It took 2yrs to finally get my Mum into a Care Home and Riverside Care Home just ticks all the boxes for us.
We were given a list of 10x Care Homes in Aberdeen area and looked at all the reviews, reports etc and visited 4 and Riverside was by far the best.
Just the energy in this care home with the
wonderful staff and great leadership all of whom you can see enjoy and are proud of taking care of the Patients.
In just 2 days my mum settled into the home with the warm welcome she received. The care home has so much to offer with actvities etc and well supported.
It's great to see my mum smiling again and know that she is in very good hands. Thanks to all at Riverside Care Home :-)

Persley Castle Nursing Home

from A S (Daughter of Resident) published on 9 March 2026
Submitted via Website • Report
Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
I believe that Persley Castle perform miracles, taking into account that like most businesses, they have limited funds and staff to work with. The care shown to residents is first class, and the fact that there is not a high turn over of staff indicate that it is a good & happy place to work.
Residents are given opportunities to do a wide variety of activities so there is something for everybody.

The first day my mum arrived, we were told we were now part of the family, and have been treated as such ever since. And we really do feel like we have a vastly extended family of great aunts and uncles in the form of the residents who love to chat, and also in the staff, who not only look after mum's welfare, they look after ours too.

It may not be perfect, no where will be. However, it is an amazing home to a very large family of really special people and I feel blessed to be part of that family.

Reply from Kirstene Feenan, Renaissance Care at Persley Castle Nursing HomeThank you so much for your lovely review and for taking the time to share your experience. It truly means a lot to us. We're incredibly proud of our team and the care, kindness and dedication they show every day to make residents and their loved ones feel welcome, comfortable and at home. Your kind words will mean a great deal to them.

Overall Experience 4.0 out of 5
Persley Castle has an amazing staff.
They are friendly and go above and beyond.
The day room has lots of activities to keep the residents happy and entertained.
The dining room is clean and tidy and the staff are hardworking and will deliver food and tea to the room.
The bedroom and en suite is
kept clean and tidy with polite staff knocking and asking to come in everytime.
Although, it's been a hard transition the staff have been patient and very caring.
We cannot fault the home and know there is an open door policy and we would feel very comfortable to share our concerns if we ever needed to.
We all feel comfortable coming in and out at all times of the day.
Thank you for your friendly approach and professionalism at a difficult time.
Reply from Kirstene Feenan, Renaissance Care at Persley Castle Nursing HomeThank you for your kind words - we understand how difficult the transition can be and will always do everything we can to make it as smooth and reassuring as possible. You're always welcome in the home at any time, and we encourage loved ones to spend as much time with us as they wish. Very best wishes.

The Cowdray Club

from Joan K (Wife of Resident) published on 13 February 2026

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
My husband spent 10 months in the Cowdray. He received wonderful care and attention from all the staff from the day he moved in.
The food, and the ambiance of the Cowdray make you feel like you are in a 5 star hotel.
Myself and my family were always made to feel welcome by the staff when we visited
during the day or in the evenings. Mike (the Manager) and Rachel (Deputy), were always approachable and helpful. When I mentioned to Mike that my husband used to enjoy feeding the birds in our garden,Mike arranged for a bird feeder to be placed outside my husband's bedroom window. They always went above and beyond.
The Nurses,Team Leaders, care staff, all staff who work in the Cowdray,we cannot thank them enough for the care and compassion shown to my husband during his time particularly in the lead up to the last days of his life.
Reply from Kirstene Feenan, Renaissance Care at The Cowdray ClubThank you for taking the time to share such thoughtful feedback. It was a privilege to care for your husband, and we are pleased to know that you and your family felt supported and welcomed throughout his time at The Cowdray. Your kind words mean a great deal to our entire team, and he will be remembered with warmth and respect. Best wishes, Cowdray

Torry Nursing Home

We have been very pleased with how dad has settled since moving in about 6 months ago. The staff are all so nice and really good with dad who is very particular about how he likes things. Dad is very happy with the food and has thankfully put on a little weight after not eating well before he moved
in and he gets all the cups of tea he wants. He's been on various outings and there are lots of activities available at the home which dad can join or leave as he likes. Dad's room and the living area are always nice and clean and he is very comfortable there. Overall, the care has been excellent while still allowing dad to do as much as he can.

My recent experience with Torry Care Home is nothing but positive. The manager and staff are friendly, caring and approachable and always made me feel welcome when I came to visit. I live overseas but they keep me updated on how mum is doing on a regular basis. Knowing that mum is in safe hands and
well cared for by such an amazing team is a huge relief for me living on the other side of the world.

My mum was a resident in this care home for a little more than two years before she passed away , The care and attention she received by all staff , carers and management was seconded to none . My mum always commented on how the carers helped her & always said , oh she's so good she's always smiling
& she's very nice , my mum was very happy where she lived & made lots of friends , residents and staff alike , my mums room was lovely , warm , bright & plenty of space , with a lovely big shower room , she was very happy.
There was plenty to do , bingo , cards which my mum just loved a game of cards , entertainment with various acts and lots of other things going on . The meals in this care home was brilliant I must say , plenty of variety , wholesome and very well presented , my mum enjoyed everything , all residents were asked & chose what they wanted to eat . The care home was very inviting and my mum loved being there , well done to all who works here , A big Thankyou to all .

My mum was in the care of Cranford Care Centre in Aberdeen. The staff, their unfailing attentiveness we were so grateful for. Down from the management, past down to domestic assistants. Mum had stroke, unfortunately her speech was comprimised. Staff always made her smile. We were ever so pleased we
chose Cranford to end mums days there. End of life care was superb. Thank you to all.

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
Wyndwell has a lovely cosy feeling about it, warm and welcoming. From the Manager, the nurses, the carers, the admin, the caterers and housekeepers, each one is kind, extremely helpful and approachable. The care and attention given to the residents is first class as is the catering they receive. Wyndwell
have a varied activities programme with something going on each day. The staff go above and beyond in coming up with new activities for the residents to try. I can see real enjoyment from everyone.
Anyone who is considering making the difficult decision of moving their loved one into a care home should strongly think about Wyndwell as they won't regret it. It's a professionally run home, but with the touch of warmth that makes you feel you're visiting your relative in their own home. They're very accommodating.

Excellent care home. Staff, facilities, food, entertainment and care are exemplary. My Mum has only been in Wyndwell since January this year. Relatives are included, encouraged and welcomed to join in activities and events. We've spent many occasions (with more to come) enjoying being with my Mum and
joining in. The staff are superb with all the residents, who are treated with the utmost respect and dignity. Cannot fault anything.

Medical staff are very professional and attentive in their bedside manner.
Can only relate to daytime staff who on the whole very proficient, courteous and very friendly with all patients and visitors.
The meals are now more bespoke to the residents after that great idea to hold a review with residents
& families as to their older plate requirements.
Early days, but the Renaissance are certainly on the correct footing!
