Review from Louise W (Daughter of Resident) published on 9 January 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience
My mother spent the last 2 years of her life at Riverside, immobile following a fracture and she had alzheimers. She spent a long period of time in hospital waiting for a place where she declined.
Mum settled in very well and was happy. Her room was immaculate, she was always well dressed, with her lipstick on - she loved clothes and looking smart and she was supported in that. The team were very kind to her and she got on well with them in fact she was more her old self with them than with her family.

Celebrations were arranged for so many occasions Halloween, Easter, and she was taken out on visits. She enjoyed her meals and formed good relationships with her carers. We were also supported as it was hard to watch her decline and her death on 12th December. It was touching how many of her carers came to say goodbye to mum.

Thank you so very much for such kind words. It was a pleasure and a privilege to be able to be a part of your lifes for a short period of time. She will always be a part of our Riverside family.

Overall Experience
Both my grandparents spent their final months here. I found that the care they received was thoroughly appropriate to their situation. The staff were always courteous and respectful. And whenever my grandparents had visitors everyone remarked on how content they appeared there.
The staff have a tough job but I personally think they are trying to make every resident's time there as enjoyable as it can be. My grandmother used to write in her letters to me about the quality of the food she was eating.

Appreciate the care and service they provided.

Review from Agnes W (Wife of Resident) published on 1 June 2021 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience

Over the two years my husband was resident, I was dissatisfied on many occasions with his level of care. In 2019 and again in 2020, I found I had no other option than to complain to the Care Inspectorate. After an investigation by them, complaints were justified and upheld.

Reply from Arthur McLean, Director at Riverside Healthcare Centre

The reviewer was always unhappy their partner needed the support of a care home. We worked hard to meet their expectations. We admired their relentless drive to achieve the best outcome for their partner and hold us to account. We agree we were not perfect, and we apologise for not always finding...
