My dad had a stroke in sept 2025 and sadly had to make the decision to move to residential which has been a shock for both of us .
we was apprehensive and very emotional about finding the right place, but sketty house, from the time I went to visit to dad moving in and being a part of the home has
been amazing, had to make some difficult decisions but all the staff have been outstanding , very kind to both myself and dad , nothing is to much trouble.
it hasnt been an easy journey having a stroke but to have lovely and kind nurses , hcsw , catering and managers who help if we need anything & are always happy & smiling , being on the end of the phone if we want to ask questions has made the process much easier to deal with.. he has settled in well to a lovely home with activities and some thing going on there all the time so highly recommend sketty house as one the best homes in sketty

My review really covers the full period of time my mam was at Bankhouse. Mam was always well cared for, with dignity & respect. The care & nursing staff were always helpful, kept us informed of how mam's day had been & any changes in her health. They showed her love & made her feel safe. As a family,
they made us feel welcome & assured that mam was well cared for & happy. They supported us so much during mam's final days.
These staff members go over & above to care for the residents, they treat them as if they are their own loved ones.
I cannot comment on the food as mam was a non eater but what we saw looked & smelt delicious.
Reply from Mirela Matei, Deputy Manager at Bankhouse Nursing HomeThank you so much for your kind and heartfelt review. We're truly grateful to hear your mam was cared for with dignity, love, and respect during her time at Bankhouse.
It means a great deal that you felt welcomed and supported, especially in her final days. Your lovely words about our staff will be shared with the whole team.
Thank you again for trusting us with your mam's care.

Since my Father was admitted to the home in June 2025 he has had a few falls, he has had a broken bottom what ever that maybe. He has a lot of his clothes go missing. He has not had a shower since he has been there, and they give him a wash in the morning with a flannel and they do not wait for the
water to warm. He has had his main meal given to him for a couple of days on paper plates as the dish washer had broken down. Haven't they heard of manual washing. They have even lost his RNIB bleeper. They refuse to cut his nails and at one point my Father tried to dry shave himself in the lounge with members of staff walking past. All these point have been reported not only to admin but social services. MY FATHER IS 99 AND BLIND. WHEN HE HAS NOT GOT HIS HEARING AID IN HE IS ALSO DEAF. THERE IS NO DUTY OF CARE IN MY OPINION. There is room for big improvements.
Reply from Charlotte Evans, Manager at Sketty House Care HomeThank you for your feedback. We take all concerns seriously and wish to clarify that the issues raised had already been addressed prior to this review. Your fathers care plans and risk assessments are regularly reviewed to reflect his needs, including his sensory impairments. Any incidents or equipment issues were resolved promptly, and staff guidance reinforced to ensure safety and dignity. Regarding personal belongings, we have requested clothing be labelled to prevent loss. We remain committed to providing safe, person-centred care and encourage concerns to be raised directly with management.

All staff & managers are very good. They are helping all the time, food look nice, kitchen and bedroom clean. I visit my husband Wal every week on long unit.
To the manager of Bankhouse Care Home, I wish to express sincere thanks, to all the staff, at your Care Home, who show such love, compassion,
friendliness and are all so very caring. Whenever I visit my hubby, Wal, I am welcomed with a cheery smile and if I am "feeling down", they always show love and support, towards me.
It is better than any medication!!!
Respect, dignity and love, towards not only Wal, but all the residents, of Bankhouse Care Home, is so important and it reassures, the loved ones, that that is show at all times!!!
God richly Bless all residents and staff everyday.
With much love Olivia
