My husband is looked after at The Laurels. The staff are lovely with him. I get feedback on how he is. The home is lovely and clean. My husband seems happy here. He loves his music and the staff see he has music on. He had been in two homes previously, I brought him out of these as I didn't feel he
was looked after. I'm so glad I found The Laurels.

The Carers and all the staff at The Laurels are excellent and the place is very professional. Very friendly, caring and passionate about what and how they look after their residents and their families. My Mum, at first took time to settle, but the carers and staff were patient with her and she is now
settled and smiling. Keep doing an amazing job. All carers and staff are friendly, helpful and thoughtful. They are a credit to the caring profession.

We, as a family, have never been at so much peace of mind, since having our relative in the care of the staff of The Laurels. The staff and management have been respectful, mindful and diligent in their care and welfare of our relative. There has been excellent communication between management and family
members.

Staff are dedicated to the care of the residents who they treat more as family than clients. That said they are professional in their approach. Over the last 15-16 months during this covid crisis they have put in superhuman efforts to protect the residents.

My auntie moved in early 2017, she has always been well looked after, to an excellent standard. All the staff across the board are fantastic, dedicated and caring, regardless of how busy they are they answer the nurse call and always make us as relatives feel welcome. They keep us informed of every
detail of my aunties care and they all go over and above their job roles to give good quality care. I couldn't have wished for a better team of staff to be caring for Auntie. They are a credit to the company and are worth their weight in gold.

Our mother came into the home on 23 December 2016. During her stay, she was treated and cared for with the utmost respect and dignity. The staff are always friendly and cannot do enough for residents and their families/friends, our mum made some lovely friends during her stay. At the end of her life,
she was treated with love, care, dignity and respect that could not be bettered by all the staff and management, our mum could not have been in a better place or cared for any better anywhere else. I would have no doubts whatsoever in recommending The Laurels for any families whose loved ones needed residential care.

Mum has been in this nursing home for just over a year and suffers from dementia. Each and everyone of the staff there are patient and caring with mum and all the residents. We are always made to feel welcome when we visit and given updates on mums health. Recently they put on a party for mums 90th
Birthday made a lovely buffet and birthday cake and arranged for an entertainer to come in a sing for her. It was so nice for us as a family to see her happy and smiling they gave her a wonderful day and we know that she is very happy living there.

Current Review Score: 8.7 (8.723)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 8.7 (8.723) out of 10 for The Laurels Nursing and Residential Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 3 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 3.8 out of 5 from 3 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.917 for The Laurels Nursing and Residential Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (33 Excellents x 5) + (3 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 36 Ratings = 4.917
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 3.806 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for The Laurels Nursing and Residential Care Home is based on 3 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 = 3.25
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 27 registered maximum number of service users is 5.4. 3 Positive Reviews ÷ 5.4 = 0.556
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
