Very happy overall, regards care - mum appears settled and happy, especially when there is music on. The staff are very caring and professional. Food is also good, we are often offered tea, coffee etc if we are there when the trolley comes round.
Reply from Kirstene Feenan, Marketing at Meadowlark Care Centre

Thank you for your kind words. We're so pleased to hear your mum is happy and settled, especially enjoying the music. It's lovely to know you feel supported by our caring team - and we're always happy to offer a cuppa when you visit!

Meadowlark is a lovely place, very friendly and relaxed enough to have fun ! My husband would not be the easiest to care for but he is always very well looked after , he has a wicked sense of humour and loves to have fun and banter with everyone he is very happy and is always treaded with respect and
kindness. It is so reassuring to know that he is being kept so clean as is the whole building always improvements going on in and outside. It is so important to us as a family that he is so well cared for in such a lovely place. Perhaps we don't get the chance to say thank you to the behind the scenes staff enough they provide such a vital service in what they do , so thank you ! we as a family are always made so welcome it is just home from home so important.

My husband is very well cared for and is shown kindness and respect. Food of a high standard and served attractively. All staff are friendly and helpful. The home is kept clean and fresh at all times. Always decorated beautifully for special occasions such as birthdays, Christmas, anniversaries, burns
day, Mother and Father's day, St Andrew’s day etc. Very satisfied with the care my husband receives.

Staff are friendly and attentive, it is so reassuring to know Mum is being well cared for as we all live so far away and can only visit periodically.
When phoning for an update on how well Mum is settling in, nursing staff are happy to ring back and answer all queries linked to her physical and mental
health and well-being. When we visit, all staff make us welcome and are happy to try and help with our requests to create a homely space for Mum. Given how difficult it is trying to find and retain staff in this sector, we feel lucky that Mum's care needs are being met and by such lovely staff.

My dad isn't the easiest of residents (!), but the staff at Meadowlark have never treated him with anything but kindness and consideration. There is a lovely, happy atmosphere in the home, and I have every confidence that he is being well looked after, with real attention paid to his individual preferences
and medical needs. If there is a problem, we are notified immediately. First-class care!

My brother always talks about how good the food is. Also, the caring is exceptional. The staff are always there if you need a chat about your relation. All staff are a pleasure to deal with. Although my brother chooses not to take part in any activities, staff are always on hand if he needs anything.

Meadowlark provides excellent care to my Mother and she is well looked after by the staff in all respects. Her accommodation is comfortable, the food and drink are good, and the staff are attentive and treat her with dignity. The home is also very good at keeping me up to date on my Mother's situation
promptly.

Meadowlark staff are the most caring people I have had the pleasure to meet, they cared for my mum whilst she was in care for 2 years or so right up until Mum passed away on the 29/04/2022. I cannot find a single fault nor seen any that would cause concern, in my own opinion Meadowlark care home is
one of, if not the best there is. Carry on the great work guys so proud of you all.

I have nothing but praise and thanks for the wonderful care my mother-in-law received over the last 18 months she resided there. The staff went over and above the call of duty to make sure she was well cared for and looked after. Nothing was too much trouble. We could not fault their care or support.

My mum was in their care for only 2 days but they were her last 2 days. The staff are amazing and they made my mum exceptionally welcome and supported and cared for at a very difficult end of life time. The staff also ensured that my family and I were supported up to and after my mum's death last week
7th December 2019. They liaised with the funeral directors and nothing was too much trouble for them.
It's never easy choosing somewhere for a loved one when they need specialist care, however, I would thoroughly recommend Meadowlark Care Centre in Moray as the staff there are exceptional and provide personal and professional care that is second to none.

My mother has been a resident at Meadowlark for 3 years now. The atmosphere is calm and welcoming and the staff are friendly and helpful. My mother needs particular help as she is blind and I feel that her particular needs are not always met as a lot of the staff can't themselves imagine the problems
she has, e.g. a rug over the back of her chair, a drink not provided or out of reach, not being able to catch the attention of staff and her feeling of isolation. Aside from this, it is a well-run home with caring staff who really do want to help and care for residents.

Today, 14th December my Mum passed away after staying in Meadowlark for the last 2 months. Whilst upset at the loss of my Mum my fellow brothers and sisters are very happy that she was so well looked after in the last 2 months of her life by the very caring and sympathetic staff at Meadowlark. All of
us have been very impressed by the level of care and compassion our Mum has received. I don't want to name individuals because everyone has been great but the senior nursing staff deserve special praise.

Current Review Score: 9.3 (9.324)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.3 (9.324) out of 10 for Meadowlark Care Centre is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 8 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.5 out of 5 from 8 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.822 for Meadowlark Care Centre is calculated as follows: ( (74 Excellents x 5) + (16 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 90 Ratings = 4.822
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.502 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Meadowlark Care Centre is based on 8 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 = 3.8
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 57 registered maximum number of service users is 11.4. 8 Positive Reviews ÷ 11.4 = 0.702
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
