Dad initially entered LICC for rehab following a fracture, and ended up staying 2.5 years. He was unable to return home due to his lack of mobility and other health conditions. As a family we were keen for dad to remain at LICC due to the good care and attention he received. The nursing staff managed
dad so very well, were trustworthy and kept us informed in a timely manner of anything we needed to know. The activities staff were also great with dad, involving him and encouraging him in a range of activities that he enjoyed and having a good old banter with him. Not forgetting the cooks, the cleaners and admin staff, who also go a long way to ensure LICC is run so very well. Dad's room was always kept clean and fresh and we observed the cleaners throughout the building working away to keep the place clean and tidy. Dad could be grumpy at times, but all the staff worked with him so well and we appreciated their compassion towards him. Thanks to a brilliant LICC team.

LICC is of comfortable, well-equipped, modern home. Rooms are clean and warm and the ensuites are excellent. The staff are professional friendly and helpful - they provide a high level of personal care . Health issues are carefully tracked and documented - there is good reporting to the family. There
is a regular hairdressing, chiropody and activities. The home management are approachable + friendly. This is a well-managed care home.

Although I have rated staff good there are a number of staff that are excellent - Katrina/James/ Sally/ ANthony and new guy Raymond provide excellent care at all times.
Food is satisfactory - Ivan doesn't usually like the choice of food at teatime - breakfast, lunch and coffee breaks are all good.
The 2 ladies who organise singing are very good ad they encourage residents to take part. Visit rooms and chat handyman available and he too is friendly.

My sister receives care at Lisburn Intermediate Care Centre. We have always found the staff to be very caring, kind and professional. My sister tells me that the food is good and she is in good health.
Management has always been very good about keeping us informed about issues relating to my sister's
health.

Overall very good service.
Issue - access, frequent;y having to wait to be 'buzzed in', doors awkward to open when taking a wheelchair through, narrow space, can't open door and push chair simultaneously. Lip on door saddle difficult to push chair over and can be painful for aunt as she is shaken
going over the bump.

My mum was in the LICC for 2 1/2 months for rehab. Although rehab was not totally successful the care she received was beautiful. The team were all very kind and thoughtful.
The food was the only part of her stay that was disappointing. Myself + others would bring food to their family members.

Thank you to all staff who cared for my grandmother. Initially, she had trouble settling in; however, with the support of the caring staff, she did come to accept LICC as her new home. She was well cared for, was always clean and comfortable and was served meals of a high standard. Staff would always
stop by to share news with her, which she appreciated greatly. There were many social activities organised for residents and my nana particularly enjoyed visits from the local donkey. Families are always made welcome and encouraged to join in the fun. A great many thanks to all the staff for the support they provided the whole family. Keep up the good work!

On entering the building, if you meet the managerial staff you are always greeted with a warm smile and hello. I am full of admiration for the staff who work so efficiently with the residents. Their work can't be easy and they are kept very busy. I know that their smiles and cheery words so much to

Throughout mum's 2 year stay at LICC our family were always welcomed and Mum was treated with dignity, respect and compassion. Although reluctant to join in the many activities provided, with gentle persuasion from experienced staff she enjoyed the music events. After Mum's death I was given a photo
of her in the residents lounge enjoying the music with her peers. This picture will always be special as it is the last one I have of her looking content and happy before her final illness. Sincere thank to all the staff for your patience. Support and understanding.

I stayed here for about a year. I found the staff very friendly and helpful and they looked after me very well. The nursing and care staff were excellent and on the whole I felt listened to and my needs were met. The maintenance man was very trustworthy and carried out his tasks very well. The activities
co-ordinators were excellent and organised lots of varied activities.

Current Review Score: 9.6 (9.591)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.6 (9.591) out of 10 for Lisburn Intermediate Care Centre is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.6 out of 5 from 53 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 52 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.591 for Lisburn Intermediate Care Centre is calculated as follows: ( (417 Excellents x 5) + (170 Goods x 4) + (32 Satisfactorys x 3) + (6 Poors x 2) + (1 Very Poors x 1) ) ÷ 626 Ratings = 4.591
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Lisburn Intermediate Care Centre is based on 52 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 63 registered maximum number of service users is 12.6, which has been reached with 52 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
