I first met Erica when she came to visit my friend in her own home and was immediately impressed with her, she was kind and compassionate. I have also had family stay at Herncliffe in the ,so I knew that my friend would be in good hands. The staff are very caring and made her welcome. Mark Julie Gracie Zoe Karen to name a few, sadly I can't remember all of the lovely staffs names, but everybody I have come in contact with are genuine kind caregivers. I would also like to mention the reception ladies, always make my husband and I welcome. I like to go at meal times so I can help my friend with her food and I can honestly say, I really fancied some for myself, especially the omelette with cheese sauce delicious

Herncliffe had been recommended to us by a number of people and, whilst my dad was only there for a short time, we were very impressed by the caring environment and friendly staff - some of whom went well beyond what we would have expected and indeed had experienced at other care homes.

At Herncliffe, my husband received outstanding care. All staff were caring, respectful & fully cognizant of residents' needs. The management I found to be superb. Whatever the circumstances, the staff had a smile & an encouraging word. They were patient, kind and maintained their professionalism, especially in challenging situations. All staff take particular care of the families of residents, offering just the right amount of advice & encouragement. I am delighted to say that I don't feel I could have found better care anywhere for my husband during the last phase of his life.

My lovely mum lived happily for the last 5 years of her life, in this welcoming, caring and friendly place called Garden Wing, at Herncliffe Care Home.
During Covid, it was hard to find a carehome to accept my mum. I asked friends and strangers, if they knew of a good Nursing home. Herncliffe's name kept popping up.
My phone calls with the receptionists were very reassuring. All went smoothly from there. My first impressions of how well mum was treated and respected have NEVER wavered.
We were welcomed as a family from the start and staff were keen to know as much about mum and her life so that they could support her and talk to her about her family and history. Her room became HERS and a very safe place to be. Mum was an anxious lady but she became so happy and enjoyed the sensitive, appropriate approaches to meet her needs from ALL the staff.
Thank you to the staff for always showing kindness, care, love and respect.

Your end of life care is phenomenal; so appreciated by family

My husband first went for respite earlier this year. He then came in for respite again but it became permanent. He needed expert care for a rare brain disease and remained there for the last three months. Herncliffe is a lovely home and residents and relatives are treated as family. Everyone is friendly whatever role they do. The care he was given was outstanding and at the end of life, all the staff were amazing and went beyond giving care, love and support to my husband. Our children and I can't thank then enough for the care dignity and empathy we all experienced. I would recommend this home to anyone. Thank you so much.

Excellent care home, all staff very friendly. Manager until recently excellent. The new manager hopefully will continue the ethos of family feel, residents treated like individuals. Activities are excellent, with plenty of stimulation. Also gave very good end-of-life care to my dad.

My parents are both residents in Herncliffe on Alex Wing, my dad has dementia but my mum is residential, they are able to be on the same unit which is great for them. The care shown to my parents has been amazing, nothing is too much trouble, their rooms are lovely and the facilities are very good. The only complaint I have is the food could be a little better, it’s not always very good.

When my husband came for respite both my family and myself developed the utmost love and respect for all the staff. So much so that he became a permanent resident! The carers are beyond carers and are family to all our family. Nothing is too much trouble, they are attentive and alert to every need of both resident and family and are just amazing. The home itself is spotlessly clean and welcoming and comfortable. I have no hesitation or worries about leaving my husband in their capable, caring hands. Thank you all from the bottom of my heart.

My husband was admitted initially for respite care for two weeks and then permanent nursing/dementia care. Although he has only been with the home for a few weeks, I am very happy with his care and also the staff and his surroundings.

I am always treated with respect, kept well informed in person or by text or phone.
I feel comfort in knowing he is in a very good nursing/care home.

Fed well, kept very clean and tidy. The staff are great with him and spend time understanding him as the stroke took his speech and ability. The doctor visits twice a week and sees all that is needed to be seen, physio is arranged twice a week, all staff are well-trained to deal with anything that needs attention.

When my wife and I visit Herncliffe we are made very welcome and it's obvious that the residents are happy, clean, well fed and the care shown towards the dementia residents is excellent. The displays around the rooms are so well done. All the staff are working hard to ensure the residents are kept safe and well and activities such as trips out and singalongs are brilliant!

Herncliffe Care Home is a joyful, welcoming home. All of the staff, from the receptionists, the window cleaner, the managers, the activities team and, of course, the carers along with the cleanser, caterers and all the staff who Mum and I come into contact with are cheerful, they find time to welcome, to talk, to value us a part of the Herncliffe family. I am so luck to have this team in my life looking after Mum treating her with such kindness,, dignity, understanding and commitment.

Staff are very caring, monitoring residents regularly. Residents are encouraged to participate in activities, but they do not push too hard, so residents still have some autonomy with decisions/

My wife has been a Herncliffe resident for 11 months now following hospital discharge after a catastrophic stroke. The care given at Herncliffe is exemplary and it's management is effective and caring. The whole culture of the place is good with a capital 'G'.

I have every confidence that my wife is cared for with dignity and appropriately and would recommend Herncliffe wholeheartedly.

My mother has been in The Garden wing at Herncliffe Care Home now for over 14 months and I can say that the care she has received has been excellent. The staff are very experienced and attentive, they are approachable and very understanding of the needs of residents and families who find themselves in this situation. The managers and owner are all helpful, willing to support families with any questions at all times, reception ladies are very welcoming and everyone gets to know you on a first name basis. Amazing place for anyone who needs care!

My father’s health deteriorated in August 23 requiring additional care, a number of Nursing homes were reviewed with Herncliffe coming out on top, the staff are amazing so caring and considerate at all times. My father is well cared for, additional doctor input is available through twice weekly visits or via the care hub line as and when needed, there are many activities with engagement encouraged but at residents wish. I would have no hesitation in recommending Herncliffe to anyone needing this type of support. Well done and thank you so much
