The staff have always presented as being professional, kind and caring. They have helped improve the physical health of my mum significantly in a short space of time. The communication from the nursing and care staff is excellent, as is their compassion in challenging situations. From the housekeepers, cleaners, care staff, and maintenance staff to the nurses, it is clear they are a strong staff team that works effectively. The meals appear nutritious and any requirements are catered for.

I'm really grateful for the care my mum has received at Anley Hall.

When I was informed my Dad had to go to a behavioural unit I was devastated as he would be so far from home and I thought he would feel lonely and unloved. How wrong I was. From the beginning until the very end he was among 'family'. The whole team, at every level, were kind, caring and understanding. Their professionalism and humanity were exemplary. In the almost 5 years of Dad living there, I cannot think of one complaint. He was loved, cared for, and treat with dignity throughout, despite his challenging behaviour. Carers who actually care meant I could sleep at night knowing he was in safe hands.

Well done Anley Hall, I will thank you eternally for being, in Dad's words, 'The best hotel I've ever stayed at'.

What a beautiful and wonderful nursing home with such caring and helpful staff. Nothing is too much trouble. From the office and management team, through to the nursing team, carers, chef and kitchen team. The well-structured team reflects the good managership and their emphasis on helping and giving 100% to the residents filters down throughout the care team. Entertainment, trips and support are evident daily in the home. We cannot thank them enough for the care and devotion shown to Mum throughout many difficult times.

The staff here have been so kind and caring to my mother, who is receiving end-of-life care. Not only have they cared for my mother, but also me and my brother. They provided us with meals, snacks and beverages at all times of the day and even through the nights when I was sitting with my mother. I cannot fault them. They have kept my mother comfortable and pain-free, which is such a blessing.

My husband settled comfortably into Anley Hall in December 2022. He is very well cared for by their wonderful staff who cater to his every need and at times calm his challenging behaviour. The staff are always cheerful and welcoming to visitors offering tea and coffee. Not only do the staff care for the residents, they also care for resident's family members, recognising when they are suffering. I have benefited greatly by going to the family support group meetings, sharing tea, cake and discussions with people who are in the same position as myself. This has helped me tremendously. My family, friends and I feel very lucky that we found Anley Hall to look after my husband.

The home is always clean and tidy and is well maintained. I have never detected any unwelcome odours. My partner always has clean clothes on. I have not seen (in my time) any member of staff who is not caring, friendly and there are more staff than residents. A recently established support system is a welcome addition.

My wife was taken into care in October 2017 after becoming unmanageable by myself at home. Nothing was available locally but social services gave me a choice of Settle or Blackpool. I chose Settle simply because it was easier to travel to. In hindsight, I could not have found a better place. She soon settled in and improved considerably. She was very well cared for by staff who obviously cared about what they did. I got to know most of the staff as well as other residents and their families. i spent a lot of time visiting and helping with meals. During this time I was able to converse normally with my wife. Then the pandemic struck, and visiting was severely restricted from March through to the following May. During this period the dementia progressed rapidly, such that when visiting recommenced I was no longer able to converse with her and i cannot be certain if she recognised me any more. It was very sad to see her deteriorate. However, she continues to receive excellent care right through to her final days, for which I will be eternally grateful.

My husband needed the safe care of a secure unit for dementia and moved into Anley Hall.
He has settled in and is being well cared for, by the dedicated staff members. The meals he gets are cooked fresh on the premises and he enjoys them. He has some challenging behaviours, and I am sure has tested the patience of the staff; but they all treat him with respect and understanding.
The staff are always friendly and caring of me as well and do all they can to support me on this journey as well as caring for my husband. I do not have to worry about him and I know I am free to pop in and visit whenever I want to. He also enjoys visits from our Springer Spaniel.

My husband is cared for and I feel cared for as if I have become part of a family full of caring people.

My wife has been a resident at Anley Hall for two years. In that time she has been cared for and all her needs have been met in all respects. She suffers from vascular dementia and despite her illness, she is happy in her own world. The staff at Anley Hall have been amazing, looking after my girl, she has been kept clean and tidy, well fed and protected during the pandemic. Any concerns that I may have had, have been dealt with by the management team very quickly and efficiently. Thank you all for your help.

Cannot speak too highly of the care and attention for my husband and myself. The staff went out of their way to be helpful, not only at the last but all through my husbands stay. They were always available to answer any queries. They seemed to have a real understanding of my husband and his needs. Their response always prompt.

As a result of serious and enduring mental ill-health, my sister has very erratic mood swings and behaviour. All of the staff at Anley Hall that I have contact with have demonstrated great compassion and a keenness to understand and meet as much as is possible her complex needs. I believe she is well cared for and very well supported. Some staff members have gone above and beyond to help. As a family member, I have appreciated their willingness to communicate and thereby support me also.

My father has been a resident of Anley Hall nursing home for just over 12 months. During that time he has been cared for with courtesy and dignity. His nursing care and medical needs are met effectively. The approach of staff, management and carers is personal, friendly and appropriate, we feel as though my stepfather has been supported well and maintained his individuality as far as that is possible. The response from the management team during the Covid-19 pandemic has been decisive, appropriate and clear. We would recommend Anley Hall.

A very competent nursing home in a countryside setting. Able, as in our case, to cope with residents whose dementia may manifest in challenging behaviour. There always seems to be plenty of staff on duty, and they always seem to be smiling and interact well with the residents. There are several lounges, albeit some are more 'homely' in their general decor than others. The rooms are clean and adequately furnished. Visitors are greeted warmly and given the opportunity to meet and talk with their loved ones. The car park is a good size, but could do with re-surfacing! For our needs it was by far the most suitable nursing home we came across.

My mother chose to move to Anley Hall when she was 91 and finding it harder at home. She had been diagnosed with Alzheimers.
The visit from the manager to Mum at home so that they could see what was important to her was very valuable. It led to her getting a room that fitted her lifestyle. As my mother's condition deteriorated her care was increased, she has well looked after.

She died peacefully and not alone at the age of 95.

My mum lived at Anley Hall for 18 months until her recent death. Throughout this time, she could not have been better cared for anywhere. The staff have always been kind and compassionate and they treated Mum with love, respect and dignity. They always managed to coax a smile from her, even during the last few weeks of her life. The management team have been excellent, always available to speak to and extremely supportive of me. My mum always enjoyed the activities, especially the music. She could be seen tapping her feet and hands even though she may not have remembered the words. I will always be grateful to everyone at Anley Hall and would highly recommend them to anyone.
