Review from Shirley S (Sister of Resident) published on 20 May 2026 Submitted via Postal Card
Overall Experience

My 80-year-old sister has later-stage Alzheimer's. She lost her husband (her main carer) in a horrible car accident. She was injured badly, too. After a period in hospital, she was moved to a local cottage hospital. It took a long time to move her to a secure care home with full-time nursing care. Her need to "escape" caused difficulties, and guardianship was required by both POA's (I am joint POA with another sister). The welcome and overall care, dining and activities provided here are outstanding, a relief!

It was my mothers 80th birthday + the activities coordinator in the home + all staff were just amazing in how they organised everything, from balloons to other beautiful decorations, caterers + the space to welcome all our family and friends for this important celebration. It made the event so special, every detail was taken care of + it all went seamlessly + smoothly. All the guests commented on the food, the lovely space + how special it was.

Review from C S (Son of Resident) published on 19 September 2025 Submitted via Postal Card
Overall Experience

Overall, exceptionally happy and satisfied with initial move in of Dad and the support provided by Suzi and nurses. Would be nice to have a notice board showing all staff/photo/position, etc. Together with who's on duty. This would help residents and visitors to build stronger relationships and get to know the team. All in all, great place with a great team.

Review from Margaret S (Wife of Resident) published on 15 August 2025 Submitted via Postal Card
Overall Experience

My husband has only been resident for 10 days so this is not a long-term considered view. 1st impressions. Staff very understanding, requests etc dealt with reasonably promptly. As a relative, I felt welcome and questions were answered. Nursing care excellent and a welcoming, almost happy atmosphere. One concern I have is that residents with a degree of intellectual capacity could be given more stimulation.

Overall Experience

Peebles Nursing Home, the excellent manager and all of the fantastic staff there, have looked after my mother for several years. She suffers from Huntington's so has needed some quite specialised care which the team have made every effort to provide. They are always helpful and welcoming and I would highly recommend them.

Review from I A (Wife of Resident) published on 4 November 2022 Submitted via Postal Card
Overall Experience

The care home has been very kind and patient with my husband while looking after him before a care package allows him to come home. The food has been good and he has enjoyed it all. They have been chatty when he needs it. The only niggle is that he is often in his wheelchair all day and although I have requested that he is transferred to a comfortable chair for some of the day this does not always happy, otherwise all excellent.
