Lisburn Intermediate Care Centre

My husband has been a resident in LICC since December 2024. In July 2026 we celebrated our Golden Wedding Anniversary, and we were bowled over by the lengths the staff went to providing, preparing and decorating the venue for us - and the warmth and loving kindness shown made what could have been an emotionally challenging situation into such a joy, and one that we will remember with great gratitude.

Mum was treated with care and empathy when we stayed there for almost 7 weeks. From the nursing team to the excellent coordinated social care / physio/ OT/ doctor and consultant and pharmacist it was a revelation to see all aspects of the NHS working together to offer a further chance or physical recovery in elderly / frail patient. In the end it gave my mother an insight into how good a care home could be and made her feel so safe and comforted she decided along with family to seek a permanent place all be in a closer location to our home. Well done Lisburn ICC. A well run , sweet smelling and caring happy place with emotionally intelligent staff and care fist and foremost.

LICC was always tempoary so he eventually moved to a location closer to home and family.

They were very attentive and kind. Nothing was to much trouble. My aunt was very happy there.

My dad was at LICC from the 10th Dec 2025 until the 10th April 2026 when he passed away. In the time he was there he was shown care, compassion, kindness and respect. The staff were all like family in the way they treated a very ill person who was so important to me. These folk care.

Very good treatment and accomodation for me after coming from hospital. Staff were very professional and kind.

Excellent care provided to mum. Staff are kind and thoughtful and treated mum with the upmost respect and care while she recovered from a stroke.

Dad initially entered LICC for rehab following a fracture, and ended up staying 2.5 years. He was unable to return home due to his lack of mobility and other health conditions. As a family we were keen for dad to remain at LICC due to the good care and attention he received. The nursing staff managed dad so very well, were trustworthy and kept us informed in a timely manner of anything we needed to know. The activities staff were also great with dad, involving him and encouraging him in a range of activities that he enjoyed and having a good old banter with him. Not forgetting the cooks, the cleaners and admin staff, who also go a long way to ensure LICC is run so very well. Dad's room was always kept clean and fresh and we observed the cleaners throughout the building working away to keep the place clean and tidy. Dad could be grumpy at times, but all the staff worked with him so well and we appreciated their compassion towards him. Thanks to a brilliant LICC team.

LICC is of comfortable, well-equipped, modern home. Rooms are clean and warm and the ensuites are excellent. The staff are professional friendly and helpful - they provide a high level of personal care . Health issues are carefully tracked and documented - there is good reporting to the family. There is a regular hairdressing, chiropody and activities. The home management are approachable + friendly. This is a well-managed care home.

The 2 ladies who organise singing are very good ad they encourage residents to take part. Visit rooms and chat handyman available and he too is friendly.

Management has always been very good about keeping us informed about issues relating to my sister's health.

We find the staff and facilities at the care home very good and very friendly and helpful. My father seems to be very settled and well cared for. Any questions we have or any issues is dealt with immediately.

Issue - access, frequent;y having to wait to be 'buzzed in', doors awkward to open when taking a wheelchair through, narrow space, can't open door and push chair simultaneously. Lip on door saddle difficult to push chair over and can be painful for aunt as she is shaken going over the bump.

I have found my experience in Lisburn Intermediate Care Centre since my husband was admitted in Jan 2025 to have been a welcome and warm experience. The staff all the way through have been professional, caring and compassionate towards my husbands and also myself.

My husband has been a resident for almost four years. During this time I have found the staff and management to be first class. I am extremely grateful for all the care and attention he receives.

The food was the only part of her stay that was disappointing. Myself + others would bring food to their family members.

My mum received excellent care during her time in LICC. The level of care she received was second to none. The staff were always kind, friendly and supportive informing me quickly of any specific incidents.

I was a patient in Lisburn Intermediate Care Centre for seven weeks whilst I recovered from a broken ankle. The care and support that I received from nurses and care workers was excellent.
