Struan Lodge

The staff at Struan Lodge are very professional and friendly they respond to any requests I make, they are friendly and approachable.. Mums room is lovely and very clean. The whole building is decorated and furnished to a high standard. The laundry service is very well run. The meals look appetising and there are snacks and cups of tea/coffee/juice a plenty for the residents. My Mum is kept very clean and the in house hairdresser is fabulous and interacts well with the residents. Mums hair is lovely and tended to once a week The staff get podiatry and other medical needs seen to quickly. There are coffee mornings and other activities provided on a regular basis coordinated by the in house entertainment person. The staff levels and various roles are well balanced and the management seem to be caring for both residents and staff. Many staff tell me its a great place to work and one of the best care homes they have encountered.

My father has now been in the struan lodge for 3 years 8 months. I am happy with his care and I would like to thank Angie and all the staff for the support, care and attention they provide for my father.

I have visited mum several times recently & always been met with smiling friendly staff, Kim, Shelly & Fatima chatted to me, my son & his girlfriend with my mum & were easy to communicate with. My mum agrees there is a warm atmosphere with staff getting on well with each other too. Mum is respected as an individual & family welcomed just like their own home.

Our mother has been resident for only a short period. There have been issues related to her dementia but we are impressed by the manner in which they have been handled. Staffing levels are good. We feel that she us now in a safe environment.

Whenever I visit Struan Lodge I find all the staff friendly and welcoming. I am happy that my sister is being well looked after in a caring environment. All the staff understand her needs and treat her with dignity.

I was very impressed during my recent visits to see how friendly & caring the staff all are at Struan Lodge. Everyone was so kind and helpful when visiting to see my partner on several occasions. I was asked if I would like to have lunches or coffee and I saw how well the residents were looked after. We had a birthday party in the garden and the kitchen staff provided a beautiful cake.

Each time I visit Struan Lodge to see my lovely old neighbour, I am very much welcomed by the support staff and carers alike. The staff all seem to know the residents very well and being in a smaller, cozy and comfortable care home is exactly what my lovely friend needs. The care staff and nurses are very nurturing and considerate and I believe my friend is extremely well looked after.

I visit regularly and find the staff very welcoming and courteous. My brother is well looked after and consideration is given to his diet. He enjoys all his meals. He has always loved music and I was able to take a small music centre in for him so that he is able to listen to his CD's. I am very happy with his care.

Recovering from a hip replacement my husband required extra safety equipment in his room and constant supervision, both were provided. Staff interacted with residents well and also try to ensure they meet the care required. The staff are friendly and try to ensure you have a pleasant visit.

I have been visiting a friend for 6 months, just over and have always been impressed with the treatment she has been receiving. The staff go over and above to make residents comfortable and encourage them to take part in a variety of activities. The home is always spotlessly clean throughout from the rooms to the communal areas. The food always looks and smells fresh and seems to be enjoyed by the residents. A good selection is always on offer. Having a hairdresser on site is just another personal touch which I think is important for self-worth. As a regular visitor, the care I witness can only be described as excellent.

We are welcome to visit at any time and stay for meals, which shows they are happy for you to be there at any time.

It's peace of mind to our family that our uncle is happy, content, and well looked after.

My mother's care in this nursing home is excellent. My mother has dementia; she can answer appropriately and knows her family. She does not like to be touched, which makes nursing care difficult, but the staff manage, and she is always fresh and well cared for. She spends most of her days in bed; she has to be hoisted, which she does not like, but has been done recently and hopefully will be again soon. The staff are considerate, kind and respectful. Their communication skills are also excellent.

The staff keep me informed of any health updates relating to her. They go out of their way to maintain a happy home.

My mother developed dementia in her mid-eighties and has now been a resident for over four years. Our GP recommended Struan Lodge when we were looking for a place where Mum would receive the care she needed, and I am so pleased she got a place there. She was made to feel welcome from the first day, quickly settled in after a short period of confusion, and is now very content. The home is relatively small, which makes it feel more intimate and friendly. It also means that you get to know most of the staff, and though there is some turnover, I can say that without exception, they have all been really great with Mum. They also keep me fully informed of her condition at all times, and we have regular reviews about her care plan. I have peace of mind knowing that Mum is in good hands.

I cannot stress enough the kindness and competence of all the staff at Struan Lodge. Every time I phone or visit my gran, every member of staff knows who she is and is up to date with her care needs. They are so kind to my gran at all times and are often in touch to keep us up-to-date and involved in her care. Before my gran was in a care home, she was with us full-time, so it was a big adjustment and a very emotional time for us. My gran has settled in so, so well, mostly due to the kindness she experiences. She may have dementia, but she knows that she is being well looked after and often says how lucky she is. It gives us great peace of mind. The food is great, the hairdresser always makes her look great, and the activities are fab. Cannot praise the Struan Lodge staff enough.

We feel lucky to have mum in here; they are an extension of our family.

My admiration for all staff is at the top level, most of the carers have been there since my relative moved into Struan.

The location of the home, next to the cycle path and golf course, mean we can take her out for a walk, which is also a bonus.
