We were so pleased we managed to get Mum into this beautiful care home just before Christmas of 2022, after many consultations with many care homes, as Mum had complexed mental & medical needs.
It was difficult for Mum to settle at first but after a short while she was fine. She built lovely relationships
with the staff who were kind, gentle, respectful and caring.
I cannot really put into words what a humbling experience it was to have your parent looked after by others the way you would want to look after them yourselves.
In hindsight, we were so lucky that Mum got to spend the final years of her life in such a wonderful place.
Like us, if you are nervous about trying to home a beloved parent into care, I would recommend Neuadd Drymmau from the bottom of my heart, it truly is a special place.

The care given to my mum by this excellent home was first-class. Each staff member was friendly, compassionate and easily approachable; welcoming Mum and making her feel part of the unique 'family' environment very quickly. Mum was very happy there and made good friends with other residents and their
four-legged companions. She was encouraged to participate in the various activities in the home, including dressing up for Halloween and laughing with us at the resultant photos. All our family members enjoyed visiting, knowing that she was in safe hands in a lovely environment.

Ever since my Uncle went into the care home three years ago he has not been happier. I have noticed a big difference in him. All of the staff there are very friendly and helpful. They keep us up to date with any activities that upcoming and that relatives are more than welcome to join in . When I first
went to view the care home for my uncle before stepping inside I knew this was the right place for him straight away, and my instincts were correct. The home has been continuously upgraded. There are great views over to Swansea Bay. We as a family feel very lucky that my uncle is cared for and is very happy there.
All the staff are like an extended family to not only my uncle but to us as a family

Mum has been in the care home for 5 years now and couldn't be happier. Mum has perfect mental capacity but needs assistance for a number of physical needs including diminishing eyesight .
The home has a lovely piece of land attached with great views over Swansea Bay. Mum has her own dog and spends
many hours in the grounds. The home historically looked after after mainly dementia patients but that has evolved over the last 5 years . Aside from the staff who are just great, the home has been continuously upgraded. Family run and we feel so lucky mum is cared for and happy there

The staff are there for you whenever you need them and the manager always gives me the time I need. I love the outdoors and the gardens and grounds are outstanding. The food is excellent, with good variety and nutritious home cooking. I am grateful for my trips out it helps me to open up and communicate
and for the support I get in my area of interest.

The owners and staff at Neuadd Drymmau have been wonderful with my sister and I cannot thank them, or praise them, highly enough. Their care, thoughtfulness and consideration of her needs have made it so much easier for her to settle in and have given me peace of mind, knowing that she is safe, well
cared for and happy. The staff are professional, hardworking and caring and I know I can approach them with any concerns I might have. Activities are varied and enjoyable and family and friends are welcome to attend. My sister has also enjoyed trips out in the home's minibus. Thank you to everyone at Neuadd Drymmau for everything you are doing for my sister.

The care my mother is having is very good, the carers are good to her and look after her well. They all work very hard and look after my mother with kindness. I do feel that they should receive a lot of praise for what they do. Keep up the good work.

The home provides a first-class residential home for Mum.
The owners are considerate, knowledgeable and caring of my mother's changing needs and excellent at sharing relevant information e.g. when changes occur due to lack of extra funding from the local and central government.
Matron and qualified
nurses are most caring and professional and share their knowledge of the nursing needs of my mother, e.g. when Mum had a severe cough requiring antibiotics, they helped me through the decision whether Mum should be admitted to the hospital or cared for in the home. When I chose the latter, they arranged for a Specialist Nursing Team to visit my mum twice a day to help her through this difficult time, ensuring that Mum did not need hospital admission.
Care staff are kind, hard-working and knowledgeable of Mum's needs and considerate of my mum's dignity.
The catering team provides interesting meals that Mum loves.
Entertainment is popular and well-organised.
There is little staff turnover.
Rooms are clean and surroundings superb.

My sister was in another care home before Neuadd Drymmau but was not happy. From day one at Neuadd she got on well with staff, therefore quickly settled in, so much so it was really lovely to her personality shining through. Over the years it was pure peace of mind, a massive comfort knowing she had
wonderful care.

My mother needed care and to place her in the correct place was very important to me and my family. On visiting, meeting the manager put our worries at ease. The home has beautiful surroundings, the sitting room has plenty of areas to sit, not in rows as if you're on a bus or train, a very pleasant
dining room and food was homemade. The staff, nothing was too much trouble for them, a hairdresser calls, trips out, entertaining singers, it really is a special place that my mother enjoyed and had care and company. My thanks to all who were kind caring and considerate to my mam.

My dear friend was at this home - she was cared for with the best care I have ever witnessed. We all thought that she would never leave but this team's hard work, kindness and compassion got her on her feet in no time. Today she is going home with her little doggy (who was also cared for very well)
to her very own home and she is very excited. She is so grateful for all the help and care at this amazing place. These people are real-life Angels. If you have a loved one who needs the best care there is, then you will not find better, I'm certain if that. This may not be a five-star hotel, no! It’s better! Thank you to the whole family and team. Drymmau, you are the very best.

I am very happy with the care my mother receives at Neuadd Drummau. She has been here over 18 months. Her dementia was already advanced when she moved in and as her condition has worsened she has moved from residential to nursing care. I feel the operative word has always been 'care'. The staff really
do care and want the best for the residents.

Staff are always welcoming and friendly when I visit.

I don't think my mum could be in a better home.

My mother in law and neighbour are both residents at Neuadd Drymmau. Visiting is a pleasure, always a warm welcome from ALL of the staff and an offer of a cup of tea or coffee, every member of staff work extremely hard and treat each resident with care and respect, the rooms are kept clean and tidy,
there is a lovely atmosphere here and the home always warm and comfortable.
Residents have a choice of meals which look very appetising hot drinks and Soft drinks etc are always available.
There are various activities going on at Drymmau e.g visits to the theatre to see a pantomime, trips to Tenby, gnoll park etc, also in-house entertainment.
I would have no hesitation recommending Neuadd Drymmau to anyone who is looking for residential or nursing care.

I always enjoy visiting my grandmother at Neuadd Drummau, it feels like visiting someone in their own home. Staff are so friendly and welcoming from the cleaner to the care support workers to the handyman. From the moment you arrive, every member of staff you see during your visit will offer you a cup
of tea and a biscuit!
All staff try their very best for the residents and all have an amazing amount of patience.

Current Review Score: 9.6 (9.628)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.6 (9.628) out of 10 for Drymmau Hall Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 7 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.7 out of 5 from 7 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

    The Average Rating of 4.928 for Drymmau Hall Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (77 Excellents x 5) + (6 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 83 Ratings = 4.928

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 4.7 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Drymmau Hall Care Home is based on 7 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    • i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 + 0.1 = 3.7

    • ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 35 registered maximum number of service users is 7, which has been reached with 7 Positive reviews. Points = 1

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
