I spend hours with my partner at Currergate every day, I witness the staff day and night with my partner and hear them with other residents, they treat everyone with kindness and care , fun and laughter. Like my partner, many of the residents appear to have complex needs, the compassion and friendliness shown from the staff in sometimes difficult circumstances has been exceptional. The staff have ensured Currergate is a safe and caring environment, one where the staff are more than happy to listen to residents and their families to ensure individual needs are met in a relaxed environment for the residents, even though its busy for the staff. I could never have imagined a Nursing home could have cared for my partner better than I could at home, but the staff , and I mean all the staff, at Currergate , and facilities ensures this is the luxury supermarket of Nursing homes ! My partner's life is enhanced by their company , their care and Nursing.
During this time she has been totally happy with her care and loves her room with absolutely no complaints about anything.
All the staff treat her as an older friend which l am grateful for.
I have found that senior management play a big part in the reasons l am happy with her care
My sister was in Currergate for 3 years. I live in Oxfordshire so was unable to visit her frequently but had peace of mind that my sister was receiving the best of care. She was looked after with kindness and dignity until her death in October.
I will forever remember when he announced my mum's first home was closing. He looked after everyone, the residents, the families, the finances (all current arrangements were honoured and carried forward), and also the council side. All we had to do was select a new Czajka Group home and the team did the rest. I cannot thank him enough for making what seemed like a disaster heading towards us into a smooth and easy transfer. His personal involvement, empathy, and understanding were exemplary.
I can not praise Currergate enough. All the staff were fantastic. My son and daughter visited Currigate when searching for a care home and were made welcome, all questions answered and shown a lovely room for my wife. The manager visited my wife in hospital and this gave her much reassurance. During my wife’s stay, nothing was too much trouble. The staff were caring, personable and went above and beyond for my wife and for us as a family. Every staff member - management, nurses, care assistants, kitchen, cleaning and laundry staff were fantastic. My wife’s room was lovely and the food great. My wife unfortunately died and in her last days was treated with utmost respect and dignity with outstanding levels of care. The aftercare for the family was also great. We are very grateful for the care delivered to my wife from Currergate.
My late sister-in-law had been a resident at Currergate Nursing Home for just over a year. We were not able to visit frequently as we, too, are elderly and live at the other end of the country. However, when we accompanied my brother on a visit we were impressed by the quality of the accommodation and the kind, professional care given. (There were none of the unpleasant odours and sounds that hit one when entering some other establishments). My sister-in-law was peaceful, showing no signs of distress despite her dementia. Her meals were served elegantly, despite needing to be mashed, and she was fed with professionalism and friendly patience. I would also like to thank the staff for the kindness shown to my elderly brother on his many visits.
My mother had been a resident at Currergate Nursing Home for about 5 years prior to her recent death. In all that time, she was treated with the utmost care and kindness; we had no doubt that she thought of Currergate as her home and the staff as her friends. The management of the home is exemplary, visitors are always welcomed and the atmosphere is warm and friendly. All the staff I had dealings with were infinitely kind and patient with her, and helpful and courteous to her family. All in all, a happy combination of professionalism and kind care, and I cannot thank them enough.
Currergate Nursing Home provided my frail, elderly mother a peaceful and safe home for her last days. She often said to me how lucky she was to have found such a splendid location. Her room was light, clean and restful. My mother had a good experience in her final days. I am grateful to all the staff at Currergate - they made my mother comfortable in every way.
We cannot praise Currergate Nursing Home enough for the compassionate and fantastic care which they provided to my mother before she sadly passed away. The nursing, care and management are excellent. Not only in their delivery of care but their communication with us as a family. We felt completely happy she was well looked after and during my mother’s time under palliative care, they looked after both her and us. Their protocols during Covid-19 have been second to none, with all procedures clearly communicated and we felt very confident that they were doing all they could to keep everyone safe. The setting is exceptionally clean, the rooms are lovely and they have a fantastic array of activities available for residents. We are so grateful that my mother spent her last months in Currergate with staff who are not only exceptional nurses but genuinely care about their residents.
The home has capable, caring and compassionate staff. It is set in pleasant, open surroundings and exudes an air of tranquillity. It is clean and tidy in a naturally beautiful building. I have no hesitation in giving it my wholehearted recommendation.
I have had a close relative staying at Currergate Nursing Home for around two years now. My brother and I have visited frequently and always been warmly welcomed. In my experience, the team at Currergate are extremely dedicated, friendly, and support all their residents with a smile on their faces. They work hard and are clearly devoted to providing the best care possible and especially through the last few months of Covid. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Currergate to any family.
My mother was resident at Currergate Nursing Home from August 2018 until August 2020 when she sadly passed away. She moved into Currergate after time in hospital and during a prolonged period when her health was deteriorating due to chronic arthritis. My mother had a number of complex needs and was constantly in pain. During her entire time at Currergate, the healthcare provision and the standard of care from the staff was first class. All staff were friendly and courteous and treated all patients with the care and respect they deserved. Currergate in general and my mother's room in particular was always clean and safe and although my mother was unable to stand or transition to a wheelchair, her personal hygiene was always maintained to a high standard as was her dignity. Although her immediate family did not live in Keighley, we were always welcomed to visit and always safe in the knowledge that my mother was herself safe, secure and being well cared for, including the last few difficult months.
I looked at many nursing homes near to myself (as I don’t live in the area) and have also worked in a lot of nursing homes throughout my career. I felt Currergate ticked all my boxes, respect, dignity, understanding, care and individualism.
At Currergate, she was looked after with exceptional care with dignity and respect and an understanding of her Parkinson’s disease.
Her personal care was outstanding, she was always offered a good choice of meals and offered dignity when eating. My mum had many days out and activities which she fully enjoyed.
All the staff were always helpful, friendly and supportive to myself but, more importantly, they really cared about my mum which gave me a sense of ease and peace.
Currergate has gold standard framework and specialises in end of life care, this was evident from the start. My mum was treated with dignity and respect at all times and staff could not do enough for us as a family. I witnessed staff spending time with my mum in between doing cares, just talking with her which was so important to us as a family. The care home kept us informed of everything regarding my Mum's care and called me whenever they felt I should be there to liaise with outside agencies. All aspects of the home are excellent including the food, the activities calendar and events that the care home put on. We even hosted my Mum's memorial service at the home with family and friends which was beautiful. Thank you so much to all the staff for making my Mum's last few months so comfortable.
