Highly recommend. Staff marvellous particularly the activities staff. Big shout out for Alice. You are a star. Food is excellent and cleaning scrupulous. Only wee issue is the wall paper. My mother does not like it. However everything and everyone else there is splendid.

Both of our parents are in Millbrae (Mum was admitted first and has complex dementia). Seeing how happy and contented she was, meant that it was an easy decision for the family to place dad there when the time came.
My mum is known for calling a spade a spade, and as her dementia progresses, she has less and less of a filter. So the fact that she raves about the staff and food every time we visit, shows what a good job all the staff are doing the kitchen staff, to the maintenance staff, through to the carers and the nurses.
Millbrae wasn't our first choice of home, but due to Mum being an emergency admission, we were offered Millbrae. I'm so thankful and grateful that we were.
All of the needs of both my parents are met, and my sister and I couldn't be happier.

This is a home staffed by local people who understand the needs, moods, foibles and backgrounds of its residents, ie. hard working men and women from a working class background.

At first when Mum went into Millbrae in June 2023. We felt the place was good, activities were very very good although Mum said they did nothing, but the pictures were there to prove her enjoyment. As the weeks passed we started seeing things that weren't quite right. The staff didn't seem so attentive and the laundry was terrible, nothing seemed to be ironed. Although my wife suspected they were put into the dryer too long. My mother didn't want her clothes going to the laundry and rather reluctantly I agreed to family taking it home for washing. This fee is included in her bill! Over the past 4-6 weeks things have changed tremendously since new staff have been appointed we still take Mum's washing home.

My mum has been a resident since April 2021.
Throughout our experience, we have found the staff extremely friendly and helpful whilst providing a high standard of patient care for my mum.

My mum has settled in very well and we can see this in her reaction when the staff interact with her. Overall we are extremely satisfied with the care my mum is receiving.

My dad is well looked after, he didn't want to be here at first but he has now settled in and finds the staff very friendly and helpful. He has good banter with all staff and is settling in due to the effort all the staff have made.

I'm extremely happy with the care that my mum is receiving. All the staff are very focused and have a very good relationship with my mum. Staff are very approachable and keep the family up-to-date with her care. Ultimately my mum is content and her face lights up when the staff talk to her.

My mum had been in hospital since December 2020, during this time our father died and slowly out Mum was giving up. We then had to make a decision about a care home for Mum, which felt overwhelming and we were fraught with guilt. As a health professional I completed in depth research both electronically and over the phone and made the best choice ever. We chose Millbrae Care Home.
Mum, has been a resident of Millbrae now for a few months and while it has been a slow process she improves daily. The staff are wonderful, attentive and treat Mum like family. The manager is always available and communicates with me regularly. Mum loves the food and has a great appetite again. She is joining in the recreational games and activities more and more. She enjoys time in the garden, sing alongs and the bingo. She looks forward to when more visitors are allowed and she can see her nieces, nephews and friends.

I would highly recommend Millbrae Care Home. Thank you to all the staff.

My mum is being very well looked after and gets on well with everyone, she has a nice comfortable room where she likes to go for a wee afternoon nap in her comfy bed.

My Aunt has been a resident in Millbrae Care Home since April 2019. Over the past 18 months, the staff have kept me informed of how my Aunt is keeping - I have weekly catchups the team. Also Adhoc contact from the Care Home if additional Medications are required eg Antibiotics, Flu Jab, etc. The staff are caring, compassionate and very professional and deliver an extremely high level of care. In addition to this, the staff keep the residents' spirits high by going that extra mile to celebrate birthdays, special occasions, holidays and decorate the Home accordingly. Most of all the staff treat the residents with respect. We can't thank the team enough for everything they do (especially in the current circumstances), keep up the fantastic work.

The care home staff are professional and extremely welcoming. We have always had open channels of communication with them and especially so since March. The staff stimulate their residents and treat them with respect as well as good humour. Our loved one had a special birthday in August and they went over and above for her to make sure she was feeling loved and special. We are very happy with the management, staff and care.

Due to Covid-19 we have been unable to visit inside the nursing home for over six months. Prior to this, we have had no complaints regarding the care of my mother, with accommodation, food, staff and general care being excellent and management being easily accessible and good. Hence as far as we are aware, my mother has been well looked after, without us seeing inside her room for the past six months during Covid-19 lockdown.

This care home has looked after my mum for several years, years she would not have had if been still living at home. She has been treated well with care and compassion, even when her mood could be challenging. I can't thank the staff enough for all the work they have also done to keep the home clean of covid19. Thanks, is not even enough.

The standards at Millbrae have definitely improved over the last few months. Not only have the communal areas been made more homely and inviting, but nursing and caring staff are working hard with residents and families to improve the home. One area which still requires improvement is the stimulation and entertainment for residents, but a new activities person has been appointed so I hope we will see a difference over the next few months.

I am more than happy with the high standard of care my mum receives. All her needs are dealt with on a day to day basis. I have built up a good relationship with the management and staff over this time. They look after her in a very personal and dignified manner for which I am grateful. She has been a resident for over two years now and she is happy in herself. That speaks volumes.

My mum has been a resident since April this year. I have always found the staff approachable and helpful. They are very patient and caring towards the residents. If I have asked for anything to be done or changed it has happened without issue. Millbrae is always a clean and safe environment. I would have no hesitation recommending Millbrae to anyone looking for a care home.

I came to Millbrae in October 2025. I am a registered adult nurse, and I am an experienced Care Home Manager. I have worked in social care since 2016, from being a staff nurse, clinical lead nurse, deputy manager and then home manager.

I believe that all residents in our care should receive the highest standard of care, and although it is not their own home, it should be as homely and as close to their own home as possible. Our residents' lives should be enjoyed as much as possible in whatever way they choose.

Outside of work, I have 3 grown-up children, 2 young step-children, and 3 grandchildren, with a 4th due at the end of the year. I love travelling and visiting new places
