  • Care Homes Owned by Renaissance Care
At Renaissance Care, their aim is to ensure that when you come to live in one of their homes you continue to enjoy a good quality of life within a safe and relaxed environment.

All of their care homes are located in Scotland and offer care tailored to the needs of the individual. Each home is different, with most offering nursing care including specialist units for dementia care.

They see their staff as their key resource and recruit locally and look to train, support and develop all staff in order that they can deliver the same vision of what good care should be.

You can find their care homes in Aberdeen, Edinburgh, Forres, Peterhead and Blairgowrie.

Their package of care includes your own bedroom (unless you wish to share), prepared meals, laundry and housekeeping and the use of all the home's public areas including secure gardens. They encourage volunteer groups into the homes to meet with or entertain residents.

Croftbank House

from Elizabeth D (Daughter of Resident) published on 2 December 2025

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
Dad came to live at Croftbank House in May. His first contact with the care home was when in hospital. The team that came to see him made him feel valued and respected. From this gentle, sensitive visit we knew we wanted dad to live at Croftbank.
Six months on, dad has settled in to his new home.
He is given person centred support directly looking at his needs. We have been kept fully updated and involved in dads care.
The care staff are so attentive, they work as a team, are hugely approachable and always happy to help. We value the amazing role they play in dads life.
Dad is involved in thoughtful activities. There is 100% energy and excitement put in to organising and delivering events.
Croftbank is so welcoming and continually takes pride in the maintenance and comfort of the home.
Dad had lost his sparkle but now feels safe and with the excellent care and homely, happy environment we as a family are being given an opportunity to see dad shine again.

Croftbank House

from M M (Son-in-law of Resident) published on 27 November 2025
Submitted via Website • Report
Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
My father-in-law has been in Croftbank for a matter of weeks. As anticipated there have been some basic issues which the family felt the need to highlight, as is the case with every care home. However, every concern or basic issue has been addressed to our satisfaction. As time goes by we have identified
some wonderful staff and we have been made to feel comfortable making suggestions to further enhance my father-in-law's stay. We recently had an issue which could only be resolved by close liaison between Croftbank and the Medical Centre and it was concluded to our satisfaction (and gratitude) over a very short period of time. While families should quite rightly highlight issues which concern them it is also essential that we voice our appreciation to the staff who demonstrate empathy and care in a professional manner. In my experience to date I have highlighted far more positives than negatives. We feel confident we have chosen the correct home for a much loved man.

Benvie Care Home

Overall Experience 2.0 out of 5
Visiting an elderly relative found resident was left with food down her clothes. Staff were not easy to find. Taking into consideration they were probably busy. Although on one occasion found 2 members of staff in the dining room on there phones..
Don't think this is acceptable professional working
practices.
On the passing of this relative I did not receive a phone call or any communication of their passing away till 5 days later of receiving a phone call from social worker.
The domestic who helped me with her belongings was appreciated and the laundry assistant who attended her funeral was greatly appreciated.
I found any communication between myself and the care manager was not greatly received and was what I would class as being obstructive.

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
Mum has just been at Glencairn for a 10-day respite break. She has mobility issues and chronic spinal pain; sadly, she's also starting to have some cognitive problems. We were all impressed by the beautiful rooms and she settled in very quickly, helped by the cheerful, kind and considerate staff. We
were warmly welcomed ourselves and the carers and management are always ready to answer any questions that might crop up. Mum very much appreciated their support and enjoyed their company, and also commented on the good food. She was so comfortable there that we've chosen Glencairn for her long-term care, to start in a couple of weeks.

Wyndwell Nursing Home

Wyndwell has a lovely cosy feeling about it, warm and welcoming. From the Manager, the nurses, the carers, the admin, the caterers and housekeepers, each one is kind, extremely helpful and approachable. The care and attention given to the residents is first class as is the catering they receive. Wyndwell
have a varied activities programme with something going on each day. The staff go above and beyond in coming up with new activities for the residents to try. I can see real enjoyment from everyone.
Anyone who is considering making the difficult decision of moving their loved one into a care home should strongly think about Wyndwell as they won't regret it. It's a professionally run home, but with the touch of warmth that makes you feel you're visiting your relative in their own home. They're very accommodating.

Croftbank House

Horrific experience for my mother and our family in the final months of my amazing mother's life. Management team abysmal. Palliative care sub standard. Communication awful from the start. Only due to myself being an experienced nurse and having close friend who are working in palliative care did she
manage some peace in her final hours. Before this last period I discovered her flat on her back, soaking in urine and fluids from her legs, oxygen unattached and my poor mother in deep distress and discomfort. No answer to call bell so I got her semi comfortable before seeking out of staff. On speaking to clinical manager she denied the state I found her in trying to gaslight me to believe she had been fine and hour before which would have been 40 mins given the time I was with her. My mother went in this place for respite initially and unfortunately due to lack of nursing homes in the area we were stuck. From the start emails with our concerns went unanswered.

Very happy overall, regards care - mum appears settled and happy, especially when there is music on. The staff are very caring and professional. Food is also good, we are often offered tea, coffee etc if we are there when the trolley comes round.

Cannot thank Care Home Manager enough for the help she gave with my husband's emergency admission. She is exceptional in her role and support of resident's & family. Her warm, cheerful, friendly, enthusiastic manner sets the tone for a very positive, welcoming atmosphere throughout. Extremely impressed
by the entire staff as a unit. Highest praise for the care staff who helped my husband settle in quickly, treating him with dignity, respect, patience and personal interest. Cleanliness very good, testament to hard work. attention and efficiency of staff. The peaceful haven of the garden is a bonus, a very pleasant surprise to find it free of traffice noise in a built up area.

Excellent care home. Staff, facilities, food, entertainment and care are exemplary. My Mum has only been in Wyndwell since January this year. Relatives are included, encouraged and welcomed to join in activities and events. We've spent many occasions (with more to come) enjoying being with my Mum and
joining in. The staff are superb with all the residents, who are treated with the utmost respect and dignity. Cannot fault anything.
