Marchmont House Care Home in Port Glasgow

I couldn't be happier with the care my mum receives at Marchmont the staff really make the place a home for my mum. There is so many amazing staff here that go above and beyond for my mum and I really appreciate them.

My aunt has been a resident at Marchmont for a number of years and I have found her care to be exemplary. The management team and staff are fantastic, showing care, professionalism and huge dedication to the people in their care. My aunt has a great relationship with the team and often tells me how happy she is and how loved she feels, I couldn't ask for more.

Overall experience was very pleasing. All needs in relation to wellbeing, care and support were catered for on a one to one basis. All needs were met consistently. The staff continued to go above and beyond not only for residents but family members. Overall, we were more like family. Extremely happy overall.

I find Marchmont House an ideal care home for my husband. It is difficult to put a loved one in a care home. I find the staff very pleasant and easy to get on with. My husband has complex needs, although he is a great patient, he is a heavy man to support.The meal times are always on time, and there are plenty of snacks for patients in between. Overall, it is a good care home. I am sure I made the right choice.

My mum is currently a resident and has been since August 2023. She is always clean & tidy and has her make up on . She has put on weight since her arrival. And loves the activities and company. The staff are always positive and easy to approach, nothing is too much hassle for them . For me it just feels like going into my mums " Home " excellent all round

All areas that are communal for residents and visitors are warm and welcoming, clean and seem like a happy place to be. Our friend is able to walk on her own so she can come and go in the lounge as she wants but she knows that there is always someone there to check on her and look after her. A wee home from home.

The home has good facilities and excellent staff. My wife was well cared for, and when we telephoned, the staff kept us fully informed as to how the stay was progressing. I would have no hesitation in my wife returning to Marchmont House, or in recommending the home to others requiring care.

Always a pleasant visiting experience as the staff are very welcoming and friendly. Highly rate this care home, its staff and the excellent work they do.

Our brother has now been in Marchmont for a year, and we continue to be amazed by the level of care he receives. The manager and her staff know him well and meet his needs with a very high standard. They are attuned to his health complaints and know when he isn't too good. He continues to 'love' being in Marchmont and readily tells everyone how 'brilliant' it is. As a family, we couldn't be happier. All the staff are friendly, approachable and always professional. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to any family needing care, love and support for their loved one.

The home is very well run and the staff are always helpful. There is good communication and I am well informed of everything. It is a clean, homely environment where I feel my sister is very well looked after.

She has everything she needs, the staff are very friendly and welcoming when I visit and my mum is happy. Would highly recommend it.

Would just like to say a big thanks to the staff for the care they gave our mum and also for keeping us updated when the home was closed due to the virus. During this, my mum got sent to hospital, and they phoned straight away to tell us and also when she was back in and settled let us know how she was, so thanks again much appreciated; you definitely go above and beyond.

My husband has been in Marchmont for almost three months. From day one when he was welcomed at the door on arrival from hospital, the staff have shown care and respect for him. They look after the residents extremely well and activities are enjoyed too. The food is excellent. I would have no hesitation in recommending Marchmont to anyone considering a care home.

My mum was admitted to Marchmont on a temporary basis. From the outset, staff were very supportive, caring and helpful. My mum is now here permanently and she loves it here which has put us at ease knowing that she is well cared for.

When we visit, Mum and Dad are always dressed and clean and tidy. The home is immaculately clean. Thanks staff for all your help and guidance.

I was welcomed in every way, the staff and management were very, very helpful and they helped me in more ways than I can imagine. I was needing a confidence booster and your management helped a lot. Your whole staff could not have done any better at making me feel welcomed. I would recommend this care home to anyone. The food was outstanding and a cup of coffee was on call any time night or day. So all I can say is thank you to all.

Since my uncle arrived here the care has been outstanding. I can not fault anything. My uncle has started drawing again and playing his guitar, he had not done this for a long time so that is a credit to the staff that he is comfortable and happy in his surroundings. The manager and the staff have also made the family welcome too.

My brother was only 63 years old when he suffered a stroke, after initial treatment and partial recovery he was designated as a very vulnerable adult with limited capacity. He was referred for care, and after a meeting was offered a place at Marchmont House. This review covers our first impressions and his first 10 days in residence. Our early experience was one of calm competency and very caring staff. The home itself is very clean and well-appointed, our worries about my brother's reaction were completely removed by his first hours in residence, he was very pleased with his room and how friendly the staff were in welcoming and putting him at rest. After his first week, he was very well-settled/happy in this environment. He was so pleased about the warmth and pleasant environment, his meals are very good and his facilities 1st class. We are very encouraged and relieved about how well he has settled.

My mother stayed in Marchmont House Care Home on discharge from hospital until a care package was arranged. Care is excellent and Mum was very happy. If one requires to go into care again the family will be happy to choose Marchmont again. Lovely staff.
