I came to Millbrae in October 2025. I am a registered adult nurse, and I am an experienced Care Home Manager. I have worked in social care since 2016, from being a staff nurse, clinical lead nurse, deputy manager and then home manager.
I believe that all residents in our care should receive the highest standard of care, and although it is not their own home, it should be as homely and as close to their own home as possible. Our residents' lives should be enjoyed as much as possible in whatever way they choose.
Outside of work, I have 3 grown-up children, 2 young step-children, and 3 grandchildren, with a 4th due at the end of the year. I love travelling and visiting new places
I have been a registered general nurse for 16 years. I have worked in my role at Millbrae since November 2025, but I had previously worked in Millbrae for many years as an agency nurse.
I am a busy mum to 4 children and a stepson. I also have 3 chihuahuas who are like my children.
Outside of work, I enjoy family time, camping trips, going to the gym and rare moments of peace and quiet.
I have worked at Millbrae for 11 and a half years in the role of staff nurse.
My hobbies include music, going to concerts, theatre and a good sing-along. I also love to travel abroad and enjoy different foods from around the world
I joined the company in 2018, transitioning from a background in dementia care to become an activity coordinator. I have an innovative mindset and an exceptional sense of humour. I have introduced person-centred activities across the company and led a team of activity coordinators.
I have gained the People's Champion Award and an honourable recognition from the Scottish Parliament.
I have also embraced the role of Dementia and Wellbeing manager, supporting the wellbeing of staff, residents and their families. I am always approachable and available for a chat, offering advice or simply lending an empathetic ear. I ensure activities remain person-centred, allowing individuals to express themselves freely.
I am 34 years old, and I am the head chef for both Woodside and Millbrae Care Homes. I have been a chef for 17 years, and good, healthy, nutritious food for our residents is important to me. I strive to use good-quality ingredients and ensure our residents enjoy their food.
In my spare time, I enjoy Muay Thai and enjoy camping and fishing.
