My mum has lived at this care home for many years now we visit when we can living 2 hours away. I know my mum is in good hands the staff have always been very welcoming and approachable. When we visit my mum with our children they are very accommodating offering us drinks and a nice area to sit in.
I feel they are all very approachable. My mum speaks very highly of the staff and has always been looked after to a high standard. The care home is always very clean and decorated lovely my children especially like the art work in the hall ways and rooms and also outside. My mum will have many many more years living at Harmony house and I wouldn't want her to be anywhere else she gets 24hour care, company and most of all I know she's safe. Thankyou to everyone who takes care of her.

My father was a resident at Harmony House until he was removed following a safeguarding concern
While in the care of Harmony House, my father suffered a serious physical assault. Due to the severity of this incident and the associated safeguarding risks, we removed him immediately. The local authority
confirmed that the usual 28-day notice period did not need to be served, as it was deemed unsafe for him to remain.
Since his removal, communication from the management team has been extremely poor, and the situation has been handled unprofessionally.
When we attended the home to collect my father's belongings-during the period in which the room was still allocated to him-we discovered that another resident had already moved in. Our father's possessions, including sentimental photographs and his television, were still in the room and in use by another resident. This was deeply distressing and inappropriate. We have made a formal complaint, and the matter has been referred to CQC.
Reply from Senior Management at Harmony House Nursing HomeWe are deeply sorry to read about your experience and the distress caused to both your father and your family. The concerns you have raised are extremely serious, and we want to acknowledge the impact this situation has had.
The safety and wellbeing of all residents is our highest priority. Any allegation of physical assault is treated with the utmost seriousness and is subject to immediate safeguarding procedures, including referral to the local authority and relevant regulatory bodies such as the Care Quality Commission. We fully cooperate with all external investigations to ensure that concerns are thoroughly reviewed and appropriate action is taken.
We are very sorry to hear about your experience when collecting your father’s belongings. This is not the standard of care, dignity, or respect we expect to uphold, and we recognise how upsetting this must have been—particularly given the personal and sentimental value of the items involved. We are currently reviewing our internal processes regarding room transitions, property management, and communication with families to ensure this does not happen again.
We also regret that communication from the management team did not meet your expectations during such a critical time. Clear, compassionate, and timely communication is essential, and we are addressing this as part of our ongoing review.
As this matter has been formally raised and referred externally, we are unable to comment on specific details at this stage. However, please be assured that a full investigation is underway, and all findings will be used to strengthen our safeguarding practices and overall service delivery.
Once again, we sincerely apologise for the distress caused and thank you for bringing these matters to our attention

Absolutely disgusting place, the lack of care and safeguarding here is really concerning and the management needs seriously looking into. The manager takes no responsibility for how badly treated the paying service users are and is happy to brush serious incidents under the carpet without informing
families. Avoid at all costs!

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 5.7 (5.667) out of 10 for Harmony House Nursing Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 2.5 out of 5 from 3 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 3.2 out of 5 from 1 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 2.515 for Harmony House Nursing Home is calculated as follows: ( (12 Excellents x 5) + (1 Satisfactorys x 3) + (20 Very Poors x 1) ) ÷ 33 Ratings = 2.515
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 3.152 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Harmony House Nursing Home is based on 1 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 = 3
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 33 registered maximum number of service users is 6.6. 1 Positive Reviews ÷ 6.6 = 0.152
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
