My friend, the widow of a recently deceased other friend of mine, has dementia, and has been a resident of Hartshead Manor since July 2024. Prior to her becoming a widow I visited her with her husband and by myself, and still visit her. I am impressed with the high level of care and consideration given to both her and the other residents I see when I am there.
My friend had difficulty comprehending the loss of her husband, but with the patience and understanding of the care home staff her sadness is now very much less.
I am grateful for the help I have been given in both how to talk to, and respect, my friend, and other residents, taking into account the differing levels of their sad affliction.
On my visits I have met hands-on carers, cleaners, medical staff, clerical staff, and catering staff - all, including head office staff, have shown a high level of the necessary professional knowledge and compassion needed for looking after the welfare of the residents in their care.
