Lansdowne is a fantastic home. They go above and beyond for each resident. Every single staff member is pleasant, kind, caring and trustworthy. The care they give to my uncle is truly amazing. We had a lot of worries after needing to place him in a home and all those worries disappeared within a week
of him living there. They treat each and every resident special. The activities are second to none. We have really noticed a difference in my uncle since being here. He is back to his happy-go-lucky self and it's all thanks to the care he receives at Lansdowne. I can't thank them enough.

Mum went into Lansdowne Care Home when we could not access the palliative care package that best met her needs in the community. We were impressed by the facilities and the standard of the environment in the home. We had good lines of communication with the management team who were open to the family
spending as much time as we wanted to with Mum in her final days. We found all the support team were caring and compassionate. They went above and beyond everyday duties to make sure she was comfortable and dietary requests were meet with an unlimited supply of ice cream! Everyone within the team treated mum with dignity and respect. We as a family appreciated their support to us, as a family we will be forever grateful to all the staff for the care and compassion they showed to Mum. It would be unfair to mention individual staff be we trust that all those working on the first floor will know who they are!

Very pleased with overall service provided to my mum during a short spell in rehab. We have had experience of other Four Seasons care homes and this in our opinion has been best. All levels of staff were attentive to her needs and I found my interactions with nursing staff very informative.

From when I arrived, the staff treated me with dignity and respect. The carers, domestic staff, nurse, physios and occupational therapists are very professional. The care has been good and everybody is very friendly. I even enjoyed MOther's Day and the Easter party. Thank you to one and all. Lansdowne

Since my arrival at Lansdowne, I have been treated with courtesy, dignity and honesty. All the staff are a credit to the managers, trust this includes cleaner, carers, nurses, physios and occupational therapists. Under the pressures that are today with the coronavirus, the staff have been marvellous
in carrying undeterred to their work. I wish all the staff health and gratitude during these trying times.

When mum arrived, her bed sheet was urine stained. The nurse did not introduce herself to either my mum or me and was more interested in getting meds and continuing on with her rounds. Some staff friendly and helpful, but few and far between. Every meal and cuppa served cold, despite requests on a daily
basis for it to be warm. Always seemed to be a shortage of staff. Mum left to her own devices most of the time, except at meal times in her room. Staff did not seem to be aware when mum having problem eg. blood in urine, bad reaction to antibiotics, had to be pointed out to them. Mum said they were rough moving her in bed for washing and treating of bedsore. There was a party one of the days whilst mum was there and she knew nothing about it. Staff didn't even realise she wasn't at it.

Current Review Score: 8.1 (8.116)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 8.1 (8.116) out of 10 for Lansdowne Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 2 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 3.2 out of 5 from 2 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.875 for Lansdowne Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (21 Excellents x 5) + (3 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 24 Ratings = 4.875
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 3.241 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Lansdowne Care Home is based on 2 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 = 3.125
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 86 registered maximum number of service users is 17.2. 2 Positive Reviews ÷ 17.2 = 0.116
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
