Plas Y Bryn Nursing Home

Prior to her appointment as Deputy Manager, Julia (RGN) was a staff nurse at Plas Y Bryn for a number of years, having previously been a ward sister in Shropshire NHS.

Originally from Denbigh in North Wales, Paul brings with him a wealth of experience in mental health care, spanning nearly three decades. He qualified as a Registered Mental Health Nurse in 1996 and began his career in the NHS, working primarily in the North Wales Forensic Psychiatric Service.

Over 12 years, he took on a range of senior roles, including Ward Manager, Forensic Clinical Nurse Specialist, and Assistant Director of Nursing. In 2007, he transitioned into the independent sector, managing a number of mental health hospitals for the next 13 years.

In 2020, seeking a new challenge, he moved into a Regional Director role, supporting complex care homes across the North West. But earlier this year, he made a big decision: to return to a service-based role where he could spend more time directly supporting residents and staff. That’s when he joined Plas Y Bryn, and we couldn’t be happier to have him!
