At Woodlands Nursing Home in Livingston, residents are cared for in a warm, supportive environment where comfort, dignity, and kindness are at the heart of everyday life.

From the moment someone arrives, time is taken to understand their individual needs, preferences, and routines. This thoughtful approach helps each resident feel settled, respected, and truly at home, while supporting independence wherever possible.

Accommodation at Woodlands is designed to provide both privacy and flexibility. Residents enjoy single-occupancy bedrooms, offering a personal space to relax and feel comfortable. In addition, four spacious rooms are available for those who prefer companionship - ideal for couples or close companions who wish to remain together.

Residents benefit from 24-hour nursing care, with registered nurses on duty at all times. This ensures that professional support is always close at hand, providing reassurance for both residents and their families. Nursing staff are supported by a dedicated team of senior care assistants and care assistants who work closely together to deliver attentive, compassionate care. Support is always tailored to individual needs, whether that involves daily assistance or more complex nursing care.

Families often take comfort in knowing that care is delivered by a consistent and committed team. Strong relationships are built over time, helping residents feel understood, supported, and at ease in their surroundings.

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
My dad spent a year in here before he passed away last month. I can't sing the staff's praises enough. I believe there were major changes a couple of years ago and I can't fault anything now! The staff were outstanding. Very professional and extremely caring. Nothing was too much bother for them. The
atmosphere was always upbeat and happy. There was a lovely vibe to the place as soon as you went through the doors. From receptionists to nursing and care staff, to laundry staff and cleaners, everyone was just so caring and friendly. My dad needed a lot of care but never wanted for anything. If he couldn't get out of bed any day, the staff would sit and read to him. If anyone is considering a care home for a relative, please go and see Woodlands, you won't be disappointed. Thank you all, from the bottom of our hearts.

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 8.1 (8.061) out of 10 for Woodlands Nursing Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 5.0 out of 5 from 1 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 3.1 out of 5 from 1 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 5.000 for Woodlands Nursing Home is calculated as follows: ( (11 Excellents x 5) ) ÷ 11 Ratings = 5
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 3.061 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Woodlands Nursing Home is based on 1 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 = 3
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 82 registered maximum number of service users is 16.4. 1 Positive Reviews ÷ 16.4 = 0.061
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
