Review from Susan P (Sister of Resident) published on 13 June 2022 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience

Today I went to Oaklands to see my brother who has been in their care for twelve years. It was the platinum jubilee celebrations and the staff had been doing something with the residents all weekend, the party they put on for the residents and friends and family was wonderful, the effort all the staff went in to make the day perfect was exceptional they had worked really hard to make the day as wonderful as it was, they should be very proud of themselves and I am so glad my brother is in their care.

Reply from Diane Solon, Service Manager at Oaklands

Thank you for those kind words, your brother is an exceptional gentleman and it is our pleasure to care for him. It was emotionally rewarding to see so many families come together and meet each other in some cases for the first time due to the effects of the pandemic and we are truly grateful for your continued support with our events.

Overall Experience

The staff at Oakland’s looked after my sister after she was left disabled from meningitis 3-years ago. Throughout her stay, the staff were excellent and provided excellent care. Through the lockdowns, they were amazing and helped us stay in touch. In her last weeks of life, they could not have done more for my sister or us, as her family, in providing excellent care with compassion and professionalism. They are all angels, and we can’t thank them enough.

Reply from Paul Jaggs, Strategic Development Manager at Oaklands

Thanks for your kind words, Aubrey. I have passed them onto the service manager and her team (and shared them with my colleagues as well). She wanted me to say, it was a pleasure and privilege to be able to help your sister when she needed it.

Overall Experience

My brother loved being at Oaklands. He was cared for with great professionalism and love, and my family and I felt like we belonged to the Oaklands care too. He was nursed through a prolonged illness and eventually died in your care surrounded by love and unquestionable care. My brother became part of a big happy 'family' at Oaklands, the atmosphere was always bright and caring, the residents were treated with respect and compassion and everyone was encouraged to maintain as much independence as possible. Oaklands went above and beyond my expectations, and I will always be thankful for the love they showed my brother. Thank you, and God bless you all.

Overall Experience

I think the staff at Oaklands are amazing! My brother had lived at Oaklands from December 2019 until his death in March 2021. He saw Oaklands as his home and extended family. They showed him love, patience and understanding. They made him feel special. During Covid, the staff have gone above and beyond what would be expected of them to keep the residents safe. It was clear to us that the staff were willing to put the residents needs first! I can’t praise them enough and thank them from the bottom of my heart! They treated my brother with love, dignity and respect when my brother died.
