I can't praise this place and its staff highly enough, my mum sadly passed away here at the end of October 2024 and the amount of care that all the staff provided at this residence was absolutely exemplary.
They made both me and my daughter's experience much less painful than it could have been and
I can't thank them all enough.
Care homes get some bad press but I can't fault anything about Mansion House.
Heartfelt thanks once again.

Firstly the value-for-money rating is in no way a reflection on Mansion House, it is a nationwide issue that the government needs to address! Both my mother and I are happy with the care she receives at Mansion House, this has been the case throughout the past three years. The recent redecorating throughout
the home and upgrading of the furniture in Mum's room have not gone unnoticed and are very much appreciated. Mum's 100th birthday celebration went very well!

The care that our mother has received over the last three years has been second to none. The staff are so caring and anything we have requested or raised has been dealt with. All the staff work so hard under sometimes difficult situations. We feel blessed to have been able to place her in there to receive
the care she deserves.

My mum was given 28 days' notice from her previous care home when her dementia became challenging, luckily we found Mansion House. There is nothing they can't deal with as a team, Mansion House is person-centered, and their teamwork is outstanding. All the residents are treated with dignity and respect,
the home is immaculate and the laundry service is outstanding. Thank you Mansion House.

The care that my father-in-law received at this care home was beyond our expectations on every level.
We were made so incredibly welcome each time we arrived, often unannounced and nothing was ever too much trouble for them.
The team worked with my Dad with such compassion and genuine care for him
it was heartwarming to see.
The support and communication we received, through what was a very traumatic time made it just that little bit easier.
We are thankful from the bottom of our hearts to all of them, this home offers genuine care, no frills just a group of individuals who are all passionate about genuinely offering what we all need at the end of life.
Care and dignity.

Given the trying times of COVID, the staff and management have done an excellent job in keeping standards to the maximum. We have been fully informed of the situation and of any medical needs for the resident. Overall, the care given has been to a high standard and I would not hesitate in recommending
this care home.

My mum went into Mansion House in April 2021 into nursing care for the first time. From the start, Mum was very settled and seemed very happy with the staff and her room. I found the staff to be extremely caring and compassionate towards Mum and myself. The last couple of weeks before Mum passed away
were very difficult for me and the rest of the family, but the staff were fantastic. They supported us as well as taking excellent care of Mum. We cannot thank them enough for looking after Mum in such a loving and dignified way.

My nan recently moved to Mansion House a few days before Christmas. Since my nan moved into Mansion House she has come on leaps and bounds in a matter of weeks! Her presentation is fab and she's looking so much better in herself too. The manager of the care home is friendly, down to earth and very approachable!
Both the manager and deputy manager have been fab with me and my mum and have always kept us updated since my nan's arrival! Really strong management team and all the care staff we have spoken with have been polite, respectful and very down to earth too! You can see just how compassionate the team are in regards to the quality of care their residents receive. Myself and my mum are content in knowing that my nan is in a good care home and being very well looked after.

Our mum has been admitted since Mar 2019. She was admitted as an emergency in 24 hours, as the home where she was, was unable to meet her needs. The staff at Mansion House are excellent and experienced. Mum has deteriorated in the last few months due to her diagnosis of vascular dementia and mixed Alzheimer's.
The home is not the poshest we've seen but it is the most homely and cosy home we have been in. There are no bad odours in the home. The food is also excellent.

Current Review Score: 9.2 (9.203)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.2 (9.203) out of 10 for Mansion House is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.6 out of 5 from 6 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.6 out of 5 from 6 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.603 for Mansion House is calculated as follows: ( (47 Excellents x 5) + (16 Goods x 4) + (4 Satisfactorys x 3) + (1 Poors x 2) ) ÷ 68 Ratings = 4.603
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.6 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Mansion House is based on 6 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 = 3.6
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 29 registered maximum number of service users is 5.8, which has been reached with 6 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
