Bay View House

from Richard O (Son of Resident) published on 16 January 2026
Submitted via Website • Report
Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
My 91 year-old mother stayed at Bay View House for three week in November 2025 so that I could go on a rest-bite holiday. She experienced excellent care in a friendly supportive environment. Her ground floor room was sufficiently elevated for her to see St Mary's Island. The food was outstanding, I
had three meals there myself and all the staff had clearly developed a good relationship with my mother.
There was some cold weather with snow while my mother was staying there and she said her room was always warm and cosy. Staff helped my mother with her laptop and it was clear from our e-mail exchanges that she had settled in well despite having never before staying in care. For me it was reassuring that she was being so well looked after while I was away.
A constant theme of what she has said about her stay was that it was more like a Country Hotel than what she had expected a care home to be like. Her stay was not cheap but it does seem you get what you pay for.

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
A dear friend has resided here for several months for end of life care. The nursing and personal care has consistently been great . The home is always very clean and the staff very friendly and genuinely care for the residents The food quality is good and the menus are clearly displayed. Theres a range
of activities for residents and relatives can always be involved. The home is well managed and the manager is always approachable, friendly and supportive to visitors. Having experienced several care homes in the past I would put Covent House in the top tier . Well done to all the team.

Covent House

My Father in law recently moved to Covent House and we cannot thank the staff enough for the outstanding care my father in law has received. The manager and staff never fail to speak, smile and give daily updates on his health and daily routine. Covent House is kept very clean and tidy. The whole team
work really hard to look after and care for residents. They offer a wide variety of food and go above and beyond to try to cater for everyone. Well done Covent House and a massive thanks to you all.

I'm restricted to 1000 characters. Melton House deserves 20,000.
The team are all outstanding professionals and exemplary within the care sector.
Melton delivers dignity, compassion, and respect for residents and families.
I've been humbled by their unwavering devotion.
The manager is an inspirational
warm and loving person.
Residents' rooms are spacious, clean with TV, connectivity and 24/7 emergency telecare, throughout
Melton has several lounge spaces and games rooms and a wide range of activities, also a landscaped garden and enclosed rooftop garden adjacent to the racecourse, so residents enjoy a grandstand view of the track.
Melton is ergonomically designed utilising smarts from a university who are renowned experts in the field of social care and dementia. If you're looking for a care home you can trust with great facilities that feel like a real 'home from home' for someone you love, then you need look no further than Melton House.

Parklands Nursing Home

from Philip R (Brother of Resident) published on 21 June 2024

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
My brother has been in Parklands for many years.
The staff are absolutely brilliant and I can't thank them enough for how well they looked after my brother, especially during the period just before his death.
I would not have had a better environment for my brother and the facilities are second
to none! He was very well-liked in the home, he was a character and all the staff and residents loved him. Thank you Parklands for providing my brother with some comfort, instead of living on the streets, he was well looked after here and deep down, I know my brother loved the 'banter' with the staff, especially when talking about pigeons!
I would recommend Parklands to anyone. Thank you.
