Overall Experience

Currently my husband comes to Abbeycroft 2 days a week, but also 4 week per annual respite. My decision to leave him for respite is based on our experience of daycare where he is taken care of in a way that is good for us both. He smiles going in and sometimes doesn't want to come home. The staff are so attentive and everyone knows your name.

Everytime we come and see out grandma we are so happy that she is happy - the staff are so attentive and caring they go above and beyond - Sam is great with all the residents she treat them like family and really does care - as do all staff nothing is too much trouble for us as family and residents. Our family has been incredibly impressed with the care and support provided at this care home. The staff are warm, attentive, and genuinely dedicated to residents' wellbeing. The atmosphere is welcoming, the facilities are kept to a high standard, and communication with families is excellent. It's reassuring to know our relative is safe, comfortable, and cared for with kindness every day. We're truly grateful for everything the team does.

Always a good experience going to see mum, staff are always friendly and helpful. They are all very busy but always find time for a little update and to see if I want a drink. Abbeycroft is nice and clean, and very rarely smelled of urine. My friend was in there 20+ years ago and it was not as clean as it is now. The food looks good and is always a choice. I would say all over very good.

It's really good to know that my aunt is extremely happy at the care home and has all her needs catered for. The public areas are always clean and tidy, and the management and staff extremely helpful, caring and approachable. A nice welcome when visiting is always appreciated, as is a lovely cup of coffee! I feel totally relaxed knowing that my aunt is being well looked after and that everything is done to make her feel comfortable and well cared for.

I cannot fault this care home or staff. My uncle has recently passed away and I can 100% say he was very well cared for by all the staff and nursing team. The home is clean, well run and homely, home cooked food.
The home is well run and organised and all the residents just seem to settle into a home life. We will miss seeing them.

Thankyou for caring for my uncle over the passed two years, xx

Visited my wife's Godmother today at Abbeycroft. Was made to feel very welcome and really enjoyed our time there. The staff were very good and couldn't do enough as we had travelled 2.5 hours from Shropshire. Would like to say a special thank you for one lady who took her time to explain things to us and made our stay very comfortable. Thank you all.

Overall Experience
Residents not responded to when needing the toilet, and no dignity given to resident e.g. left half naked on a bed so that when they have an accident its easier for them to clean. No adequate pads or incontinence wear provided.
No one available to change resident at lunch time due to inadequate staff.

Had to ask for someone to support the resident to eat, they were more concerned about getting food on a towel. A bell is rung for support and no one comes, there is poor responsiveness to the needs of some residents needing urgent attention. Resident given a bowl of soup and a spoon to eat at lunchtime but they are unable to feed themselves. Its just left there. Cold food is brought to the resident and the quality is poor. The floors are dirty and the decoration extremely poor. No curtains at the residents 'social area' which is essentially a room with a massive TV. Previous resident in room had belongings left there (on top of the wardrobe).

I found the care home to be well-organised and professional with excellent safeguarding facilities. There is a caring environment and an emphasis on the encouragement of the residents to take part in enjoyable activities. All in all a secure, safe and caring home. One minor criticism is that very little fruit is offered in the diet.

The whole of the time my mum was at Abbeycroft she was treated with care and compassion by everyone that worked there. The staff were always friendly and accommodating to both me and my dad when we visited, whenever we visited and it was obvious that the residents were cared for and looked after to the best of everyone's ability.

A group of lovely people doing a tough job in difficult times for little financial reward, they have my gratitude and deep respect.

My sister has settled in very well at Abbeycroft. The staff have taken the time to untangle her matted hair, and encourage her to have showers/baths where initially she was reluctant.

My sister particularly likes the food and having a choice of meals. She may even be putting on weight!

Overall Experience
My relative has been living at Abbeycroft for more than a year now. She has settled in well and has gained weight and increased in strength thanks to her attentive care. She is safe, comfortable, calmer and less anxious about day to day happenings since moving in.
The care home staff manage all her medical needs and accompany her on any hospital visits as this is impractical for us. We visit her at least weekly and every time we visit her the whole care home is fresh, clean and well managed. All the staff are professional, approachable and treat my relative respectfully in a dignified, kind and friendly manner. Other residents we see appear relaxed and happy too.
We are kept fully informed regarding our relative's care needs, health and welfare and the manager is very happy to answer fully any enquiries we may have.

We do not hesitate to recommend Abbeycroft.

I have been extremely impressed with Abbeycroft since my mum has been a resident for several months.
The facility is well-run and well-staffed. The place is nice and warm and very clean. I feel that my mum is being well looked after and is safe.
Special shout out to one member of staff in particular who seems ever-present and gives me an update whenever I visit.

Very pleased.

My family and I couldn't be happier with the care my dad received at Abbeycroft. Anything we asked was never too much trouble. The staff were caring, compassionate and attentive. Thanks to the care he had, my dad was a much happier person throughout his time there. We couldn't recommend Abbeycroft enough.

My mother stayed at Abbeycroft for a period of rehabilitation following hospital admittance. During this time the manager and her staff of professional carers treated my mother with exactly the care and support that was needed for my mother at this delicate time.
By the end of her stay, they had nursed her back to the level of health she had before her period of illness.
I cannot overstate how dedicated and respectfully professional the team at Abbeycroft are and wholeheartedly recommend their services to anyone who would benefit from them.

Thank you Abbeycroft for the care and dedicated support not only for my mother but for all you do for the residents in your care.

My sister was discharged from the hospital to Abbeycordt for an initial 28-day period for end-of-life care. She wasn't mobile and needed a hoist to be moved. I found all the staff to be very kind, caring and compassionate to both my sister and myself, keeping me updated on a regular basis and preparing me for the end, when it came in December. Although the home is not by any way luxurious, the quality of care was exceptional, which really is all that matters for end-of-life care.
