Being newly refurbished, Harestane's facilities are second to none. Throughout the refurbishment process they constantly asked themselves 'What will truly benefit clients and what will make this a real home from home?'. They feel that the results speak for themselves. With four modern, attractive, homely lounges, two of which have french doors leading directly to the beautiful gardens. There are electric recliner chairs for added comfort and even Nintendo Wii...

My uncle chose this Home himself and was lucky enough to get a room.
The highlight of Harestane is the beautifully kept gardens with plentiful seating areas which gives a nice outlook from the rooms for those unable to get out. There are lounges for visiting families to take their loved ones rather than sitting in the bedrooms if they wish. Although my uncle prefers not to take part in activities he is looking forward to an outing later this week. All staff are approachable and helpful as is the Manager, and the Administrator.

My wee granny has been a resident here for nearly a decade. We have got to know many staff and residents and have been happy with the consistent care on offer. We take comfort in the Care Inspectorates annual assessment of the care on offer, which has consistently sat at 5-very good and is currently rated 6-excellent. This is exceptionally difficult to achieve given the widely known challenges of the care industry. Dementia is an emotionally difficult journey for us all to cope with, but we have found staff and the manager have always been genuine in their support towards us and importantly our loved one. We're kept informed and included in all decisions and are indeed welcome to join in celebrations and social activities that are on. The home has had the same friendly and efficient cleaners for a long time, who keep the place immaculate. Staff may come and go, however the love, hard work and determination of the Manager that keeps this place going. Thank you all for all that you do!

Mum has been in Harestane for a year now. She is happy and content with a nice sunny room which is kept spotlessly clean (as is the en-suite toilet). We have been able to personalise her room with family photos and other memorabilia. Bedding is changed daily as are her clothes which are immaculately laundered. She loves the food and menus have recently been updated. The staff are kind and helpful and she is well looked after with a good range of group activities, concerts, and parties if she chooses to join them, as well as one-to-one attention. She has her hair done every week and enjoys that very much. Staff also manicured and painted her nails on occasion. The manager and her staff work hard to make family members feel welcome, providing tea and biscuits in the family lounge and helping us organise birthday celebrations for Mum. Any issues raised are attended to promptly and staff keep me well informed. The staff turnover is relatively low and so mum now knows many of them very well.

In need of renovation. The staff are compassionate but more required as spread too thin. Requires a handyman on site. Wheelchairs in poor condition. The blinds are broken. Windows need replacing. Very little stimulus for residents as staff do not have the time. Cleanliness needs to be improved.

Thank you for taking the time to review us. We are very proud of our staff team at Harestane and the high levels of care they provide our clients. An outbreak of Covid resulted in rapid restrictions with all PPE supplied and available. Strict adherence to all rules was put in place. The staff were careful and supportive to all and took care to implement all restrictions. The staff are all in uniform and easily approached. I find them all very helpful, approachable and kind, supportive to all clients and visitors.

Thank you very much for your kind words. We are proud of our staff team and especially how they have implemented and dealt with any Covid restrictions in place whilst remaining supportive of clients and their families.

The care provided is exceptional. It is evident that residents are well looked after and communication with us is very good. The home is well maintained with plenty of staff around. We are very pleased that we chose Harestane for Mum.

Dear John,
Thanks so much for your wonderful comments. The team at Harestane work extremely hard to maintain high standards of care. We are so pleased that this translates through to the care your mum receives every day.
Comments like yours make it all worthwhile for everyone involved.

My aunt is a resident at Harestane. She was previously at a home in Perth. Harestane staff do a great job, always attentive to residents. What struck most is the activities and entertainment that the home provides. Staff are always friendly and helpful. I am very happy with Harestane and would highly recommend it, as I have done.

Harestane is a friendly home, with fantastic staff and management. We, as a family, feel very welcome in the environment. The manager is very 'hands-on'. She is like a mother to residents and is very approachable. We feel we can ask staff anything and they are always very caring and supportive. Would recommend this home to anyone.

In the main, the atmosphere is very good.
The room and bathroom are well equipped and the care is very good during the day but is rather poorer at night.

The food lacks variety, especially at lunchtime.
