Torry Nursing Home

Mum has dementia and all the the staff go above and beyond to make her time there as enjoyable as they can. From the management team knowing them on what feels like a personal level, to the nurses, carers, cleaners and everyone else associated with the home getting to know them well. There's always something going on (7 days a week), morning afternoon and evening, as well as trips out to various places like Boogie in the bar, or a day out in the bus, usully stopping off at a café, or a singer a couple of times a month. Communication between the home and family is first class with everything documented, so whoever you ask has access to relevant information. The food is good with a selection for every meal, and a light food menu for if the resident doesn't fancy a full meal. We had a choice of homes for mum, but we feel 100% Torry care home was the right choice.

The care staff are very caring polite and attentive and make you feel at home ever time we come to visit my mother we have no complaints regarding the care home aye feel my mother is well looked after and her needs are well met

My brother is well cared for and benefits from the kind interest that the carers give him. He doesn't like to participate in many of the activities but he has liked the outings he has been on. The carers make sure he has his hair cut and his clothes are tidy .

I am mostly happy with the care that my granda receives apart from the many falls he seems to be having but I am happy that they contact me each time, make sure he is okay and contact a doctor if need be.

Maybe more Scottish fare on the menu.

Looked after and nursing staff are excellent with her

Our experience so far has been very good - my Dad moved into TCH 6 months ago. He has been well cared for and we have been kept informed of his well-being throughout. The staff we have met so far have been friendly, approachable and helpful. Dad's room and the wider facilities are always clean and fresh when we visit. We have been particularly impressed by the co-ordination of weekly activities and really appreciate the updates shared via Social Media - it keeps us up to date with what is going on while also giving us peace of mind.

We have been very pleased with how dad has settled since moving in about 6 months ago. The staff are all so nice and really good with dad who is very particular about how he likes things. Dad is very happy with the food and has thankfully put on a little weight after not eating well before he moved in and he gets all the cups of tea he wants. He's been on various outings and there are lots of activities available at the home which dad can join or leave as he likes. Dad's room and the living area are always nice and clean and he is very comfortable there. Overall, the care has been excellent while still allowing dad to do as much as he can.

My recent experience with Torry Care Home is nothing but positive. The manager and staff are friendly, caring and approachable and always made me feel welcome when I came to visit. I live overseas but they keep me updated on how mum is doing on a regular basis. Knowing that mum is in safe hands and well cared for by such an amazing team is a huge relief for me living on the other side of the world.

I have no complaints about the home just some of my mum bedding and clothes go missing never to be seen its annoying as it cost money to replace. All staff are nice and friendly nice clean environment

The Torry Care Home go above and beyond for the residents, I noticed how very clean my sister's room and all over the home is, so nice to get such a wide range of food for all needs, staff when we go into vist always offer us tea and coffee, and the activities they get are just brilliant.

No issues. My mum settled in really well and seems happy. The staff are very helpful and friendly including the handyman team, I've asked them to do quite a few jobs in my mums room and been really happy with them. The staff are all very approachable and willing to help if I go to them with any questions regarding my mums care.

Excellent care, staff go beyond for residents. Plenty of activities and outings. Aunt not happy with food, has been given choice of other foods but says she is not asked. Have told her to ask if she's not happy with what is not to her liking on those days. As a family we are very happy with the care provided

I am more than happy with my dad's care apart from the clothing issue it clearly states in his room that his washing goes home but still over half of my dad's clothes are missing, I spent more money last month on more clothes for him and they have gone walk about too which is very disappointing and frustrating.

The family are totally comfortable and continue to be happy with Mum's care. The staff are attentive to both her and our needs and create a happy atmosphere and environment. Entertainment and activities are of a high quality and standard and the interaction with the residents is to be commended.

No issues otherwise.

I have no concerns regarding my father staying within this care home. He himself does not display any behaviours that would make me think he felt unsafe or unhappy therefore the high rating. Meals can sometimes be a bit fancy for Dad but that is only my opinion and may be alright for others. Staff have taken this onboard and adapt his menus to something of his liking. Activities are abundant with something on every day organised by the activity coordinators who do a brilliant job and aim to involve everyone. Families are kept updated on events and encouraged to participate when they can. Staff and manager are all approachable and willing to listen to any queries or concerns through social media, telephone, email or in person. Regular family meetings held where all are invited, this gives staff the opportunity to advise of developments, activities, upcoming events etc. Regular care reviews carried out on a platform of your choice. Overall I have no negative comments to make.

My overall experience with Torry Care Home is beyond amazing. The care home managers have made the care home a pleasant place and I can now phone the home and speak to either of them and ask how my grandpa is doing. They are doing an amazing job.

In general, we are always happy with the standard of care for my mother. Safe environment and well catered for. Good to see lift now working. Nice to see entertainment and parties for residents. Keep up the good work, thank you!

I can’t see my aunt as often as I would like as I live at the other end of the country, but she seems to be happy, mentally alert and well looked after when I do manage to visit her. The staff always seem cheerful and attentive to the residents.
