client are away very Tidy and clean, Well dressed, the meals are very high quality and snaks Given throughout the day, its always warm, the clients are stimulated and regular moved to support pressure I'm overwelmed to how outstanding this service is ran. I am very impressed by the care my partner's mum receives at Ashton View Care Home. The staff are excellent; they treat everyone with respect and dignity and every time I visit I am impressed with the loving care they give to residents. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff at Ashton View and this can be seen when visiting by the way they are attentive and focused on the individual needs of every resident. The Gerard unit where my partner's mum resides is extremely well managed and run by loving, caring staff and I am confident that she is receiving the highest standard of care. To sum up I would describe the staff as professional and dedicated whilst at the same time compassionate, thoughtful and caring, providing an environment that is welcoming to residents and visitors alike. The staff are what makes Ashton View special. After experiencing a number of other care homes I would not hesitate to recommend Ashton View Care Home. Thank you to everyone

Gerrard community have the most amazing and caring staff. My dad became a resident this year. As a retired nurse myself I can only thank them for all they do. The staff update us regularly on my dads behaviour, well-being and care. They constantly keep us up to date and informed in all aspects of his care. They genuinely care about all of their residents. Thank you so much

On each visit to see him we were always treated by friendly and cheerful staff and are confident he is getting the best of care.

Each time we visited we always found the staff friendly and welcoming and very attentive to him.

My brother in law has been in Ashton View for a few months. he has gained back his confidents back and social skills, I was unsure at him going into the home, but I didn't need to be worried the staff are amazing and approachable keeping me informed of his well being. always something going on within the home plus trips out, the managers door is always open if any concerns, Definitely chosen the right home for him.

Overall impression of the care home is excellent. I am particularly impressed with the attentive care given to Dad by all the staff, managers, carers and assistants. I am also impressed their staff have encouraged Dad to participate in events which he seems to enjoy. Dad has always been a solitary person but was showing signs of anxiety at home alone. He is now completely relaxed so I can only thank the staff for all they do.

I found the staff to be very welcoming and friendly. The residents appear to be well looked after and settled. The care home has a very homely atmosphere and feel. The staff are attentive to the needs of the residents. I feel that my father-in-law is settled in the care home and seems content.

It was wonderful to see the resident well cared for and comfortable in his favourite chair. I had never visited before and appreciated the bay window (with his cards) and the fireplace and Christmas tree looking like a lovely lounge room. The staff were friendly and most attentive to the residents. It is a peace of mind knowing he lives here. Thank you.
