Glangarnant Care Home is a purpose built home which compromises of 39 rooms of which 3 are shared rooms. 23 rooms have ensuite facilities. The home is ground floor level and set within its own extensive grounds.

The home is situated just outside Ammanford with picturesque views over the countryside.

It is approximately two miles from the village of Garnant. It is close to local shops and a cinema and the larger town Ammanford is approximately 5 miles away.

The home offers person centred care in a warm, homely and friendly atmosphere. The team provide long-term and short-term care for both nursing and residential residents who are 65 years of age and over. They offer all residents excellent levels of care and support that is right for them. Care services are tailored around each individual to meet their specific needs and requirements.

The home has dedicated staff that provide the residents with the support, care and encouragement they need. The Home Manager is responsible for the direction of staff and the organisation of the caring and nursing service to ensure the highest quality of care is given to the residents.

Our Weekly fee is based on the choice of bedroom and the individual care needs required. Mahima and the team at Glangarnant are doing a wonderful job caring for my uncle who has dementia. Since he moved in 11 months ago we as a family feel such relief that he is in a safe environment where he is treated as an individual. When other care homes said they couldn't accommodate him because he
was "too mobile", Mahima came with a positive plan and he settled in even better than we could have hoped for. He has been eating foods he had stopped eating at home and is now always clean and tidy.
Glangarnant is a place that is full of life with regular entertainment and activities, a lovely garden, and a homely atmosphere. We have regular video calls with my uncle and Mahima or one of her team (we live too far away to visit frequently) and are kept updated with my uncle's care. The care home is clean and staff are readily available. We would happily recommend Glangarnant to others. Many thanks.

A very caring, well managed establishment with very personable and sympathetic staff. They are very responsive to the needs of patients, relatives and visitors.
Of particular note is the efficient, positive and speedy response to all information and requests over the telephone.

As a family we are very happy with the care given to mum at the Home; it's good knowing she's safe and is looked after well, especially as she is blind on top of the dementia, so is totally dependent upon the staff. Being blind mum is sensitive to noise so the staff take her to the lounge in the mornings
so she can mix with other residents, but they take her back to her bedroom in the afternoons if she asks because the noise can get too much her. The staff are without exception very caring of mum, and welcoming to us when we visit. It us so friendly there. Mum's bedroom is kept clean and she's always dressed nice. Various events are arranged which we try to attend because we enjoy experiencing the events with mum, and it helps us to meet other families who are in similar circumstances to us.

My mother had been In Glangarnant Nursing home last December and I'm more than happy with her care. The staff are wonderful and nothing is too much trouble I just have to ask.
The home is spotless and all the residents rooms are all kept to a very high standard.
Lots of the residents have different
needs with a wide complex range of illnesses and disabilities that the staff cope with extremely well with the utmost of care and respect.
I did view lots of homes before I decided on Glangarnant for my Mother. As you can appreciate no nursing home is like "being at home" but I have to say it's like "home from home" here. Mam is well looked after, taken out on coffee trips and lunches with other residents which she thoroughly enjoys. I have no complaints.

I have nothing but praise for the manager and staff of Glangarnant.
They made my aunt so very welcome and at home from the very beginning and the care they gave her was second to none.
My aunt was looked after with kindness and dignity until her passing.

Dad spent just over a year as a resident of Glangarnant prior to his sad death in January 2021. Dad looked so much better and healthier with the good care he received. All the staff were very caring and helpful not only to Dad but myself, despite all the very difficult circumstances of the pandemic

My Mum and Step-Dad were at 'Glangarnant' only 6 months and both passed away at the Home. They were taken great care of and during the Covid pandemic and were kept very safe. The staff were very kind and so caring. My Mum looked 10 years younger after moving to 'Galangarnant' Sadly, they both passed
away September and October 2020 but in the short time they were there, they became very close and happy with the tender loving care they both recieved from all the staff. The Manager is just a star. I highly recomend this wonderful home.

To all the staff at Glangarnant.
I’m sure 2020, and probably 2021, will be a year that will have taken its toll.
So far you have shown just how far you are prepared to take your responsibility and duty. Surely, with the sacrifices you have made, this is more than just duty, this is a deep-seated
compassion for those you care for.
The road ahead will still be a significant challenge, but at least some of this pandemic path has been trodden and some of the uncertainties are becoming more clear with the vaccine giving real hope of some normality resuming.
I want to say a big thank you to you all. You are as much in my thoughts as the thoughts I have for my Mam and what she is going through.

My mother has been a resident of Glangarnant for 15 years and I have seen many changes. The team have transformed the home and it is now the happiest, most caring, lovely place and I couldn't be happier with the care my mother is receiving. The home always looks freshly painted, scrubbed clean, the
windows are opened for fresh air and the staff are all friendly and chatty. It's everything you hope a residential care home would be. Thank you Glangarnant.

I have nothing but praise for Glangarnant. My mother spent her final five years there, firstly on the residential wing before progressing to the nursing wing.
Throughout that period the care she received was exemplary. The staff and management always acted with the utmost friendship,care and professionalism.
I
hope to find a similarly run establishment if and when I might need one!

My father has now been a resident at Glangarnant for nearly 3 years. He was very unwell on his arrival, however within months his condition drastically improved - he gained weight, looked healthier and was in good spirit despite suffering from dementia. The staff always treat the residents with dignity
and respect and are extremely diligent - as a family we are kept updated of my father's health and well-being and if there are any issues, they are always dealt with efficiently.


There is a homely atmosphere and the residents enjoy a lounge area where they can listen to music, watch tv and play games; once a week they have a singer in the larger lounge. However, I would suggest that in future they try to improve the condition of the external patio area as it would be nice to sit outside during the summer months when visiting. The place could do with a little modernisation/new furniture, but that's a minor point given the excellent care they provide.

The care home's sheets are very poor quality. The beds are not changed as often as they should be.
The floor behind the bed is not as clean as it should be either.
The trays are not cleaned off or is this the responsibility of relatives?
The hygiene is not up to scratch.

My 96-year-old mother entered this care home having been suddenly widowed. My father had been her carer since her stroke eight years before. She was made so welcome. I couldn't believe how easily she settled down amongst her new found friends.
The care has been brilliant, She is kept well, clean and
healthy.
The family are always made aware of any problems, healthcare issues etc and a year on I am more than happy that we found Glangarnant care home for her.

Mum has been a resident at the home for over 4 years now and seems happy every time I visit her.
The carers are very friendly to the residents and visitors.
The manager if ever I have had a problem or other, has always sorted the situation.
All in all, I can fully recommend the care home for future
residents.
