My lovely husband was taken into Peacock Manor for end-of-life care with cancer.
It was absolutely the right decision we made.

The Home is lovely and very clean. The staff were simply amazing, so kind, and helpful to my husband and us. All his needs in the end were met, and we could not have had a better experience.

Extremely pleased with the care my grandpa receives at Peacock Manor. Every single member of staff is outstanding, extremely caring and all very friendly. Everyone is made to feel very welcome. I have 2 young children who often attend with me and the love the staff have towards my children is lovely. They are made to feel at home! My grandpa has been in a couple of care homes prior to Peacock Manor and we are extremely glad we made this move as the care is second to none! We walk out the home feeling very confident that he is being cared for - nothing is ever too much and I would highly recommend to others!

Facilities and rooms are a bit run down but this is compensated by the staff. The staff are excellent, they are polite, gentle and attentive. The staff numbers are high. Very happy with how the staff work as a team.

My mother has been a resident since February 2022, I have subsequently visited weekly at varying times of the week and I have never seen an action or procedure that would give me cause for concern. On the contrary, I regularly witness staff

interactions with residents during which they are patient, considerate, respectful and very professional despite often challenging behaviour being presented. I have the ultimate respect for the manner in which they carry out their duties, in fact, they often exhibit genuine concern for those in their care. I am very happy with my mum's care and very grateful to all the staff.

My uncle has lived at Peacock Manor for nearly 3 years, both he and I are proud and so very much content to call this his 'home'. It’s a joy to observe the positive relationships he has made with so many of the staff. Such kind words and so many smiles are afforded to him, it’s heartwarming!

My mum was placed in Peacock Manor by social services against our wishes - however the care that she received was excellent.
Her dementia was very challenging yet the care staff were so patient and understanding.
As a family, we were always made to feel welcomed and our visiting time was made easier by the friendliness of the care staff.

I will always be extremely grateful for the care my mum was given and the amazing staff at Peacock Manor.

Since my husband became a resident, I have visited 3-4 times a week, unannounced, at different times of the day and week. I have always found everything and everyone as I would wish to find it. All residents were treated with the care and respect due to them. No matter what occurs, staff behave in an exemplary manner. I am reassured that when I leave him, my husband will receive the very best of care.

My father was in Peacock Manor from October 2022 to November 2023, when he passed away.
He was well cared for by all the staff, and his eyes lit up, and there was a smile on his face when they spoke to him.

He loved the homemade food and the activities that the home provides.

We were worried about Dad going into a care home. But we couldn't ask any more from Peacock Manor. It is clean, the staff are the most caring of people and nothing is too much for them. Since Dad has come to Peacock Manor they have made us feel like part of the family. Dad is always clean and has someone with him at all times. They are great at communicating with us and we know exactly what is happening and how Dad is. The staff are your stars here, caring and have such empathy not just for the residents but their families as well. We couldn't ask for any more.

Our cousin came to the Peacock six months ago in very poor health. With lots of care and attention, she has made a remarkable recovery. She has just celebrated her 90th birthday with staff and friends, sharing a beautiful dietary requirement birthday cake made by a staff member.

It is a relief to know she is in such a caring, friendly environment.

This nursing home is very welcoming. I visit it every month to see my brother, the staff are attentive and spend time with him whenever they can. He is much better since being admitted to a care home. They provide healthy and nutritious food and they also provide coffee to us visitors. They keep them entertained by holding different events such as bingo and games. Overall this is a wonderful home where there is a sense of belonging, would definitely recommend.

Our Mother recently passed away after a year in care at Peacock Manor Nursing Home. We are very grateful to all the staff who looked after Mum during her time there. She was well cared for with sensitivity, respect and dignity. Visits were well-managed, providing a relaxed atmosphere to meet with Mum whilst always taking into account coronavirus restrictions. Mum was happy and comfortable at Peacock Manor. Thank you.

We like to thank the management and staff at Peacock Manor on behalf of our family for the care and dedication they gave to our aunt while she was with them following a serious illness. The care they gave was compassionate to both ourselves and our aunt and allowed her to pass away with the utmost dignity in comfortable surroundings after a long illness. We felt totally at ease and confident at all times that she was receiving the best care from all the staff that always went beyond mark while giving us support to deal with the obvious outcome for our mum. When she finally passed away we visited her to find they had arranged her with flowers in her hands, and the final goodbye was something nice to remember after the distress of the weeks before at last, she was at peace.

The staff can only be described as caring.

Special thanks to the caring staff, we will never forget their kindness.

Review from Janet O (Wife of Resident) published on 8 March 2022 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience

When my husband was admitted to Peacock Manor in January we had been in a crisis situation for a few weeks. The nursing home was the best possible place for him to be as he needed more care and attention than he could receive in a care home. From the moment we stepped through the door I could feel the friendly atmosphere, care and consideration for my husband with Alzheimer's, and myself. The communication with the staff was excellent, they always rang to tell me when the GP had seen my husband and we discussed his end of life care when that period approached. Although he deteriorated quickly due to dementia and increasing frailty, I was confident that he had the best care from staff who really did care about him and treated him with respect and kindness. He was only there for five weeks, but I would not hesitate to recommend Peacock Manor.

From the very beginning, we have been treated with help and concern. A very warm and friendly atmosphere. The concern for residents is very obvious and leaves me feeling my husband is looked after as well I could myself. I have complete confidence he is getting the best treatment. As my husband became a resident during lockdown, I cannot comment on the building as we are not allowed in yet.

Overall Experience

Our mum was in Peacock Manor for a number of years. During that time the Care Home team supported my mum and gave her the best of care, as she went through changing mental and physical behaviours mostly due to dementia and of course old age. In all that time, I was comforted to know that my mum had the best of care from all the team including the supervisory and management. The owners have invested time and money to improve the quality of the residents' surroundings which I was grateful for. My mum was at times a challenging resident in her early years there but this did not mean that the quality of care was affected. The level of patience and professionalism by the team has always been positive and supportive.

My father spent his last months here and throughout he was treated with dignity and respect by all the staff. On top of my father's condition, Covid-19 meant we couldn't visit yet your carers went our of their way to enable phone calls and correspondence so we could reach out to him. We were kept informed at all times of dad's condition and I know everything was done that could be done to help dad adjust to both his condition and his new home and this was very important to all his family.
