Care Homes Owned by Renaissance Care
At Renaissance Care, their aim is to ensure that when you come to live in one of their homes you continue to enjoy a good quality of life within a safe and relaxed environment.
All of their care homes are located in Scotland and offer care tailored to the needs of the individual. Each home is different, with most offering nursing care including specialist units for dementia care.
They see their staff as their key resource and recruit locally and look to train, support and develop all staff in order that they can deliver the same vision of what good care should be.
You can find their care homes in Aberdeen, Edinburgh, Forres, Peterhead and Blairgowrie.
Their package of care includes your own bedroom (unless you wish to share), prepared meals, laundry and housekeeping and the use of all the home's public areas including secure gardens. They encourage volunteer groups into the homes to meet with or entertain residents.

It took 2yrs to finally get my Mum into a Care Home and Riverside Care Home just ticks all the boxes for us.
We were given a list of 10x Care Homes in Aberdeen area and looked at all the reviews, reports etc and visited 4 and Riverside was by far the best.
Just the energy in this care home with the
wonderful staff and great leadership all of whom you can see enjoy and are proud of taking care of the Patients.
In just 2 days my mum settled into the home with the warm welcome she received. The care home has so much to offer with actvities etc and well supported.
It's great to see my mum smiling again and know that she is in very good hands. Thanks to all at Riverside Care Home :-)

I believe that Persley Castle perform miracles, taking into account that like most businesses, they have limited funds and staff to work with. The care shown to residents is first class, and the fact that there is not a high turn over of staff indicate that it is a good & happy place to work.
Residents are given opportunities to do a wide variety of activities so there is something for everybody.
The first day my mum arrived, we were told we were now part of the family, and have been treated as such ever since. And we really do feel like we have a vastly extended family of great aunts and uncles in the form of the residents who love to chat, and also in the staff, who not only look after mum's welfare, they look after ours too.
It may not be perfect, no where will be. However, it is an amazing home to a very large family of really special people and I feel blessed to be part of that family.
Reply from Kirstene Feenan, Renaissance Care at Persley Castle Nursing HomeThank you so much for your lovely review and for taking the time to share your experience. It truly means a lot to us. We're incredibly proud of our team and the care, kindness and dedication they show every day to make residents and their loved ones feel welcome, comfortable and at home. Mum moved to Rosepark Care Home( Rosehill Unit ) in mid December due to a decline in her Alzheimer's Dementia and was instantly welcomed warmly by all staff. Her room is bigger than expected and has an ensuite wet room. The home is spotlessly clean and the meals are all cooked freshly. The staff in
the unit are amazing with Mum and are able to settle her when she gets upset. The activities done with the residents are frequent and so suitable for the clientele. We couldn't have asked for a better place for Mum to be

Persley Castle has an amazing staff.
They are friendly and go above and beyond.
The day room has lots of activities to keep the residents happy and entertained.
The dining room is clean and tidy and the staff are hardworking and will deliver food and tea to the room.
The bedroom and en suite is
kept clean and tidy with polite staff knocking and asking to come in everytime.
Although, it's been a hard transition the staff have been patient and very caring.
We cannot fault the home and know there is an open door policy and we would feel very comfortable to share our concerns if we ever needed to.
We all feel comfortable coming in and out at all times of the day.
Thank you for your friendly approach and professionalism at a difficult time.
Reply from Kirstene Feenan, Renaissance Care at Persley Castle Nursing HomeThank you for your kind words - we understand how difficult the transition can be and will always do everything we can to make it as smooth and reassuring as possible. You're always welcome in the home at any time, and we encourage loved ones to spend as much time with us as they wish. Very best wishes.

As a daughter of a resident my mum has been in Benvie for over 2 years I have been in many times visiting her and find it hard to find carers residents sit in the lounge unattended the food is a disgrace for what they are paying for ie cauliflower cheese for dinner sandwiches and a packet of crisps
this isn't nutritious meals this is cheap food some residents are sitting with food down there clothes there is no interaction from staff no entertainment and a second hand mini bus that doesn't work Sits 6 people and the same people going on trips when the staff can be bothered taking them out.
Reply from Kirstene Feenan, Renaissance Care at Benvie Care HomeThank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We are disappointed to read about your experience - this does not reflect the high standards we set for ourselves or that were recently recognised in our latest care inspection report.
Benvie is led by an experienced manager, we will ensure your concerns are shared with her directly. She will carefully review the matters you have raised and work with you and the team to identify and implement any improvements needed to ensure a positive experience for all our residents. Mum had a fall while suffering from a flu. I was kept fully informed and she was seen by medical staff and treated appropriately. Her fall in the night was noted by staff and a motion sensor installed to alert staff to further attempts by mum to get up unaided.
I was impressed by the professional nature
of her care, and the level of communication, keeping me advised at each stage.

My husband spent 10 months in the Cowdray. He received wonderful care and attention from all the staff from the day he moved in.
The food, and the ambiance of the Cowdray make you feel like you are in a 5 star hotel.
Myself and my family were always made to feel welcome by the staff when we visited
during the day or in the evenings. Mike (the Manager) and Rachel (Deputy), were always approachable and helpful. When I mentioned to Mike that my husband used to enjoy feeding the birds in our garden,Mike arranged for a bird feeder to be placed outside my husband's bedroom window. They always went above and beyond.
The Nurses,Team Leaders, care staff, all staff who work in the Cowdray,we cannot thank them enough for the care and compassion shown to my husband during his time particularly in the lead up to the last days of his life.

Hi, thank you for sharing the minutes for the latest meeting. It is most welcome. I have had a couple of occasions when meeting Dad to take him out for a meal when there were no lights on in his room. I startled him awake. It would be useful, before dusk, if residents' bedside lights were switched on,
even if they are snoozing, so that the transition to wakefulness is not so abrupt. Many thanks Mike
Reply from Jozi Stables, Manager at Glencairn Care HomeThank you very much for taking the time to share this feedback. We're grateful for your kind words about the meeting minutes and for raising this important point regarding your dad's comfort. We're sorry to hear about the occasions when the lights were not on and understand how being startled awake could be upsetting. Your suggestion is very helpful, and we agree that a gentle transition to wakefulness is important. We will be reminding staff to ensure they consider bedside lighting before dusk, to support comfort and wellbeing of residents who require. Thank you again for bringing this to our attention and for your continued engagement, feedback like this really helps us improve the care we provide. Kind Regards, Jozi

We have been very pleased with how dad has settled since moving in about 6 months ago. The staff are all so nice and really good with dad who is very particular about how he likes things. Dad is very happy with the food and has thankfully put on a little weight after not eating well before he moved
in and he gets all the cups of tea he wants. He's been on various outings and there are lots of activities available at the home which dad can join or leave as he likes. Dad's room and the living area are always nice and clean and he is very comfortable there. Overall, the care has been excellent while still allowing dad to do as much as he can.

My mum was a resident in this care home for a little more than two years before she passed away , The care and attention she received by all staff , carers and management was seconded to none . My mum always commented on how the carers helped her & always said , oh she's so good she's always smiling
& she's very nice , my mum was very happy where she lived & made lots of friends , residents and staff alike , my mums room was lovely , warm , bright & plenty of space , with a lovely big shower room , she was very happy.
There was plenty to do , bingo , cards which my mum just loved a game of cards , entertainment with various acts and lots of other things going on . The meals in this care home was brilliant I must say , plenty of variety , wholesome and very well presented , my mum enjoyed everything , all residents were asked & chose what they wanted to eat . The care home was very inviting and my mum loved being there , well done to all who works here , A big Thankyou to all .

My mother lived in Croftbank House from March 2024 until November 25th 2025 when she sadly passed away. She was made welcome on arrival and within a couple of weeks changed from the nervous anxious woman she had become in her sheltered flat to her cheery, relaxed self again. The staff formed warm, caring
relationships with my mother and she came to describe them to me as her friends. Mother was a picky eater at times and the staff always found alternatives that suited her when she rejected a meal that was initially offered. I was treated equally well and staff all knew my name and welcomed me on every visit with an update on mum's progress. The home is run with the attitude that never forgets it is the residents' home and personal touches are welcomed. I am very grateful to the staff for making the final months and days of my mother's life happy and peaceful.
Reply from Kirstene Feenan, Renaissance Care at Croftbank HouseThank you for taking the time to share your kind words about Croftbank House. It means a great deal to know that your mother felt happy, cared for, and truly at home here. Our sincere condolences remain with you and your family. Very best wishes, Renaissance Care
