My husband has been in Ashton View now for Approx ten months now. During his time in the nursing home, he has been treated with the upmost respect and compassion by all members of staff. My husband's designated nurse and key worker in my view go above and beyond. They also make me feel at ease if I
have had a bad visit. Last month my husband didn’t look well at all however thanks again to the team at Ashton View there are glimpses of my husband again he had us smiling today playing my grandson's little guitar.

My mum moved to this home on 2/3/2023 and she settled in straight away. The staff made her feel welcome from the first minute she got there. The food is much better than her previous home she was in and so is the entertainment. After only being there for three days, they took her to watch her favourite
football team, she was buzzing. They are taking such care of my mum, I can't recommend the home highly enough, she loves it.

My niece has been in Ashton View Care Home for 2 years. I and my brother in law cannot speak too highly of the care and attention she has received. The staff always have a smile and nothing is too much trouble. When we chose Ashton View Care Home we certainly chose the right one, they are like a family.

I can give you my opinion of Ashton View in one word - wonderful.
The home is run by friendly people who are dedicated, from the management to the ladies who do the cleaning.
In the three years my daughter has been there, I have never doubted that I made the right choice in choosing Ashton View.

Staff are amazing, care and help for my husband is above and beyond. Because of my ongoing health problems, I am no longer able to care for my husband.
On Christmas Day one of the girls came for me, they gave me lunch and brought me back home.
They are fantastic.

Mum is a lovely kind person who suffers from Dementia and reduced mobility. Her mood and behaviour fluctuate. Although she hasn't been at Ashton View very long, the staff are wonderful with her. They have quickly learnt to recognise and respond to her needs. Mum lives on Gerrard Unit. The staff on
this unit are a great team. I cannot mention them all for fear of missing someone. And I wouldn't want to do that. Because everyone on that unit whether nurse, carer, cleaner, cook, or activity coordinator, works so very hard in difficult circumstances to provide our mum a safe home. Kindness, compassion, fun, and love are observed at every visit. Thank you.

I am extremely happy with the care and support my dad receives at Ashton View Care Home. All the staff are very caring and helpful. My dad's key worker goes above and beyond for him. She has made dad feel at home and always has a lot of time for him and his family. She has been very supportive
towards us all, which has made us very happy knowing that dads getting the care he needs. All the staff are genuinely compassionate and empathetic and a true credit to the home. I highly recommend the home.

When choosing a care home, I would recommend that you look at the CQC report for this home before making a choice. Having had a very unpleasant experience with my aunt and all aspects of this home I would urge caution.

During the pandemic my grandma turned 90, obviously, we were unable to celebrate with my grandma how we would’ve liked to, but the home went above and beyond to make it special for her. They decorated a room downstairs and we were able to have an incredibly special window visit with her for almost 2
hours. They’d quarantined her presents so that she was able to open them safely with us. Everyone at the home and one member of staff, in particular, made such an effort to make her feel special and we were so touched by their efforts.

My mum was admitted to Ashton View in May 2020 after a fall that resulted in a broken hip following the onset of dementia. We had heard mixed reviews but felt that it was the right location and place for mum. For a couple of months, I must admit I wasn't sure. We were struggling to get information out.
That limited our judgement. Along came an amazing new nurse. She changed the face of the communication and the level of care that we had seen in the care home. She had so much accountability and with her and her team, we had 100% faith that mum was being cared for as she would have been at home. She took the time to send us messages about how she was doing. Mum passed away last month. We were allowed in to see her as it was end of life and saw first hand the caring and compassion of the people that looked after mum. I'd certainly recommend anyone to be under the care of her and her team, but obviously, as she only stayed on the 1st floor, I can't speak about the other staff. 10/10.

I can not put into words the respect I have for the care workers who looked after my husband for the short time he was in Ashton View Care Home. He was treated with respect and dignity. The care and compassion they gave to me when my husband was dying was given with love and understanding and helped
me to cope with what was happening. Myself and my family cannot thank them enough, you should be very proud of all the staff that work at Ashton View Care Home. Thank you.

Current Review Score: 9.9 (9.896)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.9 (9.896) out of 10 for Ashton View Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 33 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 33 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.896 for Ashton View Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (356 Excellents x 5) + (33 Goods x 4) + (4 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 393 Ratings = 4.896
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Ashton View Care Home is based on 33 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 58 registered maximum number of service users is 11.6, which has been reached with 33 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
