My lovely wife, a long way down the dementia pathway was admitted to Heatherfield some months ago..She was not eating or drinking and virtually unable to do much more than lie in her bed, or sit in her chair in her room - which was bright and cheerful. The care staff are great and seem to act as one and thanks to their perseverance she is eating and drinking. Now able to walk about, firstly with assistance but now on her own. Although the upstairs covers quite a large area, when I arrive to visit her, the carers can immediately tell me where she is and find me a space to sit with her. Nothing is too much trouble. Dementia is a foul disease robbing the person of their memories but here they make it as good as it can be for both her and for me. Thank you to the whole team..
