Welcoming atmosphere from staff for my husband and myself. Nursing staff competent and caring.
We honestly couldn't ask for better care for our dad. He's in the early stages of dementia which can make things harder has he'd still very aware of whats going on, but the staff have been amazing with him. He came straight from hospital into care home so the transition wasn't easy but they've supported him (as us) every step of the way. The staff are also accommodating not just to dad but to us as a family. They're always there when needed especially if he's feeling stressed or anxious and they handle everything with so much patience and kindness. Nothing is ever too much trouble. Everyone is so friendly, approachable and helpful, we are very grateful for everything you do.
I have found Mount Lens throughout my uncles residence there to be a calm, caring and very homely environment. The nursing staff are very attentive to residents health and take immediate action to ensure their needs are met. I was kept up to date on my uncles progress and informed when he had any new health issues. My family and I were always content that my uncle was well looked ater and cared for. All the staff work hard to provide a home from home for the residents. I will always be grateful for the care they showed to my uncle.
I always found the staff to be pleasant and helpful. The residents seem to be to be watching television most of the time, I think there needs to be more activities arranged for them.
The manager and nursing staff are excellent and very approachable. There is always someone available to answer any queries.
The facilities at the home are good and regular services such as hairdressing and podiatry are available which is great as my mum enjoys getting her hair done. There are activities/entertainment for the residents now and again but some gentle exercise classes could be a good introduction as to my knowledge there is none.
Overall, a lovely home and my mum has settled in well over the past 6 months.
My father-in-law was suffering from Alzheimers and the staff at Mount Lens made the home his home, which he loved. No request was too much trouble and we were kept fully up to date at all stages on his progress. We are very grateful for everything the staff did for him and for us.
I find Mount Lens Care Home a very friendly and pleasant place. Staff are very good with my uncle. It is very clean and very cheery.
She likes to talk and would like more interaction with her fellow residents.
Regular staff are very good, some excellent, who go the second mile for the residents. The needs and behaviour of residents vary greatly and puts pressure on staff at specific times, e.g. toileting, moving to dining room/bedroom etc. This can leave some residents unsupervised for a period of time. Accommodation is very good, very clean and suitable to meet the residents' needs. Entertainment is provided from time to time and is good stimulation, exercises would be very helpful. I have not noticed anything of this nature. I have difficulty with asking if they can give their medication or dinner etc. A dementia resident cannot decide this choice - both are essential. I would say the staff, management, medical, carers, cleaners, laundry, maintenance and catering do an excellent job.
The care my mum received from the manager to all the care staff and nurses was exceptional, they met all my mum's needs as well as looking after us as a family. It was exceptional.
When recovered sufficiently to move away from nursing care Mum was very sad to go.

My cousin has been in Mount Lens Care Home for just short of two years. During this time I have found the staff extremely friendly and helpful. My cousin has been well looked after and her personal needs met. I would like to see more activities for the residents as I feel this would be a beneficial distraction during the day. On the whole, I don't think my cousin would have been cared for any better anywhere else.

Thank you, Frederick, for sharing your experience of Mount Lens Care Home. We are pleased to hear that it has been so positive. Have a great day!
My sister and I are quite pleased with my mother's care. We visit most days and the staff are very pleasant. However, I think there are too few staff to look after the patients. It must be extremely difficult to look after so many dementia patients.

Staff are cheerful and concerned for residents.
The home is clean, food is good and laundry is done daily.
The day room tends to be crowded at times.

My mum has been in Mount Lens for one year. Her personal needs and medical requirements have all been met by a solid core of dedicated nurses, carers and activities personnel, to keeping the residents happy and content. Mum is treated with love and respect and I am welcomed on every visit. The bedrooms and lounges provide a pleasant environment. Kitchen, cleaning, laundry and hairdressing services are very good. Management and administration are friendly and efficient. Routine is important and I am kept informed on every aspect of mums well-being. I am confident to leave her in their care.
