I find the staff and facilities excellent and the support we get is super. My wife requires 24-hour care, a special diet and special bed. I can recommend this care home for facilities and value for money.

My mum looks better in all areas since she went to Park Springs. At home, she had many infections and falls but not since staying at Park Springs. I like the continuity of staff and the many activities available. Mum had her 100th birthday party and all the staff involved were absolutely brilliant.
Mum
is treated like a friend/family member by the staff. Social activities are excellent.

Overall, home is good. Staff are excellent. Rooms could be better in the way of curtains and space. Grounds and gardens are needing to be tidied and cleaned.
Activities are excellent and the food and seems good too.

My mum has now resided in Park Springs for the past year, during that time she has enjoyed a wide variety of activities and new experiences in a well organised manner, the activity program is fantastic and my main reason for choosing this particular care home.
Some of the room furniture is somewhat
dated but more importantly, there is a nice welcoming atmosphere in the home and the staff turnover is low so there has always been a good consistency of care from staff who are now well versed in her likes and dislikes.
The staff, from the management team to the housekeeping and maintenance staff, are all helpful and if any small issues arise they are dealt with promptly.
I am happy in the knowledge that my mother is being well cared for and I would recommend this home to others seeking a similar environment.

Park Springs is a bright and friendly place. The staff are all helpful and friendly. My wife is wheelchair bound but is helped in every way possible. The activities which are organised are many and varied. There is something for everyone and no reason for anyone to feel left out.
The organisers must
be commended for what they do.

Mum's quality of life has improved hugely since she has stayed at Park Springs. The care given has been excellent. She eats and drinks much more regularly and has enjoyed participating in many of the activities. I couldn't be happier - knowing how settled she is has been a huge weight off my mind.
The
staff always have time for both of us and I leave at night knowing Mum will be well looked after until the next time I see her.

The commitment and dedication shown by the activity coordinator has been amazing.
Since my papa has moved into the nursing home she has changed his life.
The work she does is completely selfless and I couldn't be more grateful.
The home is now a happy place for my papa!

I would like to thank the staff for the tremendous work they have done for my Dad. The work concerning my Dad with his past when he was a footballer has been tremendous, she has found out a lot about his past. She also got the BBC involved and they put him on Reporting Scotland. It has helped my Dad
putting a smile on his face and on mine. Staff have relentlessly worked to put more information for both me and the home they deserve a medal.

The staff are very good and capable in their care of my dad although due to his illness he can be challenging. If we have any concerns or questions they are always available to listen and help.
The activities provided seem to be very varied to accommodate all residents.
The rooms I would say are basic
but sufficient for dads needs and again if we have raised any concerns they have been rectified. On the whole, I would say my dad is contented and well cared for which are my main concerns.

Current Review Score: 8.7 (8.716)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 8.7 (8.716) out of 10 for Park Springs Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 6 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 3.9 out of 5 from 6 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.803 for Park Springs Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (58 Excellents x 5) + (12 Goods x 4) + (1 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 71 Ratings = 4.803
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 3.913 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Park Springs Care Home is based on 6 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 = 3.6
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 96 registered maximum number of service users is 19.2. 6 Positive Reviews ÷ 19.2 = 0.313
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
