Always a good experience going to see mum, staff are always friendly and helpful. They are all very busy but always find time for a little update and to see if I want a drink. Abbeycroft is nice and clean, and very rarely smelled of urine. My friend was in there 20+ years ago and it was not as clean
as it is now. The food looks good and is always a choice. I would say all over very good.

My father has been on the pathway, and the care and attention he has received from the managers and staff at Afton Lodge has been outstanding. He has been a resident since 2014 and has spent many happy years here. It was his home, and he had been so well looked after and cared for during his time there.
Thank you to all the team, this is such a lovely place to live.

It's really good to know that my aunt is extremely happy at the care home and has all her needs catered for. The public areas are always clean and tidy, and the management and staff extremely helpful, caring and approachable. A nice welcome when visiting is always appreciated, as is a lovely cup of
coffee! I feel totally relaxed knowing that my aunt is being well looked after and that everything is done to make her feel comfortable and well cared for.

My Mum went into Newlands Hall from Dewsbury Hospital. The staff were amazing at the home. Excellent care, can't fault them at all. Mum was very happy to be home and everyone thought mum was amazing. Every member of staff were great. Mum took to one of the Careers and he quickly became her fourth Grandson.
Highly recommend this to anyone looking for a place that really cares.

I cannot fault this care home or staff. My uncle has recently passed away and I can 100% say he was very well cared for by all the staff and nursing team. The home is clean, well run and homely, home cooked food.
The home is well run and organised and all the residents just seem to settle into a home
life. We will miss seeing them.
Thankyou for caring for my uncle over the passed two years, xx

Visited my wife's Godmother today at Abbeycroft. Was made to feel very welcome and really enjoyed our time there. The staff were very good and couldn't do enough as we had travelled 2.5 hours from Shropshire. Would like to say a special thank you for one lady who took her time to explain things to us
and made our stay very comfortable. Thank you all.

Residents not responded to when needing the toilet, and no dignity given to resident e.g. left half naked on a bed so that when they have an accident its easier for them to clean. No adequate pads or incontinence wear provided.
No one available to change resident at lunch time due to inadequate staff.
Had to ask for someone to support the resident to eat, they were more concerned about getting food on a towel. A bell is rung for support and no one comes, there is poor responsiveness to the needs of some residents needing urgent attention. Resident given a bowl of soup and a spoon to eat at lunchtime but they are unable to feed themselves. Its just left there. Cold food is brought to the resident and the quality is poor. The floors are dirty and the decoration extremely poor. No curtains at the residents 'social area' which is essentially a room with a massive TV. Previous resident in room had belongings left there (on top of the wardrobe).

My mum has been in this care home for 16 months. We as a family are very pleased with her care, the attention she gets from the staff is brilliant. They are a very caring and lovely bunch of people. I hope she ends her days being looked after by lovely staff. The cleanliness is also very good. I have
never walked into Newlands and smelt urine ever. It is a very clean care home.

I found the care home to be well-organised and professional with excellent safeguarding facilities. There is a caring environment and an emphasis on the encouragement of the residents to take part in enjoyable activities. All in all a secure, safe and caring home. One minor criticism is that very little
fruit is offered in the diet.

The whole of the time my mum was at Abbeycroft she was treated with care and compassion by everyone that worked there. The staff were always friendly and accommodating to both me and my dad when we visited, whenever we visited and it was obvious that the residents were cared for and looked after to
the best of everyone's ability.
A group of lovely people doing a tough job in difficult times for little financial reward, they have my gratitude and deep respect.

I have been visiting Afton Lodge for the past several months and I find it a very comfortable establishment. The staff are very helpful and friendly. I can't comment on buildings and facilities really because I am not on site for long periods. My aunt who resides there is happy, she always comments
on how much she thinks of the staff and she always says the food is lovely. I would find it hard to criticise Afton Lodge and being a care worker myself I would recommend it to anyone.
