Review of Carnalea Care Home from Lorraine M (Daughter of Resident) published on 8 September 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience
My father recently passed away after being a resident for 16 months and my mother had previously been a resident for more than 4 years. I cannot praise Carnalea enough and in particular the staff. At ALL times both my Mum & Dad were treated with dignity and compassion (even when my Dad was grumpy) The staff were very proactive in assessing their needs and I never once had to ask them to do anything.
My only small criticism relates to Beaumont, rather than Carnalea and it was the total lack of activities since December 2025 and I believe this had a negative impact on the residents. I feel Beaumont should have seconded an activities co-ordinator from another home, even for 1 day per week.

I would highly recommend Carnalea to anyone who is in the process of sourcing a care home for a relative

Review of Strathearn Court Care Home from Pamela J (Daughter of Resident) published on 4 September 2026 Submitted via Postal Card
Overall Experience

My parents were with you until 24-7-26, when Mum died. Dad still there since Nov 23. Mum was cared for with such dignity and love. All of the nursing and care staff are amazing and their dedication. The place is scrupulously clean and tidy all the time. We are well informed of Dad's progress and medical situation. We are confident there is no better place he could be.

Review of Manor View Care Home from Paul M (Son of Resident) published on 1 September 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience

My mum has been in Manor View care home since July 2026, and I'm very pleased with the level of care and attention that she receives. It's clear to see that the nursing staff take a dedicated and real interest in the well-being of the patients there. In particular, Emmanuel, the manager, is a true professional and great guy. He and the nurses have been very helpful and caring to Mum since mum arrived. This gives a strong level of reassurance to me and my brothers.

My wife seems satisfied where she is, while at home or hospital she complained and got cross but no more, she is now calm and looks a lot better.

Review of Cherryvalley Care Home from A M (Daughter of Resident) published on 24 August 2026 Submitted via Postal Card
Overall Experience

This is my 2nd experience of this home. In the intervening 7 years it has dramatically improved since the appointment of the latest manager. The end of life care was exemplary and staff provided a level provided for a cherished family member. I received a tremendous support especially from Erminia she has a good team in all her various departments. My only criticism is a policy of dispensing medication centrally from a pharmacy 10 miles away - resulting that its not available on the day its prescribed. As more than 1/2 of these homes are in Belfast that seems determential to everyones interests.

Review of Lisburn Intermediate Care Centre from Brian M (Son of Resident) published on 14 August 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience
Our Dad was in Lisburn Intermediate Care Centre Feb 26 - June 26 initially for rehab.
I cannot speak highly enough of all staff - nurses, care assistants, cleaners, maintenance, management etc.

LICC was always tempoary so he eventually moved to a location closer to home and family.

Review of Strathearn Court Care Home from Lesley M (Daughter of Resident) published on 13 August 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience
Mum had been a resident in Strathearn Court Care Home from October 2025. Sadly she passed away in July 2026. The care she received was exceptional. We are so grateful to all the staff: The Care Home Manager, nursing team , care assistants , Activity Coordinators, kitchen staff , cleaners, laundry and maintenance staff.

Dad is still a resident there and the staff made it possible for them to be together often. Mum was so fond of the staff , so very friendly, welcoming and attentive. Thank you .

Review of Cherryvalley Care Home from Heather C (Daughter of Resident) published on 5 August 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience

Exceptional care, kindness and love. My mum lived at Cherryvalley Care Home for two and a half years, and I cannot praise the entire team highly enough. From the manager, nurses and carers to the kitchen, domestic, maintenance and laundry staff and hairdresser, everyone helped make it feel like home. Mum was cared for with genuine love, dignity, patience and compassion. She was truly known as a person, with her own little ways, likes and dislikes, and was always treated with warmth and respect. During her final days, the care shown to Mum and to our family was exceptional and something I will never forget. I will always be deeply grateful to everyone at Cherryvalley for making her feel safe, cherished and loved. It is everything a care home should be, and I would recommend it without hesitation.

Review of Comber Care Home from Lynne M (Daughter of Resident) published on 20 July 2026 Submitted via Postal Card
Overall Experience
My mother, following a serious fall moved to Comber Care Home in Jan 25. It became evident quickly that she would be unable to return home. Her own and the family's experience was extremely positive. The home has a welcoming atmosphere. The upstairs staff team provided excellent care to mum for 16 months until she died.

Their upset spoke volumes about the relationship they all had with mum. A huge thank you.

Review of Abbeylands Care Home from Carol J (Daughter of Resident) published on 5 July 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience

Staff are friendly and helpful and chief nurse is knowledgeable and hardworking. There seems to be a good variety of appropriate food and appears to be of good quality. An effort is made to decorate the dining room and take residents down or outside in wheelchairs if needed. There is some encouragement of taking part in activities although I haven't witnessed any activities taking place on my visits. An information booklet for relatives would be helpful to explain how the everyday running of the home and what to provide for your family member.

Review of Lisburn Care Home from Alison H (Daughter-in-law of Resident) published on 26 June 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience
My mother in law was in Lisburn Care Home for the last 11 years of her life. She was surrounded by love, care & compassion throughout her stay. She was so loved by all of the staff which meant as a family we never needed to worry at all.
During her end of life care, staff couldn't have been better, we felt supported and had an endless supply of tea, coffee & food if we needed it, thank you Leslie & Geoff.
A special mention to Tricia & Robyn who came in often on their days off to see Sally, thank you.

An excellent well run home which we would not hesitate to recommend

Review of Comber Care Home from L B (Niece of Resident) published on 24 June 2026 Submitted via Postal Card

The staff have gone above and beyond in looking after my uncle, and in particular the manager (or lead nurse) of the home. I was always informed on my uncles condition if he had an infection and it was always dealt with promptly and efficiently. My uncle could sometimes be awkward but they always dealt with him with absolute professionalism. Cannot thank them enough as he is now in end stage life.

Review of Comber Care Home from N K (Son of Resident) published on 22 June 2026 Submitted via Postal Card
Overall Experience

A very thorough experience and staff were attentive, dedicated to their duties and those in their care. I can testify to the excellent care my mother received throughout her tow years in Comber from not only the staff responsible for her daily care, but the administrative support from Laura in the office and Michelle (manager). Anything less than excellent belows bears only to my mums specific circumstance with her sight and hearing which placed her at a disadvantage.
