The staff are very kind and always have time to chat to the residents. They are good at sharing information if your loved one hasn't been feeling well or behaving differently. The entertainment offered is lovely and everyone is encouraged to join in. The standard of food offered is high and plenty of
choice. I am very happy with Malin Court .

My mother has been in Malin Court since 2021. She seems to be content and has adapted to her surroundings well. Over time, sadly, her memory has been deteriorating but this is taken into account by the staff and her care.
Her room is comfortable, clean and the food is of a good standard. There are
plenty of activities each week for those who wish to and can participate but unfortunately mum is of an age where this is no longer the case.
I have always found the staff to be pleasant and helpful and I am confident in their care for Mum. I get called with updates on mum and her care, if she is unwell or if she needs anything brought in when I next visit.

When I found out in October last year that my gran had moved into Malin Court, I was very very scared, because of negative things I've heard in the media about care homes. However, when I saw Gran with my own eyes those thoughts disappeared! She's always happy in the home, and she's extremely happy
whenever I visit, as I'm unable to due to being disabled myself and having to rely on drivers and carers due to having tonic-clonic epilepsy.
Happy Gran, happy Grandson!
A big thank you to all the staff of Malin Court.

My friend is happy and enjoys the way he has been treated, and on my weekly visits, he never has any complaints, and that is our main objective for him!
As for myself, I have always found his apartment and general areas always very clean and tidy, and the staff have a warm and friendly attitude towards
us both. They keep me well informed if there are any problems, which makes the establishment perfect for our needs!

Very happy with my mother's care since she moved in in October 2022. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The accommodation is very comfortable. I have seen an improvement in my mother's overall condition since she entered the care home.

The carers are very professional, kind and helpful as are all the staff. The rooms are lovely and cleaned regularly. The activities are well planned in order to suit a wide range of abilities.
The food menu looks good and there is a friendly atmosphere.
Only one room for improvement, during the covid
out break it was very difficult to communicate through the windows that only open a few inches. A summer house or some such structure would help.

My step-mother has lived at Malin Court Care Home for several years and the care, attention and support of the staff has been exemplary. They have always been very good at keeping me informed of her situation and always seem happy to talk even when they must be exceptionally busy. I am delighted that
she chose to move to this particular home which I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a long-term retirement plan.

A great care home. The staff were all lovely. The lady on reception did a great job. My mother had a lovely room with a nice view. The food was good, and while she didn't take part in the daily activities, the team did a great job of having different activities each day. The staff were professional,
polite and courteous.

My 86-year-old mum stayed at Malin Court for respite care for a week. From our initial booking until the end of her stay, nothing was too much for the staff. Wonderful, spacious rooms, friendly and supportive staff and a beautiful location made Mum's stay a pleasure and she can't wait to go back. Yes,
it was expensive, however, I had a break too, knowing she was in safe hands. I would thoroughly recommend Malin Court.

Current Review Score: 8.3 (8.319)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 8.3 (8.319) out of 10 for Malin Court is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.6 out of 5 from 3 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 3.7 out of 5 from 3 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.600 for Malin Court is calculated as follows: ( (21 Excellents x 5) + (14 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 35 Ratings = 4.6
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 3.719 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Malin Court is based on 3 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 = 3.25
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 32 registered maximum number of service users is 6.4. 3 Positive Reviews ÷ 6.4 = 0.469
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
