Very professionally run nursing home with friendly and caring staff. Mum was here on a short stay whilst a broken bone was healing. She would have no hesitation in returning but she hopes to remain at home for as long as possible now her broken bone is on the mend.

I would like to take this opportunity to say a big thank you to all the staff at Jordanstown Nursing Home for all the care and friendly atmosphere in the nursing home. From the day of entry and every day (3 months) to discharge.
Every person in each department continually met my wife's needs with
compassion and especially laughter. The day of arrival we were met by the nurse in charge who put our fears to rest, the cook asked my wife if she needed some food and as I requested prepared some tea and toast with cheese. Staff also set up our TV and checked it was safe. The carers were magnificent. All I can say we as a family were literally blown away with the nursing home.

I have been a resident for 2 years and have few complaints, if any.
I have been offered accommodation in newer homes but to leave here would be like leaving home. The staff are so good, kind and caring that I consider more as family than carers.

Since I came into this nursing home I was made very welcome by the management and staff.
I could not have wished for anything any better. To be honest I will miss all the friends I have made here.
I will be back to show my appreciation. Thank you.

My dad is a current resident at Jordanstown Care Home and we are really pleased with the care he is receiving there. I would not hesitate to recommend the home to others. Staff are friendly, approachable and supportive. Any health concerns are followed up quickly with a GP. The activities coordinator
has fantastic ideas and gets residents involved in a wide range of crafts & activities. My dad is on a special diet and the kitchen staff go over and above to ensure he gets a variety of different food options. The food is freshly prepared and smells really good - Dad seems to enjoy it! Good facilities - Dad is in a small but bright room looking into the garden. He has the option to go into several lounges or stay in his room.
Thank you for taking such good care of him.

My father had to receive nursing care, and we did not really know where to admit him.
We had a bad experience in a residential home, and we, as a family, were so nervous.
I cannot recommend Jordanstown Care Home highly enough.
The staff were unbelievable; the nursing care that my dad received during
the last three weeks of his life, honestly, was 100%.
My dad was able to stay at the care home rather than go to the hospital. We were able to visit him whenever we wanted throughout the day. The last four nights, we were able to stay overnight with him. Thank you to everyone for all the care and support you give us as a family. It was like home from home. To all the staff for everything, we cannot thank you enough.

Staff helped my mother coming out of the hospital and supported her through palliative care through to her passing. I couldn't recommend the staff highly enough.

Mum has been resident since July 2016 and instantly settled in. The staff and management are very approachable and any concerns are quickly rectified. She slid off her chair. Medical assistance was called and I was notified immediately. Mum is always clean and well presented. The diet is varied with
a daily choice and as her fluid intake is poor. I asked that she be given jelly to augment this which has been done. The rooms are well decorated though have limited facilities - basin and toilet (en-suite). This is due to the age and adaptation of the building and not a poor reflection on completely new builds.

I have found the care home to fill my present needs. There is a homely atmosphere brought by staff who all work together. I feel it would be remiss of me not to mention the excellent laundry service. I'm sitting in my bedroom 22/03/18 time 14:01 and the temperature is 25.2 degrees Celsius. I find this
overwhelming.

Hairdo every Monday, feet get attention when needed. Entertainment like Bingo and girl dancers and on St Patrick's day, also a man playing the accordion and singing occasionally.

Jordanstown is a well-presented care home with excellent, friendly staff.
Rooms are of a good size and kept spotlessly clean.
Food is also a good portion size for an older person.
A beautifully kept garden at the rear which is well maintained.
All staff have always a friendly word and chat. Would
well recommend.

I would recommend this Care Home to anyone who was looking for Care for a loved one. The service my Mother receives is second to none and she loves all the Staff who look after her so well. My Mother is 91 years old and requires 24 hour nursing and she is totally happy with the excellent way the Nurses
look after her.

I am so happy my Mother is looked after by all the wonderful Staff in Jordanstown Care Home and I thank them all for the kindness they show to my dear Mum.

Many thanks

Current Review Score: 8.7 (8.705)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 8.7 (8.705) out of 10 for Jordanstown Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.7 out of 5 from 5 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.0 out of 5 from 5 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.733 for Jordanstown Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (50 Excellents x 5) + (5 Goods x 4) + (4 Satisfactorys x 3) + (1 Poors x 2) ) ÷ 60 Ratings = 4.733
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 3.972 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Jordanstown Care Home is based on 5 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 = 3.5
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 53 registered maximum number of service users is 10.6. 5 Positive Reviews ÷ 10.6 = 0.472
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
