Dad has been here over 3 months. The staff are exceptional They encourage him to do what he likes not what they think he should do . If he wants to stay in bed , then he can . When I call there they are so welcoming and looking out for all the residents ( and which takes exceptional skill and care ) . I have such a sense of relief knowing that dad is cared for so well and is safe Thank you ALL

My dad had a stroke in sept 2025 and sadly had to make the decision to move to residential which has been a shock for both of us .
we was apprehensive and very emotional about finding the right place, but sketty house, from the time I went to visit to dad moving in and being a part of the home has been amazing, had to make some difficult decisions but all the staff have been outstanding , very kind to both myself and dad , nothing is to much trouble.

it hasnt been an easy journey having a stroke but to have lovely and kind nurses , hcsw , catering and managers who help if we need anything & are always happy & smiling , being on the end of the phone if we want to ask questions has made the process much easier to deal with.. he has settled in well to a lovely home with activities and some thing going on there all the time so highly recommend sketty house as one the best homes in sketty

Since my Father was admitted to the home in June 2025 he has had a few falls, he has had a broken bottom what ever that maybe. He has a lot of his clothes go missing. He has not had a shower since he has been there, and they give him a wash in the morning with a flannel and they do not wait for the water to warm. He has had his main meal given to him for a couple of days on paper plates as the dish washer had broken down. Haven't they heard of manual washing. They have even lost his RNIB bleeper. They refuse to cut his nails and at one point my Father tried to dry shave himself in the lounge with members of staff walking past. All these point have been reported not only to admin but social services. MY FATHER IS 99 AND BLIND. WHEN HE HAS NOT GOT HIS HEARING AID IN HE IS ALSO DEAF. THERE IS NO DUTY OF CARE IN MY OPINION. There is room for big improvements.

I visit my sister 2/3 times a week. I have found all the staff, very good to my sister and I have found my sister's health has improved 100% since she has been in the care home. She also enjoys the food and seems to eat well, when I visit my sister does not complain about the staff, in fact she says they are very good.

This care home is a brilliant place for family/ friends, providing everything they need including a laundry room provided in the care home. All laundry is always put away tidy and clean and never any issues. As so for the kitchen, providing a selection of choices for breakfast and lunches. The staff here are great with communicating to all of the residents and their needs and not only do they care for them but they are compassionate.

The management team is also very helpful and supportive, making sure anything needed from you is done straight away. Overall this is a great care home where you know your family is happy whenever you can't be there feeling comforted.

Had an excellent visit. The staff are very kind and patient. The facilities are excellent and the rooms are warm and comfortable. The food is superb. All the staff know the needs of the residents individually and help them enormously. My mother is very happy at Sketty House and we can visit her at any time. There are no 'visiting hours' as such. The staff are careful to ensure that residents' clothes don't get mixed up in the laundry and there is a high degree of cleanliness at all times. Hairdressing and Chiropody are available. There are many excellent activities for residents. Overall-splendid!
