This care home is like home from home. The staff are very dedicated to the residents. There is always some activities going on every time I go there. The care and support of the staff is next to none. It is spotless.

My sister in-law is very well cared for and looked after in every way. Staff even took her to local museums for extra stimulation, giving their own extra time. The care home is always clean; there is never any odour of any kind. Staff are extremely helpful and always cheerful and ready to be of service. Activities take place every day, and celebrations for birthdays or special times of the year always take place, with appropriate decorations. An excellent home!

My mother has been a resident at this home for about a year. She enjoys the staff attention and environment. She has just been taken out again. This time she was transported to the zoo. She has had many days out which she thoroughly enjoys. She is fed and cared for and our family are very happy with her situation.

Having moved Mum to Afton Lodge Bootle we have been shown nothing but compassion, Mum is being extremly well looked after I will say all the carers are so welcoming we are always informed of anything that Mum has done. I cannot praise these girls enough for how they are looking after Mum they all go above and beyond. The house is always clean, as is Mum.

She died peacefully while i was away on holiday, and as sad as i am that i wasn't with her, i know she wasn't alone. Everyone was so caring, i would recommend this home to anyone who asked.

My husband is here and staff really look after my husband. I feel like this is my family. I am here every day to see him. Staff always offer me food and drinks.

The home itself could do with a refresh and isn't very appealing inside. Rooms are dated and need modernising.

We are made very welcome by the staff when visiting our friend, and taken to a quiet, bright and comfortable room and offered tea or coffee. this has helped our friend settle in as this is what she would do at home.

Overall, staff at the home seem to be dedicated and professional. My brother's condition means that he has good days and bad days and that on the latter he is not as independent as he can be. I'm impressed by his key worker who is someone who fully understands this and is very patient with him.

My mum seems as settled as she can be, she has advanced dementia and can sometimes be difficult. The carers are patient and supportive and do not force her to do things if she doesn't want to, instead they offer encouragement.

Currently my husband comes to Abbeycroft 2 days a week, but also 4 week per annual respite. My decision to leave him for respite is based on our experience of daycare where he is taken care of in a way that is good for us both. He smiles going in and sometimes doesn't want to come home. The staff are so attentive and everyone knows your name.

Everytime we come and see out grandma we are so happy that she is happy - the staff are so attentive and caring they go above and beyond - Sam is great with all the residents she treat them like family and really does care - as do all staff nothing is too much trouble for us as family and residents. My grandma is thriving. Thank you.

Betty is extremely happy here as she is so well cared for . Thank you to all the staff, you are doing a brilliant job. I wish there was bit more entertainment for the resident , singers or even if Steven could have a tablet he could take round and play the resident favourite music.

My mum went into respite for 2 weeks, and settled in very well. She hadn't slept in a bed for over 12 years, which caused issues with her legs, but within the short space of time, she was back to sleeping in a bed most nights, which also improved her legs. The staff were very patient and encouraging with my mum getting showers, which I struggled with in the past. There was always a good variety of activities on throughout the week, which my mum always enjoyed taking part in. My mum is now there permanently, and she absolutely loves it.

My mum arrived at Newlands in October 2025 from Hospital. Since her arrival, she has improved so much and settled in so well. She is very happy in her new home. The staff are very caring and attentive and have made her feel so welcome and loved. They are all very caring towards her and treat her with dignity at all times. This has given our family the peace of mind we were looking for, knowing that she is safe and happy. Moving to Newlands has been the best decision we made for her and for us. The staff and management give an all round excellent service and i would highly recommend this home to anyone that is looking to make a decision for their loved ones.

Our family has been incredibly impressed with the care and support provided at this care home. The staff are warm, attentive, and genuinely dedicated to residents' wellbeing. The atmosphere is welcoming, the facilities are kept to a high standard, and communication with families is excellent. It's reassuring to know our relative is safe, comfortable, and cared for with kindness every day. We're truly grateful for everything the team does.
