The hardest thing you ever have to hear is that your loved one has to go into a nursing home. That was the situation we were in when we found clandeboye. My granny was extremely head strong and tried her best to be independent so we were worried about her transition from home but with Laura's help (and telling her she was going to go stay in a hotel) the transition was smooth. Laura's dog was also such a life line! Wee Murphy became her wee chum! The staff went above and beyond with her personal care and her social well being. Encouraging her to interact with other residents and taking part in daily activities. Their activities coordinator Carmen is an absolute angel who goes the extra mile for every one of the residents. The support we got when granny was receiving end of life care and afterwards was so very much appreciated. The staff are worth their weight in gold and treated granny like family right up until the end in May 2025. We can never thank the staff at the home enough

Our mum was in Clandeboye for four months in early 2025 and during that time she received wonderful love and care from all the staff. From the beginning we were tremendously impressed with the knowledge and expertise of the staff who were able to lovingly manage all mum's needs so she felt very contented from day one. She was allowed to have her meals in bed or to be assisted to the dining room, whichever she preferred.
One huge plus for Clandeboye is the design of the building; no stairs and only one circular corridor which encloses an outdoor courtyard. So if residents decide to go for a walk round, they can't get lost, there's only one corridor! Outdoor space is bright and cheerful, with a recently refurbished garden.
The daily activities provided for the residents are a real joy and everyone is encouraged to participate to the level of their ability. The social media page regularly features residents enjoying crafts and games. We loved looking out for mum.

Many thanks to all the staff

Mum spent nearly 2 years at Clandyboye Care home.
No one wants to hear that a parent needs a home, but we were recommended here and within a fortnight of arriving, Mum was settled and staff had got to know her routine so well. We were informed of everything that was going on with Mum and also at the home, we felt extremely included.
Mum wasn't keen on eating and they understood this and adapted this to suit her which really pleased us, she wasn't always the easiest to handle either, again they were professional, but also they got her personality and the banter was brilliant between Mum, the staff and us!
We as a family can't thank all of the staff enough for the care they gave our Mum from the second she arrived.
The respect and dignity that our Mum received from all of the staff was amazing, from manager, care staff, nursing, cleaning, maintenance staff and beyond, we could not have asked for anything more to be done, they were Mums second family!

Thank you!

My mother has been in Clandeboye Nursing Home for almost a year and a half.
The manager is always there and available to talk to and has been very helpful discussing and reassuring me about the stage of dementia my mum is going through.
One of the staff does so much with the residents and goes out of her way to ensure she is catering for the residents' likes.

So far the staff have been very helpful and inform you straight away about any accidents and incidents.

It is such a reassurance that my dad is not only kept safe, but that he is cared for. The manager knows my thoughts on Clandeboye - it was a lucky day for us when dad moved into the home. The staff know my dad's moods and still manage to smile!!
As a family, we couldn't be happier and couldn't thank you all enough.
When the family aren't able to care for their loved ones, it is reassuring to know how well they are cared for.

Thank you!

My mum has been resident here for 8 months now and she is very happy. As a family, we are delighted to have mum in such a great place.

The staff are all lovely and are 100 percent invested in making live as great as possible for all residents. I think there is a great mix of staff, including some mature ones who have been there a long time, which I think is a good sign. Food choices are excellent and the range of activities and visiting entertainment ensures there is always something to look forward too. I would have no hesitation recommending this home to anyone.

My mum has been a resident for nearly 3 years and has been bed ridden for all that time. The home is bright and cheerful. Every time I'm in, no matter what time of the day it's being cleaned. It is spotless and fresh smelling. All the staff whether nurse or carer or other are so attentive to all the residents. They interact with residents, who some days aren't in great form, but they get the best from them. Every time there's an activity you can see they're enjoying being involved especially when making decorations to decorate the home or when the local school come to visit. This is the 3rd home my mum has been in since her dementia diagnosis but I have nothing but good things to say about it and it's staff. Our family is happy with Clandeboye Care Home and we know mum is safe and well cared for.

My sister-in-law was sent to Clandeboye from hospital early June 2024. She has Lewy Body Dementia. We live in Wales and visited at least once a month. We had several concerns with her care and would mention these on our visits to staff and manager. We were told our concerns would be addressed, hygiene among many. We found her still in PJs at 2pm and soiled. In August she had a fall about 4am. We had a phone call around lunchtime and told apart from a scratch she wasn't complaining of pain and was unhurt. She was nonverbal at that time so we demanded an ambulance. We immediately booked flights. At the hospital it was found she had a broken femur and must have been extremely painful for her. After a couple of weeks in hospital she was returned to Clandeboye. We were assured they would look after her and encourage physiotherapy. They didn't.

Last week was the last straw. She hadn't had a shower for over a week despite being incontinent. She is now in a new home, happy, settled and clean.

I'm glad to say that my family has had a very positive experience with the care provided to my mother by Clandeboye Care Home! It's wonderful to know that both the nursing and care staff go above and beyond in delivering outstanding service to the residents in their care.
The dedication and compassion shown by the staff at Clandeboye is truly commendable. They prioritise the well-being and comfort of their residents, which is incredibly important in a care facility.

Keep up the excellent work in caring for our loved ones, well done all.

My Mother has been in residence here for over a year now. Although I have not visited in person as I live in England, my brother keeps me well informed on his regular visits and lets me speak to my Mother through social media. I cannot believe how much she has changed for the better. Staff get her involved in activities that she enjoys. Her medical needs are tended to which in the past had some problems even though she had four care visits a day. Can't praise this care home enough.
