It was like a home from home for dad, all the staff were amazing, so caring and patient and treated him with dignity and respect. He was safe and secure, which was a weight of my mind, and he loved it, especially the meals, as he had a great appetite! The atmosphere was always friendly, like you were part of a big family. As a family we thank each and everyone of you for taking care of dad. If you are looking for a nursing home I would go and check it out, you won't be disappointed.

Plenty opportunities to express orthoughts , ideas and opinions at regular residents families meetings. The meetings were also an opportunity to pass on any information regarding upgrading decor and any upcoming activities in the nursing home. Dignity and confidentiality were always at the forefront of the care

My dad spent a year in here before he passed away last month. I can't sing the staff's praises enough. I believe there were major changes a couple of years ago and I can't fault anything now! The staff were outstanding. Very professional and extremely caring. Nothing was too much bother for them....

The staff were outstanding. Very professional and extremely caring. Nothing was too much bother for them. The atmosphere was always upbeat and happy. There was a lovely vibe to the place as soon as you went through the doors. From receptionists to nursing and care staff, to laundry staff and cleaners, everyone was just so caring and friendly. My dad needed a lot of care but never wanted for anything. If he couldn't get out of bed any day, the staff would sit and read to him. If anyone is considering a care home for a relative, please go and see Woodlands, you won't be disappointed. Thank you all, from the bottom of our hearts.

Cathy Paterson has been the Manager of Woodland Nursing Home for over 13 years. Prior to this, she served as Deputy Manager at Woodland and spent eight years as a Charge Nurse at the company's sister home, Peacock Nursing Home.
Throughout her nursing career, Cathy has gained extensive experience across a wide range of healthcare settings, including care for young people with chronic illnesses, palliative care with the Sue Ryder Foundation, research nursing, dementia care, first-in-human clinical trials with leading pharmaceutical companies, and community and primary care services. This breadth of experience has provided her with a strong clinical foundation and a deep understanding of person-centred care.
Cathy is passionate about delivering high-quality care that places residents' dignity, independence, wellbeing, and individual choices at the heart of everything she does. She is committed to creating a positive and supportive environment where residents, families, and staff feel valued, respected, and listened to.
Leading by example, Cathy promotes professionalism, compassion, and teamwork throughout the home.
